Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal 1998;(4):237-
OBJECTIVE: To study the dissolution amounts of aciclovir (ACV) from differently based preparations and provide the evidence for the development of new preparation of ACV. METHOD: The dissolution tester was applied for the quantitative determination of ACV released from 3 based formulations and 5 concentrations samples. The release amount per unit area (M) and the accumulative release percentage (Q) were compared respectively. RESULTS: The value for M was raised with the increase of the concentration of aciclovir in preparations, and for Q was reduced. The release rates of the aciclovir gel were at least two times faster than the creams and the ointment. CONCLUSION: The drug dissolution from ACV gel was better than the creams and the ointment. 10 gkg-1 ACV in prearation was the suitable concentration.

ObjectiveTo observe the effects of the two kinds of rigid fixed bridge design on the stress of the alveolar bone of mandibular first molar after hemisection.MethodsThe normal mandibular first molars were selected as control group. The two-abutment teeth and three-abutment teeth rigidly fixed bridge designs were selected as trial group. Stress distributions in the remaining sections of the alveolar bone models were evaluated with photoelastic stress analysis method.ResultsThe stress values of two kinds of rigid fixed bridge design were higher than the control group but still below the twice. There was no significantly difference between two-abutment teeth rigidly fixed bridge design and three-abutment teeth rigidly fixed bridge design (P>0.05).ConclusionTwo-abutment teeth rigidly fixed bridge of mandibular first molar should be chosen after hemisection.

In the present study, the genomic sequence characteristics of HN-JY40 strains of the hepatitis E virus (HEV) isolated from pigs in Henan Province, China, were analyzed and the evolutionary relationship between HN-JY40 and other sequenced strains examined. The whole genome of HN-JY40 was sequenced and analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, 3' rapid amplification of cDNA ends (3' RACE) and 5' RACE. Bioinformatic analyses were carried out with Megalign, Expasy, clustal x, and MEGA 4 software. The genome of HN-JY40 was 7 223 bp in size upon removal of polyA sequences. Sizes were 9 bp and 69 bp at 5' and 3' noncoding regions, respectively. The genome of HN-JY40 was predicted to contain three open reading frames (ORFs): ORF1 (5 124 bp) encoding 1 707 amino acids; ORF2 (2 025 bp) encoding 674 amino acids; ORF3 (345 bp) encoding 114 amino acids. Phylogenetic-tree analyses indicated that HN-JY40 is a typical type-IV virus that belongs to a new subgenotype of HEV genotype 4. We sequenced and analyzed the whole genome of HN-JY40. This strategy elicited the genomic characteristics of the HEV isolated from pigs in Henan Province as well as the evolutionary relationships between HN- JY40 and other HEV isolates from pigs. We revealed that the ORF1 of HN-JY40 (153-432 nt) and human HK 104-2004 had high similarity, which offers molecular evidence for uncovering the interspecies transmission of the HEV.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2011;19(5):302-306
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of indomethacin on insulin resistance and metabolic response to surgical injury in patients with gastrointestinal tumor.MethodsFifty-eight cases with gastric cancer or colon cancer were divided into an indomethacin group (n =28) and a control group (n =30).All the operations were performed under general anesthesia.Patients in both groups were given parenteral nutrition 24 hours after operation for 5 ~ 7 days. The patients in the indomethacin group were treated with indomethacin suppository ( 100 mg/12 h).Fasting blood glucose (FBG),fasting serum insulin (FINS),creatinine (Cr),blood urine nitrogen (BUN),triglyceride (TG),free fatty acid (FFA) and C-reactive protein (CRP) of the two groups were detected on the day before operation, and 24,72,120 hours after operation.Insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) was calculated by using the homeostasis model assessment (HOMA).The vital signs were observed in 72 hours after operation.ResultsThe vital signs in the indomethacin group were more steady. The levels of FBG,FINS,and InHOMA-IR of the control group 24 hours and 72 hours after operation were higher than before operation ( all P =0.000) and those of the indomethacin group ( all P <0.01 ).In both of the two groups, the levels of Cr,BUN,TG,and FFA were higher than those before operation, but declined over time. All the indexes in the indomethacin group 120 hours after operation decreased significantly compared with the levels 24 hours after operation ( all P =0.000 ),as well as with the levels in the control group 120 hours after operation ( all P < 0.05 ).No significant difference was found in the level of CRP between the two groups and between before and after operation.ConclusionIndomethacin could reduce the postoperative stress hyperglycemia and insulin resistance in patients with gastrointestinal tumor.

BACKGROUND: There are so many experimental and clinical researches on levels of nitrogen monoxide (NO) in serum and endothelins in plasma of patients with stroke; however, ratio and significance between them are still unclear.OBJECTIVE: To observe dynamic changes of levels of NO in serum and endothelins in plasma of patients with stroke.DESIGN: Case-controlled observation.SETTING: Neurological Department and Clinical Neurological Laboratory of the Second Hospital affiliated to Suzhou University.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 216 patients with acute cerebral infarction including 133 males and 83 females and 112 cases with cerebral hemorrhage including 68 males and 44 females were selected from Neurological Department of the Second Hospital affiliated to Suzhou University from September 1999 to December 2001. Another 106 subjects including 63males and 43 females were regarded as healthy control group.METHODS: Contents of NO in serum and endothelins in plasma were measured on 328 patients with stroke and 106 healthy subjects in the courses of 1-3 days, 1, 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks with nitrate reductase and radio-immunity methods, respectively.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Contents of NO in serum and endothelins in plasma; ratio between NO in serum and endothelins in plasma (NO/endothelins).RESULTS: ① As compared with those in the control group, content of NO in serum of patients with cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage was decreased and reached the lowest value during acute period (within 1-3 days), and then increased gradually and closed to the normal level at about 4 weeks. In addition, content of endothelins in plasma was increased obviously during acute period, reached the peak at 2 weeks, and then decreased gradually. The level was still high at stage of recovery and closed to normal value within 4-8 weeks. ② As compared with that in the control group, NO/endothelins was decreased in cerebral infarction group at the courses of 1-3 days (P < 0.05), reached the lowest value at 1 week (P < 0.001), and increased to the normal level at 2 weeks. Moreover,NO/endothelins was remarkably decreased in cerebral hemorrhage group at the courses of 1-3 days (P < 0.001), reached the lowest value at 1week (P < 0.001), and increased gradually. The changes of course were great and the level reached above normal value at 8 weeks. There was significant difference of dynamic changes of NO/endothelins between cerebral hemorrhage group and cerebral infarction group (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: NO and endothelins play an important role in onset and development of ischemic cerebrovascular disease and hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease, and their contents are related to prognosis.
