OBJECTIVES: To examine emotional and psychological characteristics associated with suicide attempts in depressed patients. METHODS: A sample of 37 inpatients diagnosed with major depressive disorder or depressive disorder NOS was divided into two groups : lifetime suicide attempters(N=15 ; 40.54%), non-attempters(N=22 ; 59.46%). Beck Depression Scale(BDI), Beck Anxiety Scale(BAI), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HDRS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HARS), and MMPI-2 were used to evaluate symptoms severity and psychological characteristics. RESULTS: Suicide attempters scored higher on the BDI though there were no group differences on the HDRS and on the both anxiety scales. Also they showed higher scores on the F, Fb, Pa, RC1, DEP, HEA, PK, AAS among MMPI-2 subscales. Our findings suggest that suicide attempters among depressed patients undergo more severe subjective distress and difficulties in adjustment than non-attempters. Also they were more hostile to others and showed lower trust. Lastly, they showed more somatic complaints and substance related problems. CONCLUSION: The present study showed that suicide attempters among depressed patients have distinct emotional and psychological characteristics. MMPI-2 would be helpful to assess suicidal risk of depressed patients.

One case of congenital cutis aplasia is presented. The defect involved includes full-thickness skin defect of scalp and cranium. The patient was treated with debridement of dirty necrosed crust which covered exposed dura mater and with double opposing rotation flap including pericranium for bone regeneration. The donor site was covered with skin graft from right thigh. During operation, the superficial temporal artery was found to be short and weak. And after operation, the margin of flap were congested and finally necrotized. The necrotic wound was treated with conservative management. The vascular impairment is thought to be main course of congenital cutis aplasia. So we conclude that the treatment of choice is conservative management or careful flap surgery for coverage of defect area.

Urinary disorders are important factors that affect the quality of life. Urinary incontinence refers to urine leakage against will and is categorized intostress incontinence, urge incontinence, and other types. The prevalence of incontinence increases with aging. Since most patients hesitate talkingabout urinary problems, it is important to proactively ask questions to ensure proper care. The diagnostic approach includes history taking, physicalexamination, and urinalysis. The use of specific questionnaires and voiding diaries is also beneficial. The first management option for patients withincontinence is conservative treatment, especially training for strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. Anti-cholinergic medications and mirabegronare used for treating urge incontinence. To minimize adverse events, starting medications at low doses, with follow-up at short intervals, isrecommended. For treating stress incontinence, surgical approaches like sling surgery are preferred to medications. Primary physicians need to payattention to urinary problems to help older patients address their difficulties and to promote their quality of life.

Background: The present study aimed to provide basic data to establish a foundation for efficient operation of the organization by identifying the effects of factors related to moral sensitivity and psychological well-being on job engagement of clinical dental hygienists. Methods: This cross-sectional survey consisted of self-administration questionnaires. After the approval by the Institutional Review Board, a survey was conducted from September 2019 to November 2019, targeting dental hygienists with clinical experience of 1 year or more. A total of 189 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 for Windows. The data were analyzed using average standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: According to job-related characteristics, higher job engagement was associated with more amount of clinical experience, less turnover intention, higher positions, and occasional job fatigue. Job engagement was improved by increasing moral sensitivity and psychological well-being of clinical dental hygienists. The factors affecting job engagement revealed that along with clinical career, the sub-areas of job engagement, namely turnover intention, moral sensitivity, and psychological well-being had statistically significant influence on job engagement and the explanatory power of the model was approximately 44.8%. Conclusion Joy of working as a clinical dental hygienist, clinical career, turnover intention, moral sensitivity, and psychological well-being were confirmed as influencing factors that affected job engagement of clinical dental hygienists. It is necessary to establish an effective plan to improve job engagement by increasing moral sensitivity and psychological well-being of clinical dental hygienists.

Peritoneal leiomyomas are extremely rare. Most reported cases are that of disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis, making isolated leiomyoma an uncommon occurrence. Given that isolated leiomyoma is rare, the preoperative diagnosis of isolated leiomyoma is challenging. To date, very few reports have described the radiological findings of isolated peritoneal leiomyoma. This study aimed to present a rare case of isolated peritoneal leiomyoma in the perihepatic region of a 54-year-old female, and present the US, CT, and MRI based radiological findings of the case.
