1.High frequency focusing technique in treatment of syringoma of eyelid: a clinical report of 106 cases
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2001;0(06):-
Objective To observe the clinical results of eyelid syringoma which was treated with the high frequency focusing cosmetic instrument. Methods Total 106 cases of syringooma of eyelid were treated with high frequency focusing cosmetic instrument and homemade "Sheng Ji Fu Sheng You." After the tumor was removed, the wax like surface of the skin appeared immediately and then gasified completely. After the surgery, the "Sheng Ji Fu Sheng You" was spreat on the surface of operated eyelid without wrapping. Results Among the 106 patients, 95 cases (89.62 %) were cured. The total efficient rate reached 100 %. The follow up for 1 to 10 years showed the outstanding results of treatment and cosmetology. Conclusion The effect of the high frequency focusing technique in the treatment of eyelid syringoma is very reliable. Furthermore there is no any postoperative scar and complication. Therefore it is one of the best ways to treat syringoma of the eyelid.

Objective To explore the curative effect of ulinastatin against toxic acute kidney injury(AKI) in rats and its mecha-nism .Methods Twenty-four male SD(Sprague Dawley) rats were randomly divided into 3 groups ,control group ,model group and treatment group with 8 rats in each group .Rats were subcutaneously injected gentamicin(300 mg/kg of body weight per day) for 3 days to establish models of toxic AKI .Rats in treatment group were intraperitoneally injected with a 7-day course of ulinastatin(30 000 U/kg of body weight per day) from 4th day .Dectetion of serum level of creatinine and Cystatin-C(Cys C) ,urinary concentra-tion of kidney injury molecule-1 (Kim-1 ) and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL ) ,activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) ,content of malondialdehyde ,levels of tumour necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) and inter-leukin-1β(IL-1β) in homogenate of renal tissues as well as observation of renal pathological changes and semiquantitative score in each group were conducted on 11th day .Results In model group ,degeneration and necrosis of renal tubular epithelial cell ,dilatation of renal tubular cavity and inflammatory cell infiltration in renal interstitial were observed .Renal pathological changes were milder in treatment group ,when compared with the model group .Renal pathological semiquantitative score ,serum level of creatinine and Cys C ,urinary concentration of Kim-1 and NGAL ,content of malondialdehyde ,levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in homogenate of renal tissues were higher in model group than in control group ,while those in treatment group were lower than in model group(P<0 .01 , respectively) .And activity of SOD and GSH-Px in homogenate of renal tissues were lower in model group than in control group ,and those in treatment group were higher than in model group and control group(P<0 .01 ,respectively) .Conclusion Ulinastatin pos-sesses a curative role in toxic AKI in rat via inhibiting oxidative stress and down-regulating levels of proinflammatory factor in renal tissues .

Objective To evaluate the effect of continuous glucose monitoring system(CGMS) in improving the current status of type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) control and reducing the economic burden of the patients. Methods One hundred and fifteen patients with T1DM were randomly assigned to the CGMS group and the self-monitoring of blood glucose(SMBG) group respectively. The patients in CGMS group were on 72 h CGMS every 6 months, while SMBG group only with SMBG to guide the insulin dose adjustment. The levels of blood glucose and the statistics of the number of hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis were taken as the main observational indexes every 6 months. The chronic complication and the statistics of the number of hospitalizations and the total cost of treatment were made as the secondary observational index every 12 months. Results 2 h postprandial plasma glucose(2hPG) and mean blood glucose(MBG) in the CGMS group were lower than those in the SMBG group [(10.7±1.9 vs 11.5±2.7) mmol/L, (9.7±0.5 vs 10.6±0.7) mmol/L, P<0.05] in the clinical follow-up visit after 6 months. The per capita number of hypoglycaemia in the CGMS group was lower than that in the SMBG group[(7.9±2.6 vs 9.2±3.4) times, P<0.05].In the outpatient follow-up re-visit to the patients after 6 months, fasting plasma glucose(FPG), 2hPG, MBG, and HbA1C of the patients in the CGMS group were lower than those in the SMBG group(t=4.71~9.75, P<0.05), the per capita numbers of hypoglycemia and DKA in the CGMS group were lower than those in the SMBG group(t=3.61~4.37, P<0.05).Conclusion The application of real-time continuous glucose monitoring in T1DM outpatient management may reduce the whole-day blood glucose of the patients, decrease the incidence risk of hypoglycemia, and improve the compliance of the treatment while without increasing the economic burden of the disease.
