Chinese Journal of Neurology 2010;43(12):874-877
Objective To test the safety and efficacy of using Botulinum Toxin Type A(BTX-A)in the treatment of chronic daily headache(CDH). Methods Thirty-eight patients in the treatment group injected BTX-A 50 U at 10 positions at the muscles including frontalis, temporalis, splenius capitis and occipitalis. Forty-four patients in the control group were given 2% lidocaine 3 ml plus prednisolone acetate 75 mg(2 ml)at the same muscles sites as in the treatment group. Frequency of headache, headache intensity(evaluated by visual analogue scale, VAS), quality of life(by WHO Qol-8 questionnaire)and adverse reactions were assessed on 0, 30, 60, 90 days after the treatment. Results At follow-up of 30,60, 90 days, the number of headache days per month reduced in both groups. BTX-A group had 14. 0 ±7.8, 13. 0 ±6. 8 and 13.0 ±6. 4 days per month, while the control group had 19. 0 ±6. 1, 21.0 ±6. 1 and 21.0 ±5.8, days at the follow-up of 30, 60 and 90 days, respectively, showing significant difference in the two groups(Z = 2. 895, 4. 544 and 4. 878, all P < 0. 01). At 30 days, VAS scores in the treatment and control groups were 3.6 ± 1.5 and 3. 8 ± 1.3 respectively, showing no significant difference(Z = 1. 254,P =0. 210); At 60 days and 90 days, VAS scores in the BTX-A group were 3.2 ± 1.5 and 3. 1 ± 1.6 respectively, and in the control group were 4. 7 ± 1.3 and 5.0 ± 1.5 respectively, showing significant difference(Z =4. 950 and 5. 096, both P =0. 000). Quality of life in the two groups was slightly improved. After the treatment, 1 case(2. 6%)in BTX-A group occurred brow ptosis. The other patients didn't report any treatment related adverse events. Conclusion BTX-A is an effective and relative safe treatment in patients with CDH.
5.Detection of circulating tumor cells and its clinical application
Cancer Research and Clinic 2016;28(12):851-854
Circulating tumor cell (CTC) is a kind of malignant tumor cells shed from the primary tumor into the circulation caused by spontaneity or surgical operation and puncture. With the development of CTC analysis recently, the detection methods have been gradually diversified. As a new biomarker, CTC plays a significant role in the diagnosis, therapeutic effect monitoring and prognosis of tumors. This paper mainly introduces the enrichment and analysis technology of CTC, and explore the relationship between CTC and tumors.
6.The correlation between serum uric acid concentration and obesity in children
International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2015;(3):322-323
Objective To investigate the correlation between hyperuricemia and obesity in children. Methods 316 children who went to the hospital for treatment of obesity were enrolled in the study as obesity group.Age and sex-matched children with normal body mass index(BMI)were randomly recruited as control group.Fasting venous blood samples were collected for the detection of serum uric acid(UA),glucose(GLU),total cholesterol(CHOL),triacylglycerol (TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C).Results Compared with the control group, serum concentrations of UA,CHOL, TG and LDL-C were higher while HDL-C was lower in obese children, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05 ).The detection rate of hyperuricemia in obese children was 24.68%,and in control group was 9.49%,the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P <0.05 ).Serum UA concentration was positively correlated with TG,CHOL and LDL-C,negatively correlated with HDL-C.Conclusion Obesity can lead to higher serum UA concentration and abnormal lipid metabolism. The level of serum UA was correlated with abnormal lipid metabolism.
7.Role of myosin regulatory light chain phosphorylation in the pathogenesis of chronic heart failure
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2017;37(8):1165-1168
In the embryonic period, myosin regulatory light chain (MYL2) plays a pivotal role in the development and function of the heart. A large number of studies have previously confirmed that the mutation of MYL2 gene, also known as MLC2, confers intimate associations with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. MYL2 gene mutation impacts the structure and function of myosin, thereby leading to the occurrence and progression of hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy as well as the following chronic heart failure. Importantly, MYL2 phosphorylation renders crucial effects in the processes of cardiac contraction, ventricular torsion and cardiac function.
8.Expression of NF-?B in the brain and lung and its role in acute lung injury following intracerebral hemorrhage of rats
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(19):-
Objective To investigate the role of NF-?B in acute lung injury following intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods Using stereotactic apparatus we infused autologous blood into the caudate nucleus to build up rat ICH model. A total of 35 male adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group(n=5) and hemorrhage group(n=30) that was subsequently divided into 6 subgroups (6 h,12 h,24 h,48 h,3 d,and 5 d,n=5). The inflammatory reaction degrees in the peripheral tissues of hematoma in the brain and lung were observed after HE staining. The levels of NF-?B p65 mRNA in the brain and lung were assayed using RT-PCR. The content of TNF-? and IL-1? in serum was determined by radioimmunoassay (RIA) method. Results Brain edema was obvious at 12 h after intracerebral hemorrhage and the inflammatory cells infiltration increased at 24 h and reached maximum at 48 h in the peripheral tissues of hematoma. Interstitial pneumonia and local emphysema appeared at 6 h and got to peak at 48-72 h,in which alveolar structure was significantly destroyed. In comparison with sham-operation group, the expression of NF-?B p65 mRNA began to increase at 6 h in brain and lung tissues (P
