1.Multidisciplinary management of gastric cancer
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2010;09(4):241-243
The therapeutic mode has changed over time, although surgery remains the main treatment of choice for gastric cancer. Surgery alone provides long-term survival in only 30% of patients with advanced stages because of the high risk of recurrence and metastasis. Multimodal strategies including neoadjuvant and (or) adjuvant protocols combined with surgery have significantly improved the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. In particular, perioperative chemotherapy has become the new standard for treatment of patients with advanced gastric cancer. Adjuvant therapy should be carefully discussed after surgical resection, mainly in patients with large lymph node-positive tumors when neoadjuvant therapy can not be carried out. This article reviews the relevant literature on the multidisciplinary management of gastric cancer, and discusses strategies to improve the efficacy of locoregional failures.
2.Research progress of thalidomide in combination therapy for the treatment of tumor
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2000;0(02):-
Following the reports of its teratogenicity, thalidomide was banned from the market in the 1960s.Later,researches discovered the teratogenicity was caused by inhibiting angiogenesis, and at that time the antiangiogenesis effect was considered an important factor in anti-tumour.Since then, many other anti-tumour mechanisms of thalidomide had been revealed and thalidomide was considered a kind of potential antitumor drug and was researched widely. This article focuses on the anti-tumour mechanisms of thalidomide and its use in combination therapy for the treatment of solid tumor.
3.Analysis of central corneal thickness in different degrees of diabetic retinopathy
International Eye Science 2014;(6):1061-1063
AIM: To study central corneal thickness ( CCT ) and correlation in different degrees of diabetic retinopathy ( DR) .
METHODS:A total of 65 cases (130 eyes) with different degrees of DR and 35 normal cases (70 eyes) as the age-and gender-matched control group were examined by corneal endothelial microscope, to measure CCT and statistics
RESULTS: Compared to control group, there were no significant difference of CCT both mild and medium nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy ( NPDR) groups ( P>0. 05 ). While the CCT of severe NPDR group and proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( PDR ) group were thicker than control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05); Pairwise comparison in different degrees of DR groups: the CCT of severe NPDR and mild NPDR groups were thicker than PDR group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0. 05 );compared to medium NPDR, the CCT of PDR was thicker (P<0. 05);The thickness of CCT increases with severity of DR, there was positive linear correlation ( r=0. 173, P<0-05).
CONCLUSION: The CCT increases with severity of DR. Taking care of protecting corneal endothelium is very important in the time of therapeutic measure, especially intraocular operation, to decrease complication.

6.Meta-analysis of the safety of Yangzhengxiaoji capsule for the treatment of cancer and precancerosis
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2013;(21):1318-1323
Objective:To evaluate the safety of Yangzhengxiaoji capsules for the treatment of cancer and precancerosis. Methods:Clinical trials and studies were collected by searching Chinese and English databases, including CNKI, WANFANG database, VIP information database, Pubmed, ScinenceDirect Online, and MEDLINE@EBSCO. The clinical data of Yangzhengxiaoji capsule for the treatment of cancer and pre-cancerosis were included. The quality of the included studies was then evaluated. Related data were extracted with reference to Cochrane Handbook 5.0. Afterward, meta-analysis was conducted using Revman 5.0 software. Results:A total of 19 studies focusing on 2 125 patients receiving Yangzhengxiaoji capsules were included and investigated in this meta-analysis. Results showed that the adverse reaction rates of myelosuppression, WBC and platelet decrease, gastrointestinal reaction, nausea/vomiting, and hepatotoxicity were sig-nificantly lower in the trial groups with Yangzhengxiaoji capsule-assisted chemotherapy/radiotherapy than in the control groups with chemotherapy/radiotherapy only (P<0.05). The adverse reaction rates of nephrotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, and neurotoxicity were not statistically different between the trial groups and the control groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Yangzhengxiaoji capsule could be safely administered to treat cancer and precancerosis.
