Objective:In order to ascertain the lateral operation and medial maxillectomy affect on nasal airway.Method:Report 16 cases of nasal cavity or nasal sinus neoplasm who were therapied by lateral rhinotomy and medial maxillectomy.They were observed by acoustic rhinometer (AR) and CT examination in 1～2.5 years after the surgery. Result:The feeling of nasal obstruct were disappeared in 3 months after the surgery. The nasal airway resistance(NAR) of the ill nasal cavity was markedly decreased after the surgery, and the total NAR were decreasing unmarkably. The mucous proliferation was notable only in the first year after surgery, and especially on remains of the inferior turbinate or extra wall of nasal cavity.Conclusion:Lateral rhinotomy operation and medial maxillectomy have less impact on nasal airway and the functions.

Objective To prepare monoclonal antibody against Prostate Stem Cell Antigen(PSCA) and explore the inhibitory effects of Anti-PSCA mAb in treatments of human prostate cancer xenografts in mice. Methods Balb/c mice were immunized by PC-3 cell line. After fusing and screening, the anti-PSCA McAb’s characterizations were determined. Solid tumors in mice were produced by subcutaneous injection with PC-3 cells in the flanks of the mice.We picked out 10 mice bearing human prostate cancer xenografts.They were divided into a treatment group (n_1=5) and a control group (n_2=5).200 ?g Anti-PSCA mAb was injected into abdominal cavity of each mouse of the treatment group and PBS for them of the control group.Anti-PSCA mAb and PBS were administered once every three days for consecutive three times.The mice survival conditions of two groups were recorded during 5 weeks.The serum PSA, the tumor weights and dimensions of survived mice were measured.The tumor volume inhibition rate was calculated. T-test was performed to compare differences of PSA in serum,tumor weights and volumes between the treatment and control groups.Routine pathological slides of tumor tissue were observed under light microscope to evaluate the range of tumor tissues damaged by Anti-PSCA mAb. Ultrastructure was observed with transmission electron microscope. Results A marine McAb was produced, which raised against PSCA,belonged to IgG1 subclass. The average PSA serum level of the two groups were(3.28?0.55)ng/ml and(7.26?0.43)ng/ml.The weights of tumors of the two groups were(0.95?0.17)g and(3.08?0.18)g.The volumes of them were(164.59?14.08)mm3 and(548.49?19.79)mm3.There are remarkable differences between the treatment group and the control group(P

AIM: To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in inflammatory mucosa of lacrimal sac. METHODS: Immunohistochemical S-P method was used to examine the expression of VEGF in the mocusa from 12 patients with chronic dacryocystitis and 8 volunteers. RESULTS: The positive rates of VEGF expression in different parts of the mocusa were: basal lamina: 44.3%+7.6%; surface epithelium: 16.9%?4.6%; connective tissue: 15.2%?4.9%, all normal mocusa of 8 cases were negative. A 74-year-old man presented with yellowish red nodules and plaques on the trunk for more than one year.Physical examination showed more than 20 scattered,irregularly shaped,well-demarcated,yellowish red nodules and plaques measuring 0.5-15 cm in diameter on the trunk.The plaques on the right lower abdomen showed central ulceration and atrophy with scar formation.Plasma protein electrophoresis revealed that the levels of immunoglobulin G (IgG) and kappa light chain were 18.3 g/L and 20.70 g/L respectively.Histopathologically,large necrobiotic areas and granuloma were observed alternately in the dermis and subcutis.There were numerous Touton giant cells,foreign body giant cells and foamy histiocytes in the granuloma,and many cholesterol clefts were found in the center of necrobiotic areas with the formation of lymphoid follicles in some regions.Both eyes of the patient were involved to different degrees.He was diagnosed as necrobiotic xanthogranuloma with IgG kappa paraproteinemia and eve involvement.

Objective To investigate biological characteristics of rat adipose-derived stromal cells(ADSCs) of different ages.Methods ADSCs were isolated by density gradient centrifugation from different age stages,and cultured in vitro.The adherent cells were preserved to passage,the purity of ADSCs was analyzed by immunocytochemistry method,and cell growth was observed,then proliferation capability and cell cycle were detected.Results All the ADSCs obtained from different age stages grew well and showed good morphology and growth characteristics.The proliferation rate of passage cells was higher than that of primary cells,but the proliferation activity reduced with aging,and cell cycle was prolonged.Conclusion The proliferation capability and activity of ADSCs decreased with aging.However,ADSCs of different age stages can all meet the needs of different patients for tissue engineering seed cells.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the echinoderm microtubule associated protein like 4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase (EML4-ALK) and epithelial growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation status and overall survival (OS) in Uygur patients with stageⅣnon-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who did not accept tyrosine kinase inhibitor treat-ment. Methods Totally 97 tissue samples were collected from Uygur patients with stageⅣNSCLC who did not accept tyro-sine kinase inhibitor treatment. EML4-ALK fusion gene and EGFR mutation status were detected by using FISH and ARMS methods. The survival rates were analysed. Results In 97 tissue samples, EML4-ALK fusion genes were found in 6 (6.2%) samples, EGFR mutations were found in 26 (26.8%) samples. The survival analysis showed that there was no significant dif-ference in OS between EML4-ALK fusion gene group and no EML4-ALK fusion gene group (P=0.941). There was no signifi-cant difference in OS between EGFR mutation group and wild-type EGFR group (P=0.607). The values of median OS were 17.7 months, 17.3 months and 16.2 months for EGFR mutant group, EML4-ALK positive group and EML4-ALK negative+EGFR wild-type group, and thre was no significant difference between them (P=0.915). Conclusion Excluding the thera-peutic influence in TKIs, EML4-ALK fusion gene and EGFR mutation status of tumor tissue can not be used as an indepen-dent factor in assessing the prognosis in Uygur patients with stageⅣNSCLC.

Objective To summarize ultrasonograph changes and to investigate the diagnositic value of ultrasonography in pa‐tients with thrombophlebitis in superficial dorsal vein of penis .Methods The ultrasonograph finding and clinical data in 19 patients with thrombophlebitis in superficial dorsal veins of penis diagnosed by clinic were retrospective analyed .Results Compared with normal volunteers ,the internal diameter of patients′venae dorsales penis superficiales were significantly widened (P<0 .01) .Low level echoes were found in superficial dorsal vein of penis and showed strip ,arborization ,semiring and circular shape .It mainly hap‐pened in root segment(63 .2% ,12/19) ,and coronary sulcus was the second one(26 .3% ,5/19) .There were no significant difference in left and right side (P>0 .05) .Conclusion Ultrasonograph was a practicable way to examine dorsal veins of penis and an effec‐tive way for the diagnosis of thrombosis ,which could accurately diagnose thrombophlebitis in superficial dorsal veins of penis .
