Objective To investigate the clinical curative effect of endoscopic surgery for elderly patients with colorectal cancer. Meth-ods 143 patients underwent laparoscopic colorectal resection were divided into the observation group (n= 47,≥75 years) and the control group (n= 96,<75 years) according to their age. Compared the general situation, intraoperative indicators, and postoperative complications of the two groups and explored the risk factors of complications. Results There was no significant difference in operation time, number of lymph node dissection, operation margin length, severe complications, hospitalization days and mortality of 30 days after operation (P>0. 05). The total complication rate of observation group was higher than that of the control group with a statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). Patients over 75 years old and operation time more than 350 minutes are risk factors of complications (P<0. 05). Operation time more than 350 minutes and diabetes were the risk factors of complications. Conclusion Laparoscopic colorectal resection for elderly pa-tients is safe and feasible,as we selecting patients strictly, paying attention to monitor, dealing with complications actively, and operating oper-ation skillfully.
