Objective To explore the ultrasonographic, clinical and histopathological characteristics features of primary uterus lymphoma. Methods The clinical, sonographic and histopathological characteristics of nine patients who were pathologically comfirmed as primary uterus lymphoma were analyzed. Results Among the nine cases of primary uterus lymphoma, three lesions were found in the uterine bodys and 6 were found in the cervixes. Two patients with uterine body lymphoma had painless pelvic masses and six patients with cervix lymphoma had contact bleeding, including irregular vaginal bleeding in four patients. In sonograms, six lesions showed remarkable hypoechogenicity with homogeneous internal echogenicity;the margins of most lesions were circumcribed;all lesions had posterior enhancement. In color Doppler lfow imaging, abundant vascularities were detected in eight lesions. In the cases of uterine body lymphoma, all of the uterine bodys showed diffuse symmetrical enlargement without disruption of the endometria, while in ifve cases of cervix lymphoma, the tumors showed the shape of lobule. The pathological examination showed that all tumors were diffuse B-cell type non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Conclusions Primary uterus lymphoma has some clinical and ultrasonic features, including contact bleeding or irrgular vaginal bleeding, diffuse symmetrical enlargement of uterine body, complete endometria, remarkable hypoechogenicity, homogeneous echogenicity and posterior enhancement. Final diagnosis depends on the histopathology.

OBJECTIVE To explore the method of replacing nasal packing after septoplasty. METHODS A total of 158 patients who had undergone septoplasty were included in this study. The patients were randomly allocated into two groups: packing group and suturing group. Postoperative signs and symptoms were compared between the two groups by visual analogue scale(VAS). RESULTS The patients of packing group experienced significantly more postoperative nasal pain, headache, epiphora, tinnitus/ear fullness, sleep disturbance after surgery(all P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences between two groups in terms of nasal congestion, hemorrhage, septal hematoma, nasal septum perforation and local infection(all P>0.05). CONCLUSION Nasal septum continuous suture is a simple technique to decrease patients' suffering. It does not increase the complications and is a feasible method to replace nasal packing after septoplasty.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(04):-
Objective:To analyse the drug resistance of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(Sm) for rational application of antibiotics in clinics. Methods:Antimicrobial susceptibility tests were processed by K-B method, metallo-?-lactamases (MBLs) were screened by synergic method, and extended-spectrum ?-lactamases (ESBL) were detected by double disk synergy test. Results:42 Sm strains were completely resistant to imipenem, highly resistant to cefotaxime (CTX), amikacin (AMK), aztreonam (ATM) and piperacillin-tazobactam (TZP) (the resistance rates were 92%,83%,78% and 64%, respectively). They showed low resistance rates to sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim(SMZ/TMP), cefoperazone/sulbactam(CFS), ciprofloxacin (CIP) and ticarcillin/clavulanate (TIM)(26%,16%,12% and 9%, respectively). There were 71.43% strains of Sm producing ESBL, 80.95% producing MBL, and 57.14% producing both ESBL and MBL. Conclusion:There are many kinds of mechanism contributing to the drug resistance of Sm, to which more attention should be paid by clinicians.

Objective To describe and analyze the clinical characters of patients with FRG from 7 Chinese families. Then analyze and identify their mutations in SGLT2 gene, and explore the association of genotype and phenotype. Methods Quantitative test for 24-hour urine glucose and other laboratory tests were carried out among 7 probands (14 patients in all) and their family members from 7 pedigrees (totaling 23 subjects). All coding regions, including intron-exon boundaries, were analyzed using PCR followed by direct sequence analysis. Results Five novel mutations in SLC5A2 gene were identified in this investigation, including four missense mutations (A Serine to Glycine at position 335 (c.1003A>G,p.S335G),a Glutamine to Arginine at position 448 (c.1343A > G,p.Q448R),an alanine to proline at position 474 (p.A474P,c.1420G > C) and a glycine to aspartic acid at position 580 (c.1739G > A,p.G580D) and a deletion in intron 7 (c.886(-10_-31)del).By the minigene studies using the pSPL3 plasmids,we confirmed the deletion c.886(-10_-31)del as a splicing mutation. In this study, the mutation c.886(-10_-31)del accounted for about 43% of the total alleles (12/28).These patients with compound heterozygous or homozygous mutations manifested middle degree or severe glycosuria (Quantitative test for 24-hour urine glucose:10.56-50.68 g/1.73 m2),however those with heterozygous variants presented with mild to moderate glycosuria (Quantitative test for 24-hour urine glucose ≤ 2.45 g/1.73 m2).This fits co-dominant inheritance pattern. Conclusions Five novel mutations which may be related to FRG are found in this study, and c.886(-10-31) del may be a high frequency mutation in Chinese patients.
