7.A Case of Extensive Bowenoid Papulosis.

Bowenoid papulosis (BP) is largely a disease of young, sexually active adults, which presents with pink or flesh colored macular or papular lesions in the anogenital area. It has been established that various human papilloma virus (HPV) types are the causative agents of BP and of these, HPV-16, the oncogenic one, is the most common. The course of BP is variable, ranging from spontaneous regression to persistent of lesions to a transformation into squamous cell carcinoma. We report a case of Bowenoid papulosis in a 29-year-old, sexually active female whose anogenital area was covered with innumerable papular lesions extended to the lower extremities.

8.Compound Nevus Occurring Near External Auditory Canal: Successful Treatment by CO2 Laser Abrasion.

Melanocytic nevus is common pigmented skin tumor, but it has rare occurrence near the external auditory canal. A skin graft is required if a wide surgical excision is performed for the nevi occurring near the external auditory canal. A CO2 laser was considered to be a good alternative for the removal of melanocytic nevus in this area. We herein report a case of compound nevus occurring near the external auditory canal that was successfully treated by CO2 laser abrasion.

9.Osteoblasts Are the Centerpiece of the Metastatic Bone Microenvironment.

The tumor microenvironment is comprised of diverse stromal cell populations in addition to tumor cells. Increasing evidence now clearly supports the role of microenvironment stromal cells in tumor progression and metastasis, yet the regulatory mechanisms and interactions among tumor and stromal cells remain to be elucidated. Bone metastasis is the major problem in many types of human malignancies including prostate, breast and lung cancers, and the biological basis of bone metastasis let alone curative approaches are largely undetermined. Among the many types of stromal cells in bone, osteoblasts are shown to be an important player. In this regard, osteoblasts are a key target cell type in the development of bone metastasis, but there are currently no drugs or therapeutic approaches are available that specifically target osteoblasts. This review paper summarizes the current knowledge on osteoblasts in the metastatic tumor microenvironment, aiming to provide clues and directions for future research endeavor.
