Objective To generate of human induced pluripotent stem cells from umbilical cord matrix cells(UMC).Methods Sox2 and Klf4 and Oct4 and c-Myc were transfected into UMC cells with retrovirus, and thcn UMC cells was reprogrammed to iPS cells.Gene expression was confirmed with RT -PCR and the integration was confirmed with cell karyotype.iPS cells were further validatcd with cell alkaline phosphatase detection and immunofluorescence staining, differentiating into teratomas in vivo and embryoid bodies in vitro. Results iPS cells were similar to embryonic stem cells (ES).The expression of Nanog,Oct4,Rex1 and Sox2 in iPS cells were higher than UMC cells, and Sox2,Klf4,Oct4,c-Myc silenced in iPS cells.Exogenous genes were inserted into the nucleus of iPS cells, which was confirmed by 1% agarose gel electrophoresis.iPS ccll karyotype was normal, alkaline phosphatase activity increased,ES cell-specific proteins, including SSEA3,SSEA4,TRA-1-60,TRA-1-81 and Nanog, were expressed.iPS cells were differentiated into a teratoma in vivo and embryoid bodies in vitro. Conclusions iPS cells were similar to ES cells, which had pluripotency.

ObjectiveGeneration of human induced pluripotent stem cells from human skin fibroblasts.MethodsSox2, Klf4, Oct4, c-Myc were transfected into HSF cells with retrovirus, and then HSF cells was reprogrammed to iPS cells.Detecting cells endogenous and exogenous gene, analyzing karyotype, cells alkaline phosphatase staining and immunofluorescence staining, differentiating into teratomas in vivo and embryoid bodies in vitro were performed.ResultsiPS cell morphology was similar to embryonic stem cells (ES).The expression of Nanog, Oct4, Rex1, Sox2 in iPS cells were higher than HSF cells, and Sox2, Klf4, Oct4, c-Myc were silenced for the iPS cells.Exogenous genes were inserted into the nucleus of iPS cells, which was confirmed by 1% agarose gel electrophoresis.iPS cell karyotype was normal, alkaline phosphatase activity increased, ES cell-specific protein expressed.iPS cells were differentiated into a teratoma in vivo and embryoid bodies in vitro.ConclusionsiPS cells were similar to ES cells, which have pluripotency.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the indications and clinical effect of using oral mucosa as the graft in hypospadias repair.
METHODSWe performed hypospadias repair using oral mucosa for 19 patients, 10 with the urethral opening at the root of the penis, 7 at the scrotum and 2 at the perineum. Of these patients, 8 had received urethroplasty once, and 6 twice, unsuccessfully, and 7 of them were complicated by penile chordee. The lower lip mucosa was used as the graft for 14 cases, and the buccal mucosa for the other 5. Fifteen cases received autologous oral mucosa onlay for repair, with the new urethra covered by the dartos coat of the dorsal skin. For the other 4 cases, whose urethral plates had been damaged in the previous operations, oral mucosa strips were used to substitute the urethral plates to get the penis straightened, followed by urethroplasty 6 months later.
RESULTSOf the 19 patients, 17 (89.5%) achieved satisfactory results, with a desirable shape of the penis and a vertical slit-like meatus at the tip of the glans. Chordee was corrected in all the patients. No urethral stricture was found during the 3 - 18 months follow-up. Urethral fistula occurred in 2 cases because of infection, but cured by surgical repair 6 months later.
CONCLUSIONUsing oral mucosa as the graft is an effective surgical option for hypospadias repair.

Objective To evaluate the effects of the strategy of transmission interruption of schistosomiasis in Runzhou Dis-trict,Zhenjiang City,Jiangsu Province. Methods The comprehensive prevention and control strategy was carried out in Run-zhouDistrict,Zhenjiang City,Jiangsu Province. The strategy was relied mainly on the Oncomelania hupensis snail control,ex-tended chemotherapy of schistosomiasis in residents and the health education. The infection rate of schistosomiasis in residents, area with snails, area with snails controlled, and the rates of awareness and correct behavior of schistosomiasis were as evalua-tion indexes. Results The area with snails controlled was 7 091.50 hm2in Runzhou District,Zhenjiang City from 2001 to 2016.The area with snails reduced year by year from 2001 to 2016.There was a negative correlation between the coverage intensity of snail control and the area with snails(r=-0.874,P=0).There were 1 703 serum positive and 199 fecal positive people of schis-tosomiasis in the permanent residents from 2001 to 2016.These serum and fecal positive people of schistosomiasis were all treat-ed with praziquantel. The serum positive rate of schistosomiasis in the permanent residents dropped to below 1.0%after 2005.The fecal positive patients were not found in 2004 and later.Totally 189 639 people received the questionnaire survey for the knowledge of schistosomiasis control from 2001 to 2016.The rates of awareness and correct behavior of schistosomiasis were raised in the residents year by year. The goal of the transmission interruption of schistosomiasis came to true in Runzhou Dis-trict,Zhenjiang City in 2016.Conclusion The comprehensive prevention and control strategy including mainly the snail con-trol,extended chemotherapy of schistosomiasis and health education could achieve the goal of transmission interruption of schis-tosomiasis in the areas of marshland along the Yangtze River.

OBJECTIVETo diagnose a Chinese benign familial neonatal convulsions (BFNC) family at the level of gene and investigate its molecular pathogenesis.
METHODSAll family members were studied by clinical examinations and linkage analysis. Mutation analysis of KCNQ2 gene was made by means of polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-direct sequencing and PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) in the proband, 16 family members and 72 unrelated normal individuals.
RESULTSLinkage analysis hinted the linkage of BFNC to KCNQ2, while the linkage to KCNQ3 was excluded. Mutation 1931delG of KCNQ2 gene was found in the proband by DNA-direct sequencing. The same SSCP variant as the proband's was showed in the rest affected members of this family but not in the unaffected members of this family and all of the 72 unrelated normal individuals.
CONCLUSION1931delG of KCNQ2 gene can cause BFNC in China and is novel mutation. The combination of linkage analysis and gene analysis is useful for gene diagnosis.

In the daily life, we perceive the world around us by integrating multiple sensory cues (visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, tactile, vestibular and proprioceptive) to create a coherent, reliable representation that allows us to interact meaningfully with the environment. The integration of different sensory information is necessary for our perception, motor transformation, decision making, learning and memory. In the past decades, many interdisciplinary researchers have been attracted to the field of multisensory research, and tremendous advances have been made in this field. We review the researches on multisensory integration during self-motion perception in the past decades from the candidate areas, the integration principles and the neural correlation of the behaviors, with the intention to provide a comprehensive source for those interested in understanding the neural substrates for multisensory integration. Meanwhile, we also provide a prospect for the future research in this field.
