Objective: To investigate the effect of human vascular endothelial growth factor on restenosis after angioplasty. Methods: A rabbit model of injured carotid artery was established using percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. The pcDNA3/hVEGF165(500 μg,n=12) and pcDNA3 (500 μg,n=12) were separately transfected into injured arterial wall with 30 min incubation. The carotid artery was imaged by arotic angiography at the end of week 2 and week 4. Pathology analysis and Northern blot analysis were performed for harvested injured artery segment. Results: Arotic angiography showed carotid artery diameter narrowness were obviously lessened at week 2 and week 4 in experimental group than that in control group; H-E stains showed lumina narrow ratio were obviously reduced at week 2 and week 4 in experimental group than that in control group[(9.58±1.35)% vs (31.72±1.72)%;(18.09±2.93)% vs (44.05±3.28)%, P<0.01 ]; By Northern blot analysis, the expression of hVEGF165mRNA in experimental group were upregulated than in contol group. Conclusion: pcDNA3/hVEGF165 can be transfected into smooth muscle cell and continue to secret bioactivity protein at least for 4 weeks; it can accelerate reendothelialization and prevent restenosis.

Objective To study the treatment of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in patients with HIV infection and AIDS and the patients′ survival time after HAART treatment. Methods Three thousand and one hundred cases of HIV infection and AIDS patients received HAART in 12 months by monthly flow cytometry instrument MultiSET absolute counting method detecting the CD4+T cell levels, bDNA method (detection range 1.60 log ~ 6.10 log RNA copies/mL) detecting serum HIV-1 viral load under rigorous clinical observation. Results Twelve months after treatment, the CD4+T cell count increased an average of 430 × 106/L (P < 0.01). Eight months after treatment, all viral loads reached their measurable levels (below 1.70 log copies/mL) by decreasing 45 log copies/mL on average. Conclusion HIV/AIDS patients showed treatment extremely significant possitive responses to highly active antiretroviral therapy. The patients′ survival rate after treatment has greatly improved compare to that in previous literature.

Aim To investigate the effects of lipophilic fraction of Ganoderma lucidum on PC12 differentiation. Methods Rat PC12 cells were cultured in DMEM medium. Differentiation of PC12 cells was evaluated by monitoring neurite outgrouth of PC12 cells with phase-contrast microscopy after treatment with lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma lucidum or it's effective component B_2. Expression of neuronal marker,microtubule-associated protein-2,was determined with immonofluorescence and western blot analysis. Results Lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma at the concentrations between 125 and 500 mg?L -1 induced neurite outgrowth of PC12 cells in a dose-dependent manner. Nearly all cells showed morphological differentiation in response to lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma. Lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma also potentiated NGF-induced differenti-ation of PC12 cells. Lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma increased the expression of MAP-2. Conclusion Lipophilic extracts of Ganoderma lucidum can induce differentiation of PC12 cells and potentiate NGFs actions.

Objective To determine the expression of disabled homolog 2 interacting protein (DAB2IP) gene in the basal cell carcinoma (BCC) of the skin, and to investigate its clinical significance. Methods Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in 105 outpatients and inpatients who received skin mass resection in Department of Dermatology,Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital and Guangzhou Institute of Dermatology between January 2012 and November 2017.Totally,79 patients with pathologically diagnosed BCC of the skin served as patient group, and 26 patients with pathologically diagnosed skin tag but without other clinical manifestations served as control group.Immunohistochemical staining was performed to determine the expression of DAB2IP in the two groups, and correlations of the DAB2IP expression with the clinical phenotype and pathological features of BCC of the skin were analyzed.Statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS21.0 software by using chi-square test for the comparison of enumeration data. Results The protein expression of DAB2IP was observed in 11 (42.3%) of 26 patients in the control group,as well as in 74 (93.7%) of 79 patients in the patient group, and there was a significant difference in the positive rate of DAB2IP protein between the two groups (x2 =33.50,P < 0.05).The expression of DAB2IP was uncorrelated with gender or age of patients with BCC of the skin,or with the tumor size (all P > 0.05).The positive rate of DAB2IP protein significantly differed between the patients with superficial BCC (5/7) and those with invasive BCC (95.8%,69/72;x2 =6.47,P < 0.05).Of the 79 patients with BCC of the skin,Ki-67 protein was detected in 31 (39.2%),and the cancer cells expressing Ki-67 protein also expressed DAB2IP protein. Conclusion The expression of DAB2IP increases in BCC of the skin, which may be associated with the occurrence and infiltration of BCC of the skin.

Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of sulfotanshinone sodium in lung fibrosis in ALI rats by intraperitoneal injection. Method The rats were divided into normal group, model group and sulfotan-shinone sodium group randomly.During the experiment, acute lung injury was induced by oleic acid in rats.Sulfo-tanshinone sodium group was treated by intraperitoneal injection of sulfotanshinone sodium for 14 days consecutively. The 12 rats were sacrificed at 7thand 14thday after last administration. The indexes of weight, arterial partial pres-sure of oxygen(PaO2),oxygenation index(PaO2/FiO2),lung index and wet/dry ratio,IL-1,TNF-α,PCⅢ,TGF-β1 and the lung histopathology of rats were observed. Results There was no difference in rat weight between the groups. The values of PaO2and PaO2/FiO2were increased. The lung index and wet/dry ratio,IL-1,TNF-α,PCⅢ, TGF-β1 and IQA were all reduced. The lung histopathology damage was significantly lightened.as compared with the model group. Conclusion It has treatment effect of sulfotanshinone sodium in lung fibrosis in the ALI rats, which may be related with the adjustment on inflammatory factor.

Anti-seizure medications (ASMs) are the main therapy for epilepsy. There are many kinds of ASMs with complex mechanism of action, so it is difficult for pharmacists to examine prescriptions. This paper put forward some suggestions on the indications, dosage forms/routes of administration, appropriateness of usage and dosage, combined medication and drug interaction, long-term prescription review, individual differences in pathophysiology of children, and drug selection when complicated with common epilepsy, for the reference of doctors and pharmacists.
