Lipoleiomyomas of the uterus are extremely rare benign neoplasm that can be difficult to differentiate from benign cystic ovarian teratomas. Only a few pure lipomas of the uterus have been documented. We presented a case of lipoleiomyoma of the uterus, in which sonography and computed tomography were per formed, but because of its rarity, and confusion with more common uterine leiomyoma and ovarian dermoid tumor, preoperative diagnosis was not suggested. To our best knowledge, this is the first case of uterine lipoleiomyoma in Korea.

This study was to find out whether the rendering screen difference affect to measuring distance in a CAD program according to three types of CAD programs. Materials and methods: The model presented in ISO 12836 for dental scanner evaluation was reduced by 70%. This model was repeatedly scanned 15times using Trios II (3Shape, Denmark). Using the output STL file, 3Shape CAD, inLab 15, and ExoCAD programs were used to measure the horizontal distance (H) and vertical distance (V) between adjacent point angle, and for each experiment, three groups were set according to the CAD program type. Statistical analysis was performed using One-way ANOVA test and post hoc was performed using Dunnett T3 test. Results: In the horizontal and vertical distance measurement, there was no difference in the average of the measured values between the three groups according to the CAD program (P>.05). Conclusion: There were no effect of the difference in the rendering screen in the horizontal and vertical linear distance measurements of the inlay model on the dental CAD program.

Congenital absence of nails usually occur as a rare isolated anomaly or combined with other ectodermal defects. This anomaly is regarded as an inherited disorder either dominantly or recessively but quite a few cases were reported as sporadically developed. The patient was a 2-month-old girl who had no nails on both her 2nd, 3rd toes but had rudimentary nails on her left big toe and both 4th toes at birth. We could not find any other congenital deformity, any family history of inherited diseases related to anonychia. Radiological findings revealed no visualization of both 4th distal phalanges, only. We report this case as congenital anonychia of a sporadic type which may have developed independently from an underlying bone abnormality. We also review other reported cases in the literature.

Korean Circulation Journal 1981;11(1):69-86
For the purpose of elucidating relation between red cell electrolyte concentrations and serum digoxin level, measurement of red cell electrolyte concentrations and seum digoxin level by radioimmunoassay were done in 46 normal controls and 63 patients of CHF including 8 patients with digitalis intoxication. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Red cell sodium concentration and ratio of red cell sodium to red cell potassium concentration in normal males were significantly higher than those of females, and red cell potassium concentration in normal males was significantly lower than that of normal females. 2. Red cell potassium concentration in patients of CHF was significantly higher than that of normal controls, but there was no difference in the red cell sodium concentration between the groups. 3. There was no relation between red cell electrolyte concentrations and serum digoxin level, and red cell electrolyte concentration did not exactly estimate serum digoxin level. 4. Red cell electrolyte concentrations in the patient of CHF were valuable in detecting digitalis toxicity.

Anthropological studies of the proximal femur in a given race is a prerequisite step in designing femoral component of the total hip arthroplasty. As these studies and subsequent data are lacking for Korean hips, the author attempted an anthropological measurement of the Korean proximal femur. The results of this study are as following; l. In the orthoscanographic study for 187 subjects, mean of the maximum femoral length was 43.73±2.13cm for male, 40.53±2.03cm for female, The proportion of femoral length to the body height was found to have a constant ratio −26.10% for male, 25.91% for female. 2. In Anthropological measurement of Korean femur for 58 subjects, mean angle of the femoral anteversion was 19.85±6.86 and the neckshaft angle was 129.6±3.09. 3. In the study of the anterior curvature of femur, position index was 51.95±14.5% for male, 52.61±9.25% for female and index of bowing was 2.58±1.01% for male, 3.01±1.25% for female. In comparision with other races the Korean femur was found to have relatively straight curvature and the apex of the maximum curvature was located more distally. 4. External circumferential diameter of the femur-measured at 15cm below the lesser trochanter-showed 8.79±0.59cm for male and 8.42±0.53cm for female. The sexual difference at this level was statistically significant. (P <0.05). 5. In selected cadaeveric femurs, the minimum transverse diameter of internal mold was 1.26±0.30cm and was located at 12.5cm below the lesser trochanter to 20cm can be estimated by the following equation. Y=2.234−0.191X+0.0078X² for male, Y=2.395−0.173X+0.007X² for female.
