OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Qiling Decoction (QD) combined highly active antiretroviral treatment (HAART) on expression levels of peripheral blood Th17 and Treg cells in HIV/AIDS patients.
METHODSTotally 55 HIV/AIDS patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (28 cases) and the combination group (27 cases). Besides, 21 HIV negative patients were recruited as the healthy control group. Those in the treatment group received HARRT alone, while those in the combination group received HAART combined QD. The observation lasted for 24 weeks. Meanwhile, according to peripheral blood CD4+ T cell counts before treatment, HIV/AIDS patients were assigned to three subgroups. For patients in subgroup 1, 1 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 100 cells/microL; For patients in subgroup 2, 101 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 200 cells/lL; For patients in subgroup 3, 201 cells/microL < CD4+ T cell counts < or = 350 cells/microL. Expression of peripheral blood Th17 and Treg cells, and number of CD4+ T cell counts were detected using flow cytometry (FCM)in HIV/AIDS patients at the pre-treatment baseline, week 4, 12, and 24, as well as those in the healthy control group.
RESULTSCompared with the healthy control group, CD4+ T cell counts and the baseline expression level of Th17 cells in the peripheral blood of HIV/AIDS patients significantly decreased, the expression level of Treg cells significantly increased P < 0.01). Compared with before treatment in the same group, CD4+ T cell counts all increased at week 4, 12, and 24 in the two treatment groups, showing statistical difference (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). There was no statistical difference in the effective rate at various CD4+ T cell levels between the two groups (P > 0.05). There was no statistical difference in expression levels of Th17 and Treg cells between the combination group and the treatment group at any time point (all P >0.05). The Th17/Treg ration significantly increased in the combination group after 24 weeks of treatment, showing statistical difference when compared with the treatment group (U = 2.135, P = 0.038).
CONCLUSIONQD could improve the immune balance of Th17/Treg cells, which might be one of its mechanisms for improving HIV/AIDS patients' immunity.

Compared with living spray method, it focused on the investigation of different inoculation methods, various inoculation concentration and the influence of different seeding age on soft rot-resistance in Jinxianlian. The results showed that (1) Inoculated with dropping connection, the difference of disease index between A. roxburghii and A. formosanus was grate, so that the disease-resistance could be obviously distinguished. (2) When the inoculation concentration was 1.0 x 10(7) cfu x mL(-1), the difference of disease index was relatively obvious and the disease-resistance could be differentiated well. (3) At the moment of 4-month seeding inoculation, a certain difference of the disease index between A. roxburghii and A. formosanus was existed, so, relatively, it could accurately reflect the resistance difference between various species. With the inoculation of dropping connection, A. roxburghii and A. formosanus of 4-month seeding age was put in the bacteria suspension of inoculation concentration of 1.0 x 10(7) cfu x mL(-1). The identification was taken up after 5 days in the incubator under the condition of 14 h daylight and 28 degrees C. The identification result was conformed with that of the living spray method. To investigate the identification method of in vitro evaluation of soft rot-resistance of Jinxianlian so as to provide the foundation for germplasm utilization and excellent cultivars breeding.

Objective To analyze the efficacy of different treatment methods for end-stage hepatic alveolar echinococcosis combined with obstructive jaundice. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on the diagnosis and treatment of 55 patients with end-stage hepatic alveolar echinococcosis combined with obstructive jaundice managed from January 2000 to January 2013 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. The patients were divided into two groups according to the treatment options:group A,the palliative surgery group (n =38,69.1%) using palliative resection and biliary decompression ; and group B,the interventional group (n =17,30.9%) using percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD).We analyzd the general data, preoperative and postoperative liver function, operation time, blood loss, average hospital stay, duration of postoperative tube drainage of abscess cavity, degree of lesion with invasion into the first porta hepatis, progressive lesion, continuous invasion and/or distant metastasis, biliary complications, mortality, and cumulative survival rates. The t-test or t'-test was used to analyze continuous data and the chi-square test was used to analyze categorical data.Parallel log rank test and Kaplan-meier method were used to calculate survival rates in survival analysis. Results When compared with group B,group A had significantly longer operative time, more blood loss, and longer average hospital stay (P <0.05).The postoperative total bilirubin, direct bilirubin,γ-glutamyl transpeptidase and alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase were significantly higher than in group B (P <0.05).The level of post operative albumin was lower in group A than in group B.The two groups of patients (A and B) had similar background including general data (gender, age, nation),preoperative liver function, duration of postoperative tube-drainage of abscess cavity, degree of lesion-invasion into first porta hepa tis, progressive lesion-invasion and/or distant metastasis, biliary complications, mortality, cumulative survival rates and survival curves. Conclusions Interventional treatment is an effective treatment for end-stage hepatic alveolar echinococcosis combined with obstructive jaundice. It has the advantages of minimal invasiveness, simplicity, safety and repeatability. It may replace traditional palliative surgery in the future.

Field operations, work and war on plateau is an important part of future war. It is necessary to study the early treatment and evacuation of scull injury. Research and survey were made in 7 field hospitals and hundreds of records were summaried before treatment criterion in early phase was put forward for patients on plateau as well as the evacuation in different level and stage, which aims to actively save patients' lives within limited time and reduce the death rate and prevent deformity. References are provided for war, training, and construction in battlefield.

Objective To investigate the double T tube drainage method in the treatment of hepatic echinococcosis which ruptured into the common bile duct. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 86 patients who were treated surgically for hepatic echinococcosis which had ruptured into the common bile duct at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from June 2012 to December 2014.The average postoperative hospitalization, postoperative complications (residual cavity bile leakage and residual cavity effusion, residual cavity infection) and biliary complications of biliary tract infection were analyzed. Results Significant differences were found on the postoperative residual cavity complications in group A:(2,7.1%) when compared with Group B:(9,15.5 %),and also on the postoperative hospitalization between the double T tube drainage group [group A:(7.1 ± 1.3) d] and the traditional T type tube decompression group [B group:(8.2 ± 1.5) d] (P < 0.05).Conclusions The doubleT tube drainage in the treatment of hepatic echinococcosis which had ruptured into the common bile duct was simple, safe and effective. This treatment could completely cure residual cavity bile leakage, and it had the advantage of avoiding occurrence of common bile duct related complications caused by the traditional suture method for bile leakage.

The influence factors for hydrogen production using photosynthetic bacteria group were studied. The effects of carbon sources, nitrogen sources, carbon concentration, nitrogen concentration, initial pH value, illumination mode and inoculation amount on hydrogen production were investigated by experiment of single factor and orthogonal experiment. The optimum process conditions were as follows: the best bacteria group was number 3, the glucose was carbon source and concentration of carbon source was 3 g/L; the urea was nitrogen source and concentration of nitrogen source was 9 g/L; the inoculation amount was 10%; initial pH value was 8.5; the illumination mode was 12 h light and 12 h dark alternation; incubation temperature was 30?C. The main factors affecting hydrogen production were strain, carbon sources, carbon source concentration and nitrogen suorces.
