Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2013;(10):54-57
Objective To explore the ultrasonographic, clinical and histopathological characteristics features of primary uterus lymphoma. Methods The clinical, sonographic and histopathological characteristics of nine patients who were pathologically comfirmed as primary uterus lymphoma were analyzed. Results Among the nine cases of primary uterus lymphoma, three lesions were found in the uterine bodys and 6 were found in the cervixes. Two patients with uterine body lymphoma had painless pelvic masses and six patients with cervix lymphoma had contact bleeding, including irregular vaginal bleeding in four patients. In sonograms, six lesions showed remarkable hypoechogenicity with homogeneous internal echogenicity;the margins of most lesions were circumcribed;all lesions had posterior enhancement. In color Doppler lfow imaging, abundant vascularities were detected in eight lesions. In the cases of uterine body lymphoma, all of the uterine bodys showed diffuse symmetrical enlargement without disruption of the endometria, while in ifve cases of cervix lymphoma, the tumors showed the shape of lobule. The pathological examination showed that all tumors were diffuse B-cell type non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Conclusions Primary uterus lymphoma has some clinical and ultrasonic features, including contact bleeding or irrgular vaginal bleeding, diffuse symmetrical enlargement of uterine body, complete endometria, remarkable hypoechogenicity, homogeneous echogenicity and posterior enhancement. Final diagnosis depends on the histopathology.

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of 2 mg/d and 4 mg/d of terazosin in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).Methods A total of 120 BPH patients were randomly divided into 2 groups receiving 2 mg or 4 mg terazosin per day for 2 months. Arterial blood pressure, International Prostatic Symptom Score (IPSS) and peak flow rate (Qmax) before and after treatment were compared while side effects were estimated. Results Forty-six patients receiving 2 mg and 54 patients receiving 4 mg terazosin completed this study. Patients' age and pre-treatment blood pressure, IPSS and Qmax had no difference between the 2 groups. The improvement of IPSS (including obstructive score, irritating score and total IPSS) and Qmax was significantly better in 4 mg group. The percentage of patients experiencing greater than 30% improvement in Qmax in the 4 mg treatment groups was significantly higher than that of the 2 mg group (46.3% vs 23.9%, P=0.02). Side effects were rare and mild in both groups. Conclusion The improvements of IPSS and Qmax are significantly greater in 4 mg treatment of terazosin than that of 2 mg with no obvious increase of side effects.

Aim To construct the cell model targeted on the damage by α-synuclein for screening anti-Parkinson’s Disease (PD)compounds. Methods The cDNA fragment of α-synucle-in gene was obtained by PCR methods and inserted into the re-combinant prokaryotic plasmid by molecular cloning technique. The recombinant plasmid was transformed into Escherichia coli, and subsequently induced to express α-synuclein protein. The recombinant α-synuclein was purified and identified by affinity chromatography, immunoblotting and mass spectrometry. The cells damage by α-synuclein was evaluated through cell viability measured by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl )-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide. Results The obtained cDNA fragment ofα-synuclein in accordance with its theoretic molecular weight was cloned into pET30a plasmid and verified by sequencing. The re-combinant plasmid was transformed into bacteria E.Coli.BL21 (DE3)and induced to express α-synuclein by isopropyl β-D-1 -thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG).The expression condition was op-timized according to the culture temperature, the concentration of IPTG and the proliferation state of bacteria. The purified α-synu-clein was proved to be a 1 5.3 ku molecule weight protein, and could be immunoblotted with anti-α-synuclein antibody. The pu-rified α-synuclein could decrease the viability of PC1 2 cells and primary neurons significantly, and its effect was in a concentra-tion-dependent manner. Conclusion We have succeeded in constructing the cell model targeted on the damage by α-synucle-in.
