Resorcin is widely being used in the fields of the therapeutics, cosmetics, industry, but allergic contact dermatitis is an infrequent adverse reaction. We have experienced a case of allergic contact dermatitis to resorcin. A 59-year-old male with Kaposi's sarcoma on the right foot developed linear erythematous vesicular eruption along the marking areas 4 days after application of Castellanis paint, used as a skin marking solution for radiation therapy. He showed patch test positive reaction to Castellani's paint as well as its individual components, resorcin and phenol.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1997;33(5):883-889
BACKGROUND: Total intravenous anesthesia with propofol can cause respiratory depression and apnea especially during induction of anesthesia. To study the possibility of reversal of respiratory depression during anesthesia with propofol, pretreated with nabuphine or not, the respiratory effects of doxapram to spontaneously ventilating patients were investigated. METHODS: Patients were divided into 4 groups - saline-propofol-saline group (SPS), saline-propofol- doxapram group (SPD), nalbuphine-propofol-saline group (NPS), and nalbuphine-propofol-doxapram group (NPD). After saline or nalbuphine pretreatment, anesthesia was induced with propofol and then doxapram or saline was intravenously injected. Apneic time interval, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, minute ventilation, end tidal CO2 partial pressure and oxygen saturation were measured in every minutes during induction of anesthesia. Percent changes of each values were compared. RESULTS: There is no differences in apneic time intervals in each groups. The percent change of first minute ventilation in SPD group after doxapram injection unchanged significantly compared with those depressions of SPS, NPS and NPD group (p<0.05). Respiratory rates increased in SPD and SPS groups after laryngeal mask insertion. There is no differences in minute ventilation, respiratory rate and end-tidal CO2 concentration between nalbuphine pretreated groups regardless of doxapram injection. CONCLUSIONS: Doxapram has effect in increasing minute ventilation after propofol induction within first few minutes, but it cannot reverse respiratory depression during propofol induction pretreated with nalbuphine.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(5):673-675
Nonpigmenting fixed drug eruption is a form of fixed drug eruption which heals without pigmentation. To leave no traces makes the diagnosis difficult. A 37-year-old man pressented the erythematous patches on both wrists and the left thigh. Several hours before the eruption, he had taken oral drugs for the treatment of osteomyelitis. He had had the same eruptions which were diagnosed as an allergic contact dermatitis, 8 months ago. The patch tests with medicated drugs were negative, but oral provocation with etodolac brought the same eruptions.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1994;29(3):792-797
Since 1983, the transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy has been performed in 38 hips of 36 patients for the nontraumatic avascular necrosis of the femoral head at the department of orthopaedic surgery of Seoul National University Hospital. Out of them, 26 hips(18 cases of Sugioka grade I and 8 cases of Sugioka grade II ) were followed up for more than 1 year. The average period of follow-up was 3 years and 5 months(range, 1 year and 2 months to 7 years). These cases include 3 cases of failure before 2 years after operation. Overall, the result was satisfactory in 20 cases(77%)out of a total of 26 cases(success in 18 cases(69%)and good in 2 cases(8%)). The results of the grade I lesions(14 cases of success and 1 case of good result out of 18 cases) were better than those of the grade I lesions(4 cases of success and 1 case of good result out of 8 cases). Complications occurred in 5 cases. These include an ectopic ossification, a stress fracture of the neck, a nonunion of the osteotomy site, a nonunion of the greater trochanter and a delayed union of the greater trochanter. There were 6 cases of failure. For the 4 cases of them, hip replacement arthroplasy was performed. The MRI images axial to the longitudinal axis of the femoral neck gave excellent information for the operation.

