The phenomenon of Myotonia consist in a failure of voluntary muscles to relax immediately when voluntary innervation ceases. The stiffness is accentuated by cold and relieved by exercise, while generalized muscle weakness and atrophy (or not commonly hypertrophy of muscle) is common. Myotonia is a feature of four principal clinical syndromes which have been classified myotonia congenita (Thomsens disease), myotonia atrophica (Steinerts disease), paramyotonia and myotonia and myotonia acquisita by Walton et al. We report here a forty six years old male of myotonia atrophica (Dystrophia myotonia, Steinerts disease) who presents bilateral cataracts, frontal baldness, gonadal atrophy, facial myopathy, sterno-cleidomastoid muscle atrophy and a progressive generalized myopathy of peripheral distribution in the limbs.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(5):674-677
Resorcin is widely being used in the fields of the therapeutics, cosmetics, industry, but allergic contact dermatitis is an infrequent adverse reaction. We have experienced a case of allergic contact dermatitis to resorcin. A 59-year-old male with Kaposi's sarcoma on the right foot developed linear erythematous vesicular eruption along the marking areas 4 days after application of Castellanis paint, used as a skin marking solution for radiation therapy. He showed patch test positive reaction to Castellani's paint as well as its individual components, resorcin and phenol.

Annals of Dermatology 1991;3(1):49-53
A 6-year-old boy with porokeratotic eccrine ostial and dermal duct nevus on the left sole is reported. The patient was born with keratotic plugs, each measuring 1-2 mm in diameter, on the left sole. Light-microscopic examination revealed epidermal invagination and cornoid lamella, which was found to be connected with hyperplastic intraepidermal and dermal eccrine duct. The present case can be histologically differentiated from nevus comedonicus and punctate porokeratotis.

Annals of Dermatology 2000;12(2):152-154
Angioma serpiginosum is a rare acquired vascular lesion that usually presents in the first two decades of life with a predilection for females. A typical lesion is characterized by deeply red nonpalpable puncta that are grouped closely together in macular or netlike patterns on the lower extremities and buttocks. Histopathologically, thin-walled dilated capillaries are seen in some of the dermal papillae and the superficial reticular dermis without extravasation of red blood cells. We report a case of angioma serpiginosum developed on the left chest and left upper extremity in a 18-year-old man.

Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow 2015;18(3):162-166
Clavicle medial end fracture is rare, and it has not been studied extensively. Although there is debate regarding its treatment methods, because of the complications of conservative treatment, surgical treatment has been considered more than conservative treatment. This study describes a surgical method using double-plate fixation for treatment of clavicle medial end fractures in which plates were used on each anterior and superior border according to the anatomical structure of the clavicle. In addition, we report operative results of three patients treated by double-plate fixation.

10.Identification of CEA-interacting proteins in colon cancer cells and their changes in expression after irradiation.
Radiation Oncology Journal 2017;35(3):281-288
PURPOSE: The serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level has been recognized as a prognostic factor in colorectal cancer, and associated with response of rectal cancer to radiotherapy. This study aimed to identify CEA-interacting proteins in colon cancer cells and observe post-irradiation changes in their expression. MATERIALS AND METHODS: CEA expression in colon cancer cells was examined by Western blot analysis. Using an anti-CEA antibody or IgG as a negative control, immunoprecipitation was performed in colon cancer cell lysates. CEA and IgG immunoprecipitates were used for liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis. Proteins identified in the CEA immunoprecipitates but not in the IgG immunoprecipitates were selected as CEA-interacting proteins. After radiation treatment, changes in expression of CEA-interacting proteins were monitored by Western blot analysis. RESULTS: CEA expression was higher in SNU-81 cells compared with LoVo cells. The membrane localization of CEA limited the immunoprecipitation results and thus the number of CEA-interacting proteins identified. Only the Ras-related protein Rab-6B and lysozyme C were identified as CEA-interacting proteins in LoVo and SNU-81 cells, respectively. Lysozyme C was detected only in SNU-81, and CEA expression was differently regulated in two cell lines; it was down-regulated in LoVo but up-regulated in SNU-81 in radiation dosage-dependent manner. CONCLUSION: CEA-mediated radiation response appears to vary, depending on the characteristics of individual cancer cells. The lysozyme C and Rab subfamily proteins may play a role in the link between CEA and tumor response to radiation, although further studies are needed to clarify functional roles of the identified proteins.
