Objective To investigate effects of ginkgo biloba extract(GBE) and tanshinoneⅡ A preventative administration against cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injury in gerbils. Methods Cerebral iscthemia and reperfu- sion injury were made by 10 minutes'occlusion of bilateral carotid arteries followed by 24 hours' reperfusion in ger- bils.GBE,tanshinone Ⅱ A,nimodipine or GBE plus tanshinone Ⅱ A were administrated intragastrically 3 days prior to and at the day of ischemia and reperfusion.Effects of experimental agents on mortality, stroke index, brain body index, water content in brain hemisphere, level of SOD activity and MDA in cerebral tissue were measured, and pathological changes of cortex and hippoearnpal CA1 sector were observed. Results GBE 48 mg/kg and tanshinone Ⅱ A 25mg/kg preventive administration could significantly reduce the stroke index, brain body index, and water in brain hemisphere, together with a reduced mortality of cerebral ischemia and reperfusion injuried gerbils. The two a- gents could also significantly improve the activity of SOD,reduce the level of MDA in cerebral tissue and the injury in cortex and hippocampal CA1 sector. Moreover, combined treatment of these two agents demonstrated more signifi- cant effects. Conclusion GBE,tanshinone Ⅱ A and combined therapy of these two agents may protect cerebral func- tion from ischemia and reperfusion injury through reducing the cerebral edema and attenuating the injury of oxygen free radicals.

Objective To investigate the effects of mycoplasma pneumoniae(MP)infection on the exhaled nitric oxide level and lung function in asthmatic children, analyze the correlation between exhaled nitric oxide level and lung function and to provide reference for the treatment and monitoring of asthmatic children. Methods Sixty-eight children aged from 5 to 13 years old with mild or moderate asthma during June 2011 to January 2013 were collected.MP-IgG antibody,MP-IgM antibody,MP-DNA,total serum IgE,FeNO measurement and spirometry were examined on the next day morning. They were divided into two groups according to the pathogen:ashtma with MP group and ashtma without MP group. Then the levels of nitric oxide level and lung function indicators between the two groups were analyzed. Results The FeNO level in ashtma with MP group was significantly higher(P<0.05).There were no differences between two groups in lung function parameters such as FVC,FEV1,FEV1 / Vcmax,MEF25 and MEF50(P>0.05),but differnces were found in MEF75 and PEF(P<0.05).No correlation was found between FeNO levels and lung function parameters(FVC,FEV1,FEV1/Vcmax,MEF50,MEF25,MEF75 and PEF).Conclusion In asthma children with MP infection, the FeNO level was significantly increased and no correlation was found between FeNO levels and lung function.

OBJECTIVE:To establish the HPLC characteristic chromatogram of pheretima, and compare the differences of the main ingredient contents of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima and the chromatogram differences among pheretima and 3 other animal drugs. METHODS:Pheretima HPLC characteristic chromatogram method was adopted to determine the characteris-tic chromatograms of 16 Guangdong pheretima,8 Shanghai pheretima,3 eupolyphaga,3 hirudo and 3 catharsius. Similarity evalua-tion and t test were used to analyze the differences of chromatogram data of 5 animal drugs. RESULTS:The established HPLC char-acteristic chromatogram method firstly identified 11 common characteristic peaks, including 6 nucleosides,4 nucleobase and 1 ami-no acid;and it could be used for the identification of pheretima from eupolyphaga, hirudo and catharsius;the differences of main ingredient contents in the characteristic chromatogram of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima were firstly studied. The contents of xanthine and adenosine in Guangdong pheretima were higher than Shanghai pheretima, while the contents of uridine, guanosine and 2′-deoxy guanosine in Shanghai pheretima were higher than Guangdong pheretima. A new index S,calculated by these 5 constituents, was successfully applied to distinguish the 2 kinds of pheretima. CONCLUSIONS:The characteristic chro-matogram can be used for the identification of pheretima, and can provide reference for the pharmacodynamic differences study of Guangdong pheretima and Shanghai pheretima.

Objective To observe the efficacy of naloxone combined with Buyanghuanwu decoction on cong -nitive function of multi -infarct dementia(MID) patients. Methods 46 patients with MID were treated with Nalox-one Hydrochloride and Buyanghuanwu decoction .Mini -mental state examination ( MMSE ) , activity of daily living ( ADL) scale and hachinski ischemic scale score ( HIS) were used to estimate the therapeutic effect after the treatment for 30 days. Results Compared to 30 days before, the MMSE score and ADL score improved after the treatment (t=3.247,3.469,all P<0.05),and the score of HIS declined (t=3.384,P<0.05).Conclusion Application of nal-oxone combined with Buyanghuanwu decoction can significantly improve congnitive level and ADL function in multi -infarct dementia patients .

Objective To explore the safety of the mobilization of peripheral blood stem cells(PBSC)by granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)in elderly donors. Methods 28 peripheral arteriosclerotic occlusive disease(PAOD)elderly patients(aged≥60 years),and 29 healthy sibling young/adult donors(aged<60 years)for peripheral allogenic stem cell transplantation were included.Blood samples were collected immediately before starting G-CSF and prior to PBSC collection to analyze the following parameters:the WBC counts,fibrinogen(FIB),D-dimer (D-D),thrombin antithrombin complex(TAT),antithrombin(AT)and yon Willebrand factor antigen(vWF:Ag). Results It had a very significant increase in D-D and vWF:Ag and a very significant decrease of AT(P<0.01),af- ter mobilization by G-CSF,and a increase in FIB and TAT were also observed(P<0.05,P<0.01)in elderly group. In the young/aduh group, the increase in FIB was significant(P<0.05).The elevating extent of D-D and TAT after G-CSF administration was significantly higher in elderly group than that in young/adult group(P<0.05).Compared to young/adult group, there was a significant increase in thrombotic events and cerebrovascular ac- cident(P<0.05).Conclusion In PBCS donorsreceiving G-CSF it reveals activation of both coagulation and en- dothelial cells and inhibition of anticoagulant system that can favor the developing of thrombotic events, which is more remarkable in elderly donors. Therefore a careful monitoring for coagulation system should be considered in those elderly cases.

This paper revealed the accumulation regularity of polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extracts contents of Dendrobium officinale leaves, which have provided basis for the development and utilization of the leaves. The polysaccharides and alcohol-soluble extracts contents of three D. officinale strains leaves collected in different growing periods were determined by phenol-sulfric acid method and hot-dip method respectively. The results showed that the content of polysaccharides in leaves was 4.45% -12.17%, and was about a quarter in stems. The alcohol-soluble extracts content in leaves was 7.45% - 29.34%, and was 1.5 times that of stems. The quality variation of polysaccharides in leaves was closely related to the phenophase. The leaves with lower level of metabolism in three stages: winter, early germination stage and deciduous period, which led to lower content of polysaccharides. The leaves at the vigorous growth stage with higher content of polysaccharides. The alcohol-soluble extracts were closely associated to the formation and germination of buds. The content of alcohol-soluble extracts peaked before sprout, and promoted the growth of new shoots.
