1.Study on infinity optical thickness of SY-1 silicone elastomers

Objective: To find out the infinity optical thickness of SY-1 silicone elastomers when color difference(△E) is equal to 1.5 . Methods: Silicone elastomer samples with thickness from 0.5 mm to 10 mm of SY-1 silicone elastomer were measured by CIE-1976-L *a *b * relative to CIE source against a white and a black background by using Minolta colorimeter . Color difference was calculated as △E=[(△L *) 2+( △a *) 2+(△b *) 2] 1/2 . The infinity optical thickness of SY-1 silicone elastomer when △E=1.5 was calculated by regression formulation. Result: When △E was equal to 1.5, the infinity optical thickness of SY-1 silicone elastomer was 7.60 mm. Conclusion: In order to get ideal effect the supports should be treated with colorant when the thickness of silicone elastomer covering the surface of supports in maxillofacial prostheses is thinner than 7.60 mm.

Using the animal model of acute myocardial infarction of rabbit after left coronary artery ligation, the authors studied the reltionship between the change of myocardial K~+/Na~+ ,Mg~(2+)/Ca~(2+), and Zn~(2+)/Cu~(2+) ratio and the time after acute myocardial infarction. The results demonstrated that. (1)the K+/Na~+ and Mg~(2+)/Ca~(2+)ratio dropped with prolongation of time myocardial ischemia. There was significant (P0.05)difference of Zn~(2+)/Cu~(2+) ratio between the experimental groups and the control group, but Zn~(2+)/Cu~(2+) ratio showed a tendency of dropping with prolongation of time of ischemia in the experimental group. The association between fasting plasma ghrelin levels and insulin resistance and blood pressure (BP) in octogenarians was investigated in this study. A total of 487 unrelated octogenarians (including 203 men and 284 women) were enrolled in this cross-sectional study at the Healthy Care Center of Shanghai East Hospital, Tongji University, China, from October 2008 to April 2009. Plasma ghrelin was determined by using the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Insulin sensitivity was assessed using the homeostasis model of assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). The age of the participants ranged from 80 to 89 years (mean=83.9+/-4.8 years) with a body mass index (BMI) of 25.3+/-4.9 kg/m(2). Plasma ghrelin levels were 20.94+/-5.34 mug/L, being 20.89+/-5.53 mug/L in men and 21.38+/-3.73 mug/L in women respectively. Plasma ghrelin was not associated with systolic (P=0.981) or diastolic (P=0.724) BP, waist circumference (P=0.278), fasting insulin (P=0.246), fasting blood glucose (FBG) (P=0.693) and HOMA-IR (P=0.232). In the control cohort, no significant differences in plasma ghrelin were found between genders (P=0.489), and among subjects with hypertension (BP>140/90 mmHg) (P=0.284) and type 2 diabetes (P=0.776). In conclusion, fasting plasma ghrelin levels are not directly correlated with insulin resistance and BP among octogenarians.
5.A research on the corrosion resistance of Ni-Cr alloy with different coatings

Objective: To evaluate the corrosion resistance of Ni-Cr alloy with different coatings in neutral and acid saliva by electrochemistry method. Methods: Measured the self-corrosion potential (Ecorr) and polarization resistance(Rp) curves of Ni-Cr alloy models with different coatings in neutral and acid artificial salivas. Results: The Ecorr of the Ni-Cr alloys all showed positive values, the electrochemistry corrosion and galvanic corrosion were not detected. Conclusion: Ni-Cr alloy with titanium nitride coating, gold electroplating coating, gold-paste layer and gold-porcelain blended layer have both anti-corrosion and esthetical function without changing its own property.
6.Clinicopathologic study based on 2 056 cases of pulmonary resection of lung adenocarcinoma

Objective The international multidisciplinary lung adenocarcinoma classification was published by IASLC/ ATS/ERS in 2011.This study aimed to explore the clinicopathologic characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma based on IASLC/ATS/ERS classification and validate its clinical diagnostic and therapeutic value.Methods 2 056 cases of surgical resection from Shanghai Chest Hospital were classified according to the new classification and clinical information were retrospectively reviewed.The clinicopathologic characteristics based on new classification were analyzed statistically.Results Our data indicated that women were in high risk of lung adenocarcinoma; The average age of onset was 59-year-old; the female patients were younger than the male patients (58.7 years vs 60.2 years,P < 0.01) ; Average tumor diameter was 2.6 centimeter; right lung was more popular than left and superior lobe than the inferior one.Acinar predominant subtype and papillary predominant subtype were frequently observed.Micropapillary predominant subtype and solid predominant subtype were identified to be more aggressive than other histopathologic subtypes.Most patients were classified as stage Ⅰ(71.7%),which were predominantly stage Ⅰa (53.1%).Conclusion The new classification is superior to reflect the clinicopathologic characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma and satisfy clinical needs,especially contributing to change and update the surgical strategy of early stage lung adenocarcinoma.
7.Analysis of Distribution and Drug Resistance of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in Nosocomial Infection in the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University

