OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the rationality of cefoxitin use in our hospital. METHODS:Evaluation index and evalua-tion criteria were established on the basis of DUE. The relative weight of evaluation index were calculated by using attribute-based AHM weight method, and the gas between medical orders and complete rational ones were evaluated by using TOPSIS processing method. The proportion of rational medical orders were calculated to evaluate the rationality of drug use. RESULTS:Among 116 medical records, there were 19%reasonable medical orders(including 4.3%complete reasonable medical orders,5 cases),50%ba-sically reasonable medical orders(58 cases)and 31% unreasonable medical orders(36 cases). CONCLUSIONS:It is reasonable and feasible to use AHM weighted TOPSIS method to evaluate the rationality of cefoxitin. The utilization of cefoxitin in our hospital is basically reasonable, but there are still many problems.

Objective To observe the effect of Mongolian formula Shudage-4 on alcohol-induced gastric ulcer in mice, and to discuss its protective mechanism for gastric mucosa. Methods Kunming mice were randomly divided into Shudage-4 groups of low-dose,medium-dose,and high-dose,Anweiyang (patent Chinese medicine for peptic ulcer)group, cimetidine group, model group, and normal group. Ethanol was used to induce gastric mucosal injury for all the groups except the normal group.Ulcer index and ulcer inhibition rate were measured.Concentration of nitric oxide (NO)and malonydialdehyde (MDA)were detected by using ELISA.Liver tissue sections were examined under a light microscope. Stomach tissues were stained using Hematoxylin-eosin (H-E)staining and histopathological changes were observed via light microscopy. Results NO concentration increased significantly and MDA decreased significantly in the low-,medium-,and high-dose Mongolian Medicine Shudage-4 (P <0.05)groups,as compared with model group.NO concentration in the positive group was higher than the low-dose group, but lower than the medium-dose group and high-dose group, whereas MDA level in the positive group was lower than the low-dose group, but higher than the medium-dose group and high-dose group.Since the medium-dose group was shown to be the highest in NO concentration and lowest in MDA levels among the high-,medium-and low-dose Shudage-4 groups, the medium-dose group was chosen to be compared with the positive group. However,no significant difference was present between them (P >0.05 ).Mean-while,inflammatory responses were alleviated,as compared with the model group,in the high-,medium-and low-dose groups, especially in the latter two groups, with drastically reduced inflammatory cells and improved pathological conditions. Conclusion Mongolian Medicine Shudage-4 could significantly reduce the ethanol-induced gastric mucosal injury in mice, and may play a protective role.

Aim To investigate the role of GlyR-α3 in postoperative pain. Methods The model of postoper-ative pain was established by incision of mouse skin and muscle.Pain responses including paw withdrawal thresholds(PWTs),paw withdrawal latencies(PWLs)and licking toes time were conducted and recorded.Protein contents and tyrosine phosphorylation levels of GlyR-α3 were detected by co-immunoprecipitation and immunoblotting.Bosutinib was used to inhibit Src ki-nase activity to verify whether Src was involved in tyro-sine phosphorylation of GlyR-α3.Results The PWTs and PWLs in postoperative pain model mice were sig-nificantly reduced, whereas the licking time increased significantly. The tyrosine phosphorylation level of GlyR-α3 in the dorsal root ganglia(DRG)from inci-sion sidesignificantly increased compared with contra-lateral side, while the protein expression showed no sta-tistical significance. The expression of Src in DRGin-creased after operation, and the interaction between Src and GlyR-α3 was enhanced in ipsilateral DRG com-pared with contralateral side.Inhibition of Src kinase activity helped to reduce tyrosine phosphorylation of GlyR-α3 from DRG and alleviate postoperative pain symptoms. Conclusion Src kinase is involved in the development of postoperative pain by enhancing tyro-sine phosphorylation of GlyR-α3.

A system coupling ethanol fermentation with microalgae culture was developed, in which CO2 produced during ethanol fermentation was used as carbon source for the growth of Tetraselmis subcordiformis, a microalgae accumulating starch intracellularly. The biomass concentration about 2.0 g DCW/L was achieved within the photobioreactor for the batch culture of 7 days, and intracellular starch accumulation was about 45%. Furthermore, ultrasonic pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis were applied to the microalgae biomass, and 71.1% of the intracellular starch was converted into glucose that was fermented sequentially to ethanol by Saccharomyces cerevisiae with an ethanol yield of 87.6% of the theoretical value, indicating that the microalgae biomass could be an alternative feedstock for ethanol production to save grain consumption, and in the meantime mitigate the CO2 emission.

Objective To establish and evaluate two protocols for the noninvasive visualization and assessment of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) patency on electron beam tomography (EBT).Methods Two hundred and fourteen consecutive patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graft surgery were scanned using both EBT angiography with 3-dimensional reconstruction and EBT flow study with time-density-curve analysis. Results There were 589 CABGs evaluated in this study (10 grafts were excluded because of artifacts). Among them, 133 (98.5%) of 135 arterial grafts were patent, and 345 (77.7%) of 444 saphenous-vein grafts were patent. Within 5 years or between 5 and 10 years after operation, arterial graft patency exceeded venous graft patency (P < 0.001 ). Three-dimensional EBT angiography achieved higher sensitivity, specificity and accuracy (97.7%, 94.1% and 96.7%, respectively) than did EBT flow study (88.4%, 82.4% and 85.2%, respectively) for evaluating occlusion or patency of CABG. The intra-graft flow of patent arterial and venous grafts were 4.9 ± 2.2 mi · min-1 · g-1 and 6.9 ± 2.8 mi · min-1 · g-1,respectively (P<0.001).Conclusion The combination of EBT three-dimensional reconstruction and flow study can be more effective in the assessment of CABG anatomy and quantification of patent CABG blood flow.
