Objective To evaluate the effect of colquhounia root tablet on the expression of tight junction proteins claudin-5 and ZO-1 in the renal tissues of rats with acute lung injury (ALI).Methods Twenty-four healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 250-300 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =8 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),ALI group;and colquhounia root tablet group (group H).Oleic acid 0.04 ml/kg was injected into the trail vein to establish the model of ALI.In group H,colquhounia root tablet 600 mg · kg-1 · d-1 was instilled into the stomach of each rat for 10 consecutive days, and oleic acid was injected at 1 h after instillation on 10th day.Blood samples were collected from the abdominal aorta at 6 h after injection of oleic acid for determination of plasma creatine (Cr) and blood urine nitrogen (BUN) concentrations. The animals were then sacrificed. The lungs were removed for determination of wet/dry lung weight ratio (W/D ratio),and for examination of the pathological changes. The kidneys were removed for determination of the expression of claudin-5 and ZO-1 (by immunohischemistry assay and Western blot) and for examination of the pathological changes. The damage to the renal tubules was scored. Results Compared with group C,W/D ratio, plasma Cr and BUN concentrations, and renal tubular damage score were significantly increased, and the expression of claudin-5 and ZO-1 was down-regulated in group ALI (P<0.01).Compared with group ALI,W/D ratio, plasma Cr and BUN concentrations, and renal tubular damage score were significantly decreased, and the expression of claudin-5 and ZO-1 was up-regulated in group H (P<0.01).The pathological changes of lungs and kidneys were significantly attenuated in group H as compared with group ALI.Conclusion Colquhounia root tablet can attenuate kidney injury through up-regulating the expression of tight junction proteins claudin-5 and ZO-1 in the renal tissues of rats with ALI.

Cumulative evidence demonstrated that the chromatin modification plays important roles in the processes of DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination. Both of the generation of DNA lesions and the activation of DNA damage response (DDR) to ionizing radiation could be affected by the chromatin modifications. This paper reviewed the recent research progresses in the chromatin structure modifications and its role in DDR,especially the influence of characteristic chromatin structure and histone modification on the radiation sensitivity of tumor cells.

Objective To explore pre-service training model and its efficacy for medical undergraduate interns. Methods Anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted for 50 medical undergraduates by teaching management staff. Results Totally 62% students thought that pre-practice training was necessary,62% students commented that the arrangement of this pre-practice training was reasonable and feasible, more than 95% students supported the content and form of this training and more than 95% students believed that pre-practice training can culture the sense of organizational discipline, foster favorable doctor-patient relationship and promote clinical knowledge and skill acquisition. In general, medical undergraduates had high degree of recognition after systematic training. Conclusion A set of standardized pre-practice training programs should be summarized and constantly be refined and improved so as to ensure the training quality.

OBJECTIVE:To promote the clinical application and improve the curative effect of serum concentration.METHODS:In a retrospective review, the serum drug concentrations of 487 outpatients and inpatients of our hospital treated with 3 kinds of anti-epileptics included valproic acid, phenytoin and carbamazepine were analyzed.RESULTS:Among 487 samples, there were 248 cases(50.92%) whose serum concentration were in normal range,177 cases (36.34%) in low range and 51 cases(10.47%) in high range. Also, there were 11 cases(2.26%) whose serum concentration could not be monitored. The percentage of patients treated with valproic acid, carbamazepine and phenytoin whose serum concentrations in normal range were 48.18%,74.29% and 10.87%.CONCLUSION:The serum concentration monitoring of Anti-epileptic is the important measure which provide the basis for adopting individualized administration and ensures the clinical effect and safety in the medical care.
7. Effect of active peptides of Eupolyphaga on intestinal flora in rats with hyperlipemia
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2020;36(5):621-626
Aim To investigate the effect of active peptide of Eupolyphaga (APE) on changes of intestinal flora and blood lipid in rats with hyperlipidemia. Methods SD rats fed with high-fat diet were induced to hyperlipemia model. Simvastatin being a positive drug, ELISA was used to investigate the effect of APE on blood lipids in hyperlipidemic rats. At the same time, the results of the microbial flora about APE model rats were measured using 16rS high-throughput assay technology (V4-V5). Results APE could significantly reduce the serum lipid index in model rats and improve the degree of liver pathological changes. Meanwhile, the intestinal flora results showed that when the relative abundance of hymenoscyphus, lactobacillus and bifidobacterium in firmicutes were enriched, the relative abundances of rumenococcus, plasmodium and prevotella in bacteroidetes and tenericutes were reduced. Conclusions APE could obviously reduce the level of blood lipid and repair the disordered intestinal flora of hyperlipidemia rats. It can be speculated that APE might play a role in lowering blood lipids through the intervention of lipid metabolism pathway by intestinal flora.

Objective To explore rational surgical treatment for rectal villous adenoma with canceration. Methods Sixty-two cases of rectal villous adenoma with canceration undergoing different surgical procedures were analyzed retrospectively. Among them 28 underwent local excision including 20 with transanal resection and 8 with Kraske resection; Thirty-four underwent extended excision consisted of 11 Miles operation, 21 with Dixon operation and 2 with other procedures. Results Among 62 cases, 82%(51/62)were in early stage. 68%(42/62) and 26%(16/62) of the patients were of high and middle differentiation in pathology respectively. Six cases suffered from recurrence or metastasis in both local and extended excision groups. The 5-year survival rate after local and extended excision were 79% and 76% respectively. Conclusions Most rectal villous adenomas with malignant change were less invasive; Prudent selection of surgical modality is both effective and less dangerous for the treatment of this entity.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the role of multi-slice CT(MSCT) reconstruction in the diagnosis of intracranial foreign bodies.MethodsMSCT scans were performed in 16 patients with intracranial foreign bodies. The volumetric data were reconstructed in the workstation. 5 patients were detected by CT angiography (CTA) examination. Imaging results were then compared with findings found during surgery.Results11 foreign bodies located in one brain lobe, 3 passed two brain lobes, 2 located in ventricle. Among them, 6 cases were closed to parietal including 2 cases closed to cerebral arterial circle. 14 patients were operated and extirpated 18 foreign bodies. Compared with surgical findings, the orientative accuracy of reconstruction imaging was 100%, qualitative accuracy was 85.7%.ConclusionMSCT reconstruction may display the intracranial foreign bodies from multi-angles. It is propitious to know the characteristics, location and whole shape of the foreign bodies for the surgeon before the operation, accordingly to make a best operation project.

Objective To explore the expression of c-Fos protein and character of mossy fiber sprouting(MFS) in hippocampus of rat with febrile seizures(FS).Methods Thirty-six 21-day-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into FS group, febrile control(FG) group and normal control(NG) group.FS was established by hyperthermal bath.Immune histochemistry and(Timm′s) staining were used to examine the expression of c-Fos protein in CA1 region and MFS in CA3 region of hippocampus. Results Excessive expression of c-Fos protein presented in the hippocampal CA1 region of FS group. The surface area percentage of c-Fos protein of FS group[(2.26?0.23)%] was higher than that of FG group[(1.08?0.19)%] and NG group[(0.71?0.14)%],there were significant difference between FS group and the other two groups(?~2=10.48 P
