The effect of rhGM-CSF/IL-3 on apoptosis of Ara-C-induced myeloid leukemic cell line HL- 60 was investigated. The results indicated that treatment with rhGM-CSF/IL-3 in combination with Ara-C significantly inhibited the colony growth of HL-60 and enhanced the oligonucleosomal DNA fragmentation as compared with Ara-C alone. The Ara-C mediated apoptosis rates of HL-60 cells treated with rhGM-CSF/IL-3 fusion protein alone were markablely improved compared with treatment with rhIL-3 plus rhGM-CSF, it was noted that the Ara-C mediated of apoptosis normal peripheral white blood cells was less affected by rhGM-CSF/IL-3. It suggested that rhGM-CSF/IL-3 could be used as a possible curing drug during the phase of induced remission of leukemia.

Objective To assess the feasibility of intracavitary drainage using three equally-sized double pigtail stents in the treatment of ureteral stricture. Methods Placement of three identical double pigtail stents in ureters for indwelling for 10～12 weeks was carried out in 27 cases of ureteral stricture from March 2000 to June 2003. Results The patients were followed for 2～24 months, with a mean of 18 months. No lumbar distending pain or fever occurred after the removal of the drainage in 26 cases, with the IVP examination indicating patency drainage and no ureteral stricture. Re-examination of IVP 6 months after the surgery found no improvement of hydronephrosis in 1 case. The overall success rate was 96% (26/27). Conclusions Intracavitary drainage using three equally-sized double pigtail stents in the treatment of ureteral stricture is feasible.

[Objective]To investigate the compatibility of tissue and cell in the three-dimensional porous bioactive glass/recombine human Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BG /rhBMP2)materialscaffolds and provide a reference for improving the constitution of composite material.[Method]The material of BG and BG/rhBMP2 were cultured in vitro with rabbit osteoblasts respectively. The morphology and adhesion were examined by inverted microscope and scanning electron microscope, and the cell proliferation was detected by MTT assay. The composite materialscaffold were embeded in rabbit's muscle and incisions were observed. The specimens were harvested in 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks respectively and examined by histology to evaluate the tissue response.[Result]The results showed the cells on BG and BG /rhBMP2 were good adhension and activity, the two materialscaffolds had no apparent inflammatory reaction in vivo. MTT assay showed the number of the cells in each group were significantly increased along with the culture time prolonged. The number of cells in the BG and rhBMP2 group was higher than that of the control group at different intervals, with a significant difference. The number of cells in the BG/rhBMP2 was not evidently higher than that of the BG with a significant difference.[Conclusion]The porous composite materialscaffold of BG/rhBMP2 has good biocompatibility with the hope to wide use in bone tissue engineering.

Objective To study variations of plasma sE-selectin and sICAM-1 level of type 2 diabetes(T2DM) patients complicated with lower limb vascular disease,and contribution of these molecules to the formation of the lower limb vascular disease. Methods Plasma sE-selectin and sICAM-1 of 51 type 2 diabetic patients and 20 age & sex matched non-diabetes people(control group) were determined with ELISA.16 T2DM patients without lower limb vascular disease and 17 age & sex matched T2DM complicated with lower limb vascular disease were selected from the patients group,as group 1 and group 2 respectively,and 17 age and sex matched non-diabetic individuals were selected from control group as group 3.sE-selectin and sICAM-1 level were contrasted among the three groups. Objective To investigate the effects of Porous tantalum rod implantation and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation on the treatment of avascular necrosis of femoral head (ANFH).Methods Thirty-six cases with early ANFH (19 cases on the left side and 17 cases on the right side) treated by Porous tantalum rod implantation and matrix induced autologous peripheral blood stem cell trans-plantation from July 2009 to March 2011.The 36 cases had osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH) lesions Ⅰ and Ⅱ according to the international bone circulation Research Association (ARCO) classification of ONFH lesion.All patients were followed up for 12-15 months.Clinical evaluation included preoperative and postoperative pain score,the Harris hip score,percentage of low signal MRI area in the volume of femoral head.Results All the patients were followed up for 12 to 15 months.The postoperative Harris hip score was significantly higher than pre-operation ((91.70 ± 6.90) vs.(68.32 ± 7.10) ; t =4.364,P ＜ 0.01).Pain symptoms reduced markedly ((15.55 ±6.60) vs.(29.78 ±5.67);t =3.423,P ＜0.05).Hip flexion and external rotation function was restored.MRI showed that after the operations the volume of areas with femoral head necrosis significantly reduced in compared with the pre-operation ((38.20 ± 8.30) ％ vs.(21.43 ± 5.10) ％ ; t =6.527,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Porous tantalum rod implantation and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation can significantly reduce joint pain,dramatically restore joint function,effectively prevent collapse of the femoral head,retard progression and has good clinical efficacy in the treatment of early femoral head necrosis.

Objective To observe the epidemic trends of Keshan disease (KD) from 1967 to 2012 in Chuxiong City,in order to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of the disease.Methods The data below was collected and analyzed with epidemiological method.KD cases reported through registration and the death case reported were collected in Chuxiong City from 1960 to 2012,also the reported monitoring results of KD and the adult KD screening results of dilated cardiac patients and mountain patients in 2012 were collected,then epidemic trends of KD was analysed comprehensively.Results There were 1 569 cases of KD registered from 1967 to 2012.There were 566 death cases of KD.The total prevalence rate of KD was 7.7％ (226/2 953) by monitoring children KD at the diseased areas of KD and the potential KD patients accounted for 97.3％ (220/226) from 1990 to 1994.The total prevalence rate of KD was 0.6％ (44/7 174) by surveillance at KD diseased areas from 2005-2012 and the potential KD patients accounted for 70.5％ (31/44),there were 7 children cases of KD under 15 years who accounted for 15.9％ from 2005 to 2012.Totally 313 551 children were given sodium selenium for supplying selenium from 1976 to 2008.Totally 151 cases of KD were found by screening from the patients with dilated cardiac patients since 1988 and they were all chronic KD patients.There were 112 cases of KD in 2012 and there were 6 children cases of KD under 15 years,which accounted for 5.4％.Chuxiong City Keshan disease epidemic presented from subacute Keshan disease to Keshan disease,to latent Keshan disease a slow transition;age from children (＜6 years) to children (＜15 years) to adult-oriented features.Conclusions The incidence and prevalence rate of KD has reached the basic control standards,but children KD is coexisting with adults KD.The pathogenic factors have not been eliminated,disease monitoring and health promotion should be carried out.