Objective To investigate the clinical distribution and the drug resistances of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PAE) during past 3 years in the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, and to provide evidence for clinical treatment of PAE infection.Methods The isolated PAE strains from 2010 to 2012 in the 1st Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were identified and antimicrobial susceptibility tests were performed using the MIC and the KB method,and thus, the ward distribution and the drug resistance rates and the changing trend were respectively analyzed by WHONET 5.5 software, and statistically analyzed with SPSS 17.0 SOFTWARE. Results Within the three years, a total of 208 strains, 260 strains and 280 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated separately in 2010,2011and 2012. A total of 746 PAE strains were isolated in 3 years,in which the most common specimens were sputum (79.8%), followed by the throat swab (7.6%) and the urine (6.2%) . When it came to the ward distribution , ICU was the primary, which accounted for (32.4%), followed by the department of cadre sanatorium (27.7%), the department of respiratory medicine (12.2%) and the department of neurosurgery (6.8%) . Besides imipenem, Cefoperazone-sulbactam and aztreonam, the others were obviously in a decreasing trend in drug resistances. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the resistances rates of imipenem were ( 65.2%) , ( 74.2%) and ( 69.5%) , respectively, the resistances rates of Cefoperazone-sulbactam were (48.0%), (48.7%) and (55.8%), and the the resistances rates of aztreonam were (72.2%), (78.2%) and (72.4%) . Amikacin,piperacillin-tazobactam,Cefoperazone-sulbactam were the most active antimicrobial agents against P.aeruginosa. Conclusions The PAE is an important source of infection, ICUs are the focus of interest for resistance monitoring and control. Antimicrobial resistance of PAE is fairly serious. Clinicians should select appropriate antibiotic therapy based on sensitivity testing.The therapeutic strategy should he adapted according to the local ecology of resistance to control the epidemic of the drug- resistance strains and hospital infection.
8.Comparison of dosimetry in radiotherapy for craniospinal irradiation

Objective To explore the dosimetry of simplified intensity modulated radiotherapy (sIMRT)in the spinal component of craniospinal irradiation(CSI)compared with conventional plan(3D-CRT).Methods Five previously treated patients were adopted to generate 3D-CRT,3-and 5-field slMRT plans.The prescribed dose was 36 Gy to the planning target volume(PTV)in 20 fractions.The dose distributions of target volume and normal tissues,and homogeneity index(HI)were ananlyzed using the dose volume histogram.The total monitor units(MUs)were also analyzed to compare the delivery time indirectly.Results For 3D-CRT plans,the region of the neighbouring fields only received 70% of the prescribed dose,and the maximum dose delivered in the normal tissues was increased to approximately 140% of the prescribed dose.The homogeneity index(HI)of 3-and 5-field sIMRT were 0.09 ± 0.01 and 0.08 ±0.01,respectively,superior to that of 3D-CRT(0.18 ± 0.02,t=7.80,7.65,P<0.05).The values of V10 for the heart of 3-and 5-field sIMRT were(8.4 ± 1.9)% and(8.4 ± 2.0)%,respectively,lower than that of 3D-CRT((36.0 ± 6.0)%(t=13.3,13.0,P<0.05).V20 for the thyroid gland were (12.4±1.5)% and(12.4±1.6)%,respectively,lower than(69.4±5.7)% of 3D-CRT(t=26.3,26.4,P<0.05).V20 for the larynx were(17.2 ± 1.2)% and(17.9 ± 1.5)%,respectively,lower than that of 3D-CRT[(89.4±7.0)%(t=25.5,26.5,P<0.05)].V30for the NTwas(4.4±1.4)%,(4.9± 1.9)%,lower than that of 3 D-CRT[(31.9 ± 6.1)%(t=8.5,10.1,P<0.05)].The averaged values of total MUs for 3-and 5-field sIMRT were 1100 ± 177 and 1160 ±204,respectively,higher than that of 3D-CRT(640 ± 151).Conclusions Compared with the 3D-CRT CSI technique,3-and 5-field sIMRT have better dose distribution and can improve target dose uniformity and protect the organs at risk.

C ircRNA has a cell-type-specific expression w ith great stability and a high expression level, w hich m akes it m eaningful in forensic applications potentially.
