Basaloid follicular hamartoma (BFH) is a benign adnexal tumor with a wide spectrum of clinical appearance and is characterized histologically by the presence of branching cords and thin strands of undifferentiated anasomosing, basaloid proliferations that are embedded in a fibrous stroma. It has been often misdiagnosed and treated as basal cell carcinoma. We report a 57-year-old woman with BFH on the face which is similar to basal cell carcinorna clinically that turned out to be a solitary BFH histologically. There has been no recurrence during one year of follow up after excisional biopsy.

Corneal endothelial damages following Nd: YAG laser application were evaluated rabbits. The first group underwent anterior capsulotomy, while the second group received laser applications at the corneal center and anterior capsule. The rabbits were evaluated with the intraocular pressure, the corneal endothelial cell number, the thickness of the corneal center, and the morphologic change of the cornea, before laser application and at postaplication 1 day, 7 day, and 14 day. But the endothelium was damaged when laser shots were applied at the cornea center and anterior caps ulotomy. In ophthalmologic procedure with Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, the minimal effective poser should be selected, the laser beam should be applicated on extremely fine focus and contact lens should be used to minimize the corneal endothelial injury.

We report a case of infantile digital fibromatosis in a 34 month-old boy, who presented with a painless subcutaneous tumor on the medial aspect of the left third toe. A histological examination showed scattered small, round eosinophilic inclusion bodies in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells, which was consistent with infantile digital fibromatosis. A'immunohistochemical study revealed that desmin, a-smooth muscle actin, and vimentin were clearly positive in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells, but the inclusions themselves showed negative staining, thus indicating a hollow-like staining pattern. Electron microscopy showed either well-defined or ill-demarcated dense bodies in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells. In some areas, small vesicles and intracellular organells were observed' in the inclusions. In the course of conservative treatment, a new lesion developed on the lateral aspect of the left third toe, seven months after the appearance of the initial lesion.

Cutaneous horns of the penis are rare. We report a case associated with squamous cell carcinoma in a 56-year-old male. A gradually enlarging nodule had been on the glans penis for four years. He had suffered from an erythematous crusted tumor mass and horny excrescence on the glans penis which recurred and was aggravated after excision of the nodule seven months ago. Histopathologic findings of the lesions showed characteristic findings of squamous cell carcinoma and cutaneous horn. In situ DNA hybridization for human papillomavirus types 6, 11, 16, 18, 32, and 33 were all negative. The tumor mass were surgically excised and we have not found any sign of recurrence since then.

Desmoplastic malignant melanoma (DMM) is an uncommon variant of malignant melanoma featuring a proliferation of spindle cells with pronounced desmopaasia. DMM commonly occurs on the sun-damaged skin such as head and neck in older persons, and it can be associated with lentigo maligna. We report an unusual case of desmoplastic malignant melanoma that developed de novo on the trunk in a young patient.

Renal angiomyolipomas are uncommon benign neoplasms composed of mature adipose tissue, thick-walled blood vessels and smooth muscle in varying proportions, which are found in more than half of the patients with tuberous sclerosis. When associated with tuberous sclerosis, they are usually small, bilateral and multifocal. We present a case of bilateral renal angiomyolipoma with tuberous sclerosis in a 33-year-old female.

The double-blind, placebo-controlled study was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of once-a-day terazosin in 35 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The dose of terazosin was titrated to 5 mg during 4 week period and then maintained throughout 24 week follow up. In terazosin group(n= 18), the maximum flow rates improved 32% from 10.4ml/sec at baseline to 13.7ml/sec, and the mean flow rate improved 38% from 5.5ml/sec to. 7.6ml/sec after 24 weeks of treatment(p <0.01). The obstructive symptom score decreased 59% from 9.8 to 4.l, and the irritative symptom score decreased 34% from 5.4 to 3.5 after.24 weeks of terazosin therapy (p<0.01). In placebo group(n= 17), the obstructive symptom score only significantly decreased 39% from 9.1 at baseline to 5.5 after 24 weeks of terazosin therapy(p>0.06). Adverse event occurred in one case of the terazosin group. In summary, terazosin administered once-a-day improved the obstructive and irritative symptoms of BPH and urine flow rates. Terazosin was well tolerated.
