Objective To explore the clinical comparative value of little abdominal incision and laparoscopic treatment of large ovarian cysts.Methods A total of 31 consecutive cases of large ovarian cysts were analyzed.Two groups were made with the random number table method.Eighteen women with little abdominal incision were served as study group.The corresponding nineteen women with laparoscopic treatment were treated as control group.All the people were treated with placket suctionand helicism suture.The operation time,amount of bleeding,hospitali-zation time,cost of hospitalization and postoperative complications of the two groups were compared,and the levels of C -reactive protein and leukocyte count were also compared.Results The operation time,amount of bleeding,hospi-talization time and cost of hospitalization in the study group were (52.17 ±3.02)min,(30.09 ±1.91)mL,(5.75 ± 0.98)d and (5 272.85 ±355.21)yuan respectively,which in the control group were (72.40 ±4.45)min,(29.71 ± 0.56)mL,(5.15 ±0.31 )d and (11 825.59 ±857.71 )yuan respectively;There were no statistically significant differences in amount of bleeding and hospitalization time between the two groups(t =1.57,1.19,all P >0.05),but the operation time in the study group was less than that in the control group(t =4.51,P <0.05),and the same result of the cost of hospitalization was detected in the two groups(t =5.24,P <0.05).Conclusion In the basis of placket suctionand helicism suture,little abdominal incision surgery method is worthy of the clinical promotion with shorter operation time,more rapidly postoperative recovery and less hospitalization expense.

152 patients with pseudobulbar paralysis resulting from ischemic cerebral infarction were treated with polysaccharide sulphate (PSS) or Troxerutin (TR) and their clinical curative effect and laboratory parameters were studied. 76 patients (M46,F30,mean ages 62+6 y),were treated with PSS:PSS 150 mg in 5% Glocose Solution 500 mL iv. drip. qd,for 14 days as a course. The other 76 patients (M46,F30,mean age 63 + 7 y) were treated with (TR);TR 600 mg in hydroxyethyi-starch 500 mL iv. drip ,qd .for 14 days as a course. Hepatitis B virus (HBV)covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA)is an intermediate replicative episome which is stable and not easy to eliminate.cccDNA serves as the template for HBV replication and plays an important role in persistence of HBV infection in hep-atocytes,and it is also a biomarker of HBV activity.Studies suggested that HBV has extrahepatic infectivity and cccDNA could be detected in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC).The predictive values of HBV cccDNA in PBMC for HBV recurrence after liver transplanta-tion and antiviral therapy and mother-to -child transmission of HBV in patients with hepatitis B,as well as the possible mechanism of cccDNA involved in extrahepatic HBV infection,are summarized.Therefore,the detection of HBV cccDNA is of great significance for the study and treatment of HBV.

BACKGROUND: Arterial injury surrounding the mandibular angle is very common during mandibular angle ostectomy. The retromandibular vein is susceptible to injury owing to thin vascular wall and deep location. Anatomical studies regarding the retromandibular vein are rarely reported.OBJECTIVE: To observe the construction, branches, backstreaming of the retromandibular vein and its relation to the facial nerve and mandibular angle.METHODS: Twenty formalin-fixed adult cadavers (40 samples) were randomly selected. Bilateral retromandibular veins and their branches were cleaned. The construction, branches, backstreaming of the retromandibular vein and its relation to the facial nerve and mandibular angle were anatomically observed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The retromandibular vein originated constantly and provided an average length of (4.51±2.01) cm, with an average outer diameter of (0.52±0.28) cm at the origination part. A total of 34 samples showed that the retromandibular vein was formed by the union of the superficial temporal and maxillary veins, and six samples showed that the retromandibular vein originated from the superficial temporal vein. The retromandibular vein divided into two types according to the backstreaming and course: one type consisted of the anterior and posterior branches: the anterior branch mostly drained into the internal jugular vein and minorly drained into the external jugular vein; the posterior branch was joined by the posterior auricular vein and became the external jugular vein. Another type of retromandibular vein without the anterior and posterior branches directly connected with the posterior auricular vein and entered the external jugular vein. The retromandibular vein had the following branches (appearance frequency): facial transverse vein (88%), mandibular articular vein (98%), parotid veins (95%),anterior auricular veins (58%), styloid process vein (43%). 88% of the retromandibular vein was located in the superior and inferior trunks of the facial nerve and in the medial branches. The retromandibular vein connected with facial nerve trunk or major branches in a decussated fashion. 75% of the arc-shaped structures formed by the retromandibular vein and its branches coursed close to the inferior and posterior border of the mandibular angle, and 25% of the arc-shaped structures were not close to the lowest point of the mandibular angle. The thin periosteum between the venous wall and cortical bone was just the position of ostectomy line of mandibular angle. The retromandibular vein was easily injured no matter in vein dissection or ostectomy.

