Eighteen adult rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: normal, control and experimental group. The model of global cerebral ischemia was produced by four-vessel occulsion. The cerebral temporal cortex samples were collected to determine volume of the water, LPO and Ca~(2+) concentration,SOD activity,and pathologic examinations of the cortex were made by optical and electronic microscope. The results showed that fructose-1, 6-diphosphate (FDP) reduced the water content and intracellular Ca~(2+)level, restrained the LPO production, enhanced the SOD activity of the brain. It is concluded that FDP protects cerebral biological membrane to a certain degree from ischemia and reperfusion injury.

Five hundred and ninety-one papers retrieved from CAJD on performance assessment of electronic re-sources in domestic libraries from 2004 to 2013 were retrospectively analyzed by biliometrics, which showed that these papers focused on the description of projects,methods of assessment,and establishment of assessment indexes. The following problems were pointed out, such as weakness in research strength, tendency to stress theories, inopera-tive methods used in studies, and single-valued achievements, with suggestions put forward for their solution such as intensifying cooperation and focusing on practice in future studies.

Many studies have proved that the subchondral bone plays an important role in the development of osteoarthritis,and may be the initial factor of the disease,but the exact relationship between articular cartilage degeneration and subchondral bone sclerosis is still unclear.Subchondral bone sclerosis caused by bone remodeling abnormality severely decreases the ability of subchondral bone stress absorption and protective function of articular cartilage,which finally leads to cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis deterioration.Studying the role of subchondral bone in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and developing potential drugs to regulate subchondral bone remodeling will provide a new way of prevention and treatment for osteoarthritis.

[Objective] To evaluate the efficacy and safety of drainage blood autotransfusion after total knee or hip arthroplasty.[Methods]Drainage blood in the first 6 hours postoperation was collected and reinfused using the ContavacTM CBCⅡ system in 30 patients taken total knee or hip arthroplasty.The efficacy was evaluated basing on the amount of the allogenic transfusion,the decreasing of the hemoglobin level and the morphology of the red blood cells in the drainage blood.The safety was evaluated basing on whether the patients had autotransfusion complications including fever,hemolytic reaction,coagulation disorders,pulmonary embolism and systemic infection.[Results]The volumes of total blood drainage,autotransfusion and allogenic transfusion were(946?433)ml,(622?313)ml and(233?348)ml,respectively.The average hemoglobin level of drainage blood was 99.67g/L and no apparente haemolysis happened.However,the hemoglobin level significantly decreased after operation in the peripheral blood.Only one rheumatoid arthritis patient had an abnormal fever during autotransfusion process,no other complication was observed.[Conclusion]Drainage blood in the first 6 hours postoperation is valid blood content.Drainage blood autotransfusion is an effective and safe way to slow down the hemoglobin reduction and reduce allogenic blood transfusion in patients being treated with total knee or hip arthroplasty.

Administration of adenosine triphosphate or adenosine is an important clinical trial in diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. It may not only terminate the paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and the specific type of ventricular tachycardia, but also identify the mechanism of majority of arrhythmias. Otherwise, It is also a useful diagnostic test for sick sinus sydrome and a reliable methos to assess radiofrequency catheter ablation.

According to the recommendations of the International Medical lnformatics Association(IMIA)on education in biomedical and health informatics(first revision)published by IMIA in 2010 and combining the actuality of the basic clinical information skills and medical informatics education of Chinese medical students,the related contents of medical informatics have been integrated into the teaching course based on current medical information retrieval curriculum and medical informatics curriculum for non-medical informatics students of medical colleges and universities was constructed,so that they can meet the requirements of the basic information skills under information-based medical and healthy practice.

Background and purpose:Esophageal cancer is a serious disease threatening human health, and it is very difficult to understand the development mechanism and find the therapeutic methods for esophageal cancer. In recent years, B7-H3, as a new member of B7 immunoregulatory superfamily, overexpressed in multiple tumor types, is considered to be a new tumor marker and potential therapeutic target. This study aimed to detect the expression of B7-H3 in esophageal cancer cell lines TE-1, TE-13, Eca-109 and exploring the effect of B7-H3 siRNA on cell proliferation, migration and invasionin vitro in human esophageal cancer Eca-109 cell line. Methods:The expression of B7-H3 in esophageal cancer cell lines TE-1, TE-13 and Eca-109 were detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). B7-H3 siRNA and control siRNA were transfectedin vitro into human esophageal cancer Eca-109 cells using LipofectamineTM 2000. The expressions of B7-H3 mRNA and protein in Eca-109 cells were analyzed by RT-PCR and Western blot. The proliferation, migration and invasion abilities of Eca-109 cells were measured by MTT assay, wound scrape assay and transwell invasion assayin vitro,respectively.Results:All tested cultured esophageal cancer cell lines constitutively expressed B7-H3 mRNA under normal conditions (TE-1 0.382±0.008, TE-13 0.399±0.008, Eca-109 0.428±0.012). After transfection, the expression of B7-H3 mRNA levels decreased in B7-H3 siRNA transfected group, compared with control siRNA transfected group (0.128 5±0.000 2vs 0.532 4±0.000 7,P<0.01) and untransfected group (0.128 5±0.000 2vs 0.540 3±0.001 3,P<0.01), while its protein expression levels were also signiifcantly lower than the control transfection group (0.421 4±0.004 8vs 0.500 6±0.012 9,P<0.05) and untransfected group (0.421 4±0.004 8vs 0.492 1±0.014 8, P<0.05). Compared with control transfected and untransfected cells, Eca-109 cell migration and invasion abilities decreased significantly (P<0.05) by siRNA interference, but no significant difference was observed between their proliferative capacity (P>0.05).Conclusion:All tested esophageal cancer cell lines constitutively express B7-H3 mRNA. B7-H3 siRNA interference inhibits Eca-109 cell migration and invasion abilities. B7-H3 may have a critical role in regulating Eca-109 cell progression.

Objective: To examine the expression of Nrf2 (nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2) protein in patients with NSCLC (advanced non-small cell lung cancer), and to elucidate the correlation of the expression level of Nrf2 with response to platinum-based first-line chemotherapy and the prognosis of NSCLC patients. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 50 patients with chemotherapynaïve advanced NSCLC. All patients received platinum-based regimens as first-line chemotherapy. The expression level of Nrf2 protein in tumor specimens was detected by immunohistochemical analysis. The associations between Nrf2 expression with response to chemotherapy and the prognosis were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 statistical software. Results: The Nrf2 protein expression level in NSCLC patients exhibited interindividual differences and the positive rate was 34% (17/50). The positive-expression rate of Nrf2 was higher in patients with age ≥ 70 years (58.3%, 7/12) than that in patients with age < 70 years (26.3%, 10/38) (P = 0.041), which was also higher in patients with distant metastasis (46.7%, 14/30) than that in patients without metastasis (15.0%, 3/20) (P = 0.021). The expression of Nrf2 was correlated with age (r = 0.370, P = 0.020), distant metastasis (r = 0.289, P = 0.042), response to platinum-based chemotherapy (r = 0.315 P = 0.026), progression-free survival (r = -0.393, P = 0.006) and overall survival (r = -0.309, P = 0.029). Furthermore, the expression of Nrf2 was an independent predictive factor for response to platinum-based first-line chemotherapy and progression-free survival (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Nrf2 expression is an independent predictor of response to platinum-based first-line chemotherapy and the prognosis of patients with advanced NSCLC, and it may be helpful to select the appropriate chemotherapy regimen for advanced NSCLC.
