1.Preparation and Quality Control of Gatifloxacin Chitosan Eye Drops
China Pharmacy 2005;0(24):-
OBJECTIVE:To prepare gatifloxacin chitosan eye drops and to establish its quality control.METHODS:The eye drops was prepared with chitosan as the base. The content of gatifloxacin was determined by UV spectrophotometry and the stability of the preparation was detected by initial average accelerated method.RESULTS:The linear range for gati?floxacin was5.0~15.0?g/ml(r=0.9990,n=5),the average recovery rate was98.91%(RSD=1.43%).The activation energy for pyrolytic reaction of gatifloxacin chitosan eye drops was25.91kcal/mol,its shelflife at25℃and10℃were93.8days and950days,respectively.CONCLUSION:The preparation technology is feasible and the quality control method is reliable.

OBJECTIVE:To monitor the antimicrobial resistance of Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium in our hospital from 2006 to 2008 in order to provide reference for clinical rational use of antibiotics.METHODS:The susceptibility of isolated enterococci was determined by K-B paper diffusion method, and the antibiotic resistance rates of Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus Faecium were analyzed using Whonet 5 software.RESULTS:Vancomycin was the most sensitive antimicrobial against Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium.E.faecalis had low resistance rates to penicillin G,high concentration gentamicin, ciprofloxacin and rifampicin, while E.faecium had low resistance rates to high concentration streptomycin, tertracycline, chloromycetin, and qinupristin/dalforpristin.CONCLUSION:E.faecalis and E.faecium are multi-drug resistant.Antimicrobials should be used rationally based on the susceptibility test of E.faecalis and E.faecium.

OBJECTIVE:To prevent and reduce the occurrence of hospital onset of infection of fungus in our hospi-tal.METHODS:The case history of patients with fungus infection in our hospital during the period from October2002to September2004were consulted and analyzed.RESULTS:Of the107patients with fungus infection in our hospital,72%of whom were above the age of60;the predilection sites were respiratory tract which accounted for81.3%,digestive which ac-counted for14.0%and urinary tract which accounted for10.3%;the main pathogenic bacteria were Candida albicans which accounted for92.5%of the total. All of the infected people were found to have used broad-spectrum antibiotics in a large quantity and some had used corticoid drugs.CONCLUSION:Rational drug use of broad-spectrum antibiotics and corticoid is an important means to prevent hospital onset of infection of fungus.