Objective To discuss the feature of the ultrasonic image of the fetal congenital absence of the radius. Methods Five cases with congenital absence of the radius were examined by colour Doppler sonography and compared with normal fetuses. Results There were four characteristics of ultrasonic imaging:①The length of three radius was 0 cm in the six disabled limbs,others were 4 time s shorter than the normal identical pregnant fetuses. ②All the disabled limbs showed that the forearm was short and bent, and the hand was lopsided. ③All the cases were combined with hydramnios. ④Three abnormal fetuses were combined with other deformies.Conclusions Ultrasound is superior to other methods in diagnosing fetus congenital absence of the radius.

Objective To study the feasibility of ultrasound-guided interventional therapy for parovarian cysts. Methods Diagnostic characteristics of 82 patients preoperatively diagnosed as having parovarian cysts were analyzed, and their clinical parameters were compared between 27 patients receiving ultrasound-guided interventional therapy and 55 patients receiving open or laparoscopic operations. Results Ultrasound examination was the principal means of diagnosis of parovarian cysts. The diagnostic accordance rate was 95.3% (82/86). The operative time, intraoperative blood loss and hospitalization costs in patients receiving ultrasound-guided intervention significantly decreased as compared with those receiving open or laparoscopic operation ( t =-20 798, 65 356, -184 533 , respectively; P =0 000). There were no significant differences in the postoperative recurrence rate and pyrexia rate between the two groups ( ? 2 =0 000, P =1 000; ? 2 =0 373, P =1 000). Conclusions Ultrasound-guided interventional therapy for parovarian cysts is feasible and offers satisfactory effects.

AIM: To compare the clinical effect of Tianshu Capsule(Rhizoma Chuanxiong,Rhizoma Gastrodiae,efc) on migraine with Flunarizine. METHODS: 82 cases of patients with migraine were divided randomly into the treatment group(40 cases),which were treated with oral Tianshu Capsule,4 capsules(1.36 g),3 times daily after meals,and the control group(42 cases),which were treated with Flunarizine(Sibelium) 5 mg quaque nocte,for 2 months.One year follow-up was carried out.The frquency and duration of migraine were analyged before and after treatment,and duration of positive results after withdraw of drugs were also recorded.The body weight,blood and urine routine,liver and kidney function as well as electrocardiograph were compared before and after treatment. Objective To assess the prevalence and presentation of low urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in Chinese men. Methods A random sample was obtained from men dwelling at communities,factories,institutions and colleges in a district in Wuhan City.By completion of the questionnaire and exclusion of individuals with operation and trauma history,2811 men (age range,20～82 years) were assigned into 6 groups according to 10-year age stratum.Frequency of symptoms and severity of discomfort were assessed using the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS). Results The 2811 men accounted for 71.7% of the surveyed population. The occurrence of LUTS was as follows.In 20～29 year group,only 5 (0.6%) of 798 men had mild LUTS (IPSS,1～7).In 30～39 year group,55 (12.1%) of 453 men had mild LUTS.In 40～49 year group,143 (26.6%) of 537 men had LUTS;of them 118 were of mild LUTS,20 of moderate (IPSS,8～19),5 of severe (IPSS,20～35).In 50～59 year group,244 (52.5%) of 465 men had LUTS;of them 109 were of mild,117 of moderate,18 of severe.In 60～69 year group,240 (65.6%) of 366 men had LUTS;of them 78 were of mild,138 of moderate,24 of severe.In≥70 year group,162 (84.4%) of 192 men had LUTS;of them 47 were of mild,68 of moderate,47 of severe.Differences between age groups in incidence rates of LUTS were significant (?2=998.385,P
