Jiujing Tu (Illustration of Moxibustion), excavated from Mo Kao Grotto at Dunhuang, is one of the earliest existing monographs on moxibustion. The medical masters from different schools have focused on this book because it is different from the existing ancient medical works and have not been collected in the medical works of different dynasties. In this study, the literature of Jiujing Tu on five acupoints (Dachangshu, Pangguangshu, Daxiaochangshu, Nieshu and Cigong) relevant with intestinal disorders is collected. It is intended to discuss and analyze the acupoint location, main intestinal disorder, moxibustion characters, recognition on the literature of different dynasties and modern clinical applications. It is believed that the thought of strong moxibustion in the treatment of intestinal disorders advocated in Jiujing Tu has profound impact on the medical development in later generations. It deserves us to have a further digging, collection and promotion of this thought in the modern time.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2015;(5):556-559
Objective To explore the influence of different reconstruction modes with time?weighted respiratory phases on the internal tumor volume ( ITV) of solitary pulmonary lesion ( SPL) , and to evaluate the feasibilities of 8 and 4 equal time?weighted respiratory phases in 4DCT simulation. Methods 24 patients with SPL underwent 4D scanning. Images were reconstructed with 10, 8 and 4 equal time?weighted phases of the respiratory cycles, respectively. Gross tumor volumes ( GTVs ) were delineated on the three sets of reconstructed images and fused into ITVs, which were ITV10 , ITV8 and ITV4 respectively. The differences of volumes, centroid of the ITVs and motions of GTV centroids in three?dimensional directions were compared. Statistical analysis was performed using the Friedman M test. Results The volumes of ITV10 , ITV8 and ITV4 were (9.09±12?29) cm3,(9.10±12?47) cm3 and (8.98±12?61) cm3(P=0?001), respectively. There were no differences between the volumes of ITV10 and ITV8 after the Bonferroni correction ( P=0?721) , while the opposite between those of ITV10 and ITV4 ( P=0?002 ) . The differences of centroid positions of ITV10, ITV8 and ITV4 in x?, y?and z?axes were all less than 1 mm ((12.22±7?71),(12.23± 7?71),(12.22±7?71),Px =0?668);(43.30±29?38),(43.30±29?40),(43.31±29?39),Py =0?643;(5.66±3?67),(5.66±3?67),(5.66±3?67),Pz=0?878), similar to the motions of GTV centroids in three reconstructed modes ((0.69±0?56),(0.69±0?68),(0.79±0?51) mm,Px=0?356;(3.13±3?78),(3.13± 4?05),(3.19±4?06) mm,Py =0?978;(1.18±1?31),(1.03±1?32),(1.16±1?34) mm,Pz=0?302). Conclusions There were no differences in volumes, centroid positions and motions between ITV10 and ITV8 . The quantity of reconstruction images and GTV delineations according to 8 time?weighted phases were both less than conventional 10 phases. 8 time?weighted respiratory phases mode was feasible in 4DCT simulation for SPL.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(21):3361-3366
BACKGROUND:Olfactory ensheathing cells can promote the repair of the central nervous system. Composite engineering materials prepared by the combination of chitosan and col agen have been widely used in the construction of tissue-engineered nerve conduits.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the repair effect of olfactory ensheathing cells and chitosan in the treatment of sciatic nerve injury in rats.
METHODS:Rat models of sciatic nerve injury were prepared. Olfactory ensheathing cells combined with chitosan scaffold were used to connect the injured sciatic nerve. In the chitosan scaffold group, only the chitosan scaffold was utilized. In the control group, no treatment was done.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 1-4 weeks fol owing surgery, sciatic functional index and motion evoked potential were monitored and histological examination was performed. Sciatic functional index was significantly improved in the olfactory ensheathing cells+chitosan scaffold group (P<0.05). Motion evoked potential was significantly lower in the olfactory ensheathing cells+chitosan scaffold group compared with other groups (P<0.001). Histological examinations showed new nerve fibers and rare inflammatory reaction in the olfactory ensheathing cells+chitosan scaffold group. These findings indicate that autologous olfactory ensheathing cells combined with chitosan scaffold exerts good repair effects on treatment of sciatic nerve injury, and can be considered as an ideal tissue engineering material.

Objective To study the role of deferoxamine(DFO)on regulating hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α)expression after hypoxia-ischemia brain damage(HIBD)in neonatal rats,to explore the therapeutic strategy for HIBD. Methods Postnatal day 10 SD rats were divided into four groups: hypoxia-ischemia(HI)group,DFO-treated group, normal saline(NS)-treated group, and sham operation group. HIBD model was established by the ligation of right common carotid artery following the inhalation of nitrogen-oxygen mixtures containing 92% nitrogen and 8% oxygen. DFO-treated group and NS-treated group were treated by intraperitoneal injection of DFO or NS respectively. The brains were collected at 4 h,8 h,and 24 h after hypoxia. HIF-1α protein expression was detected by Western blot analysis, and HIF-1α mRNA expression was detected by using RT-PCR at each time point. Results The synthetic level of HIF-1α protein increased significantly at 4 h,peaked at 8 h,and decreased at 24 h after HI in HI group,as well as NS-treated group. However,in DFO-treated group HIF-1α protein was peaked at 4 h,maintained higher level at 8 h and 24 h after HI. The level of HIF-1α protein was much higher in HI and DFO-treated groups than those in sham controls(P < 0.05). The synthetic level of HIF-1α protein were higher in DFO-treated groups than those in HI groups at each time point(P < 0.05). HIF-1α mRNA expression was higher in DFO-treated groups than those in HI groups at each time point. Conclusions DFO upregulate HIF-1α protein and mRNA expression in neonatal rats with HIBD. The peak of HIF-1α protein expression are also more advanced and lasted longer after DFO-treatment.