6.Effect of a Diabetic Camp Program on the Fasting Blood Sugar Level in Type 2 Diabetic Patients.
Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 1999;11(3):477-483
This study was conducted to test the effect of a diabetic camp program on the fasting blood sugar in type 2 diabetic patients. The subjects of the study consisted of 33 diabetic patients who had participated with a diabetic camp program in the YangPung area from August 12 to August 15, 1998. Wilcoxon signed rank test was used for the significance of the differences between values before and after the diabetic camp program. The fasting blood glucose level, before of the closing day at the diabetic camp, was lower than that of the opening day. When comparing the blood glucose levels before meals, between the early and later part of the diabetic camp, fasting blood glucose levels before breakfast by the 4th day in the later part of the diabetic camp were lower than those of the 2nd day in the early part. Blood glucose level before lunch by the 4th day, in the later part of the diabetic camp, were lower than those of the 2nd day in the early part. Blood glucose levels before dinner by the 3rd day, in the later part of the diabetic camp, were lower than those of the 1st day in the early part. Blood glucose levels before sleep by the 3rd day, in the later part of the diabetic camp, were lower than those of the 1st day in the early part.

Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2011;20(1):65-73
PURPOSE: This study investigates nurses' organizational commitment, internal marketing, and occupational satisfaction depending on their age, martial status, clinical experience and income. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 350 nurses from six hospitals in Jeolla-do. The t-tests were used to analyze the differences in internal marketing, occupational satisfaction, and organizational commitment depending on their age, marital status, career, and income. The relationships among internal marketing, occupational satisfaction, and organizational commitment were analyzed by the path analysis. RESULTS: The results of this study showed that organizational commitment was correlated with age, clinical experiences, and income, but not significantly associated with martial status. Education and training policy, benefit system, and fairness of the internal marketing were influencing factors on occupational satisfaction. These factors were correlated with organizational commitment through occupational satisfaction. CONCLUSION: This study addressed the relationships among nurses' internal marketing, occupational satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Based on the results, it is suggested that hospital organizations introduce more diverse incentive policies to enhance nurses' occupational satisfaction and organizational commitment.

9.Factors Influencing on Sexual Assertiveness of College Students.
Young Hee KIM ; Seung Tae MOON ; Hee Sun KANG
Korean Journal of Women Health Nursing 2013;19(3):166-175
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing sexual assertiveness in dating college students. METHODS: With a cross-sectional survey design, 468 college students who have had dating experiences were recruited and answered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA with Scheffe? test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. RESULTS: The sexual assertiveness of college students showed significant results: positive correlations with self-assertiveness and negative correlations with traditional sexual attitude, gender role stereotypes. Significant predictors of sexual assertiveness were traditional sexual attitude, gender role stereotypes, and self-assertiveness. These variables explained 37% of the variance in sexual assertiveness. CONCLUSION: Findings suggest that it is important to identify and improve communication patterns in relation to sexual assertiveness. There is a need for sex education programs for college students that are relevant and effective.

Pediatric Allergy and Respiratory Disease 1998;8(2):229-239
PURPOSE: It has been shown that the sensitization to inhalant allergens on the development of asthma or rhinitis in childhood is related to hereditary disposition and environmental factors. This study was conducted to compare the degree of sensitization to major inhalant allergens in bronchial asthma and rhinitis and to find factors which have an effect on it. METHODS: Skin prick tests were done on the 410 atopic bronchial asthma and rhinitis patients who visited the pediatric allergy clinic from January 1987 through December 1996. We divided the patients into 3 groups: an indoor allergen group sensitive to D.p., D.f., cat fur, dog hair and cockroach; an outdoor allergen group to tree pollen, ragweed pollen, and grass pollen; and a group to both indoor and oudoor allegens. RESULTS: 1) Based on their ages, the prevalence of sensitization was relatively high in 5-6 years old, to indoor allergen and in 11-12 years old to the outdoor allergen. 2) Among the subjects sensitized only to indoor allergens, 34.2% had asthma. 6.7% had rhinitis, and 59.1% both diagnoses. For those sensitized only to outdoor allergens, these values were respectively 29.0%, 48.4% and 22.6%, respectively. 3) The prevalence of indoor allergen sensitization was significantly high in children, living in house, in urban areas, and having carpet/sofa/bed at home(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The younger age group showed more sensitization to indoor allergens than to outdoor allergens. The indoor allergens were strongly related to asthma and the outdoor ones to rhinitis. As a result, it seems that it is very helpful for a prevention of asthma in childhood to take an early environmental control for inhalant allergens.
