A 38-year-old man, with recurrent oral ulcers for 10 years, was admitted because of recent aggravation of odynophagia and sore throat. About 4 years earlier, he had been performed abdominal surgery for intestinal perforation. Gastrofiberscopic examination showed small round ulcers at hypiopharynx and 6cm sized longitudinal linear ulcer at mid esophagus. Biopsy specimens at mid-esophagus showed chronic inflammation. Besides oral ulcer, he had perianal ulcers and skin rashes. He was managed with steroid, colchicine and sulfasalazine under the diagnosis of esophageal involvement in Behcet's disease. After 3 months from discharge, esophagogram and gastrofiberscopic examination showed some improved appearance, but symptoms recurred for steroid tapering. He has been followed in much improved status for 8 months after discharge.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2000;43(3):444-450
OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to compare the safety and efficacy of intravaginally administered misoprostol(PGE1) versus dinoprostone(PGE2) for labor induction in a prospective controlled trial. METHOD: One hundred eleven patients for labor induction (including preterm rupture of membranes) were randomly assigned to receive either misoprostol 50microgram or dinoprostone 3mg intravaginally. The interval of doses was 8 hours after first dose, with a potential maximum of six dose until active labor pain was achieved. RESULTS: Among 111 patients enrolled, 55 were randomized to receive misoprostol 50microgram and 56 to receive dinoprostone 3mg with every 8 hours interval intravaginally. There were no significant differences in demographic characteristics except in Bishop score(3.81+/-1.52 vs 4.38+/-1.29, P<0.05). There were no significant differences in indications for labor induction. The interval of induction to delivery was shorter in the misoprostol group(750.8+/-518.8min) than in the dinoprostone group(1264.1+/-730.7min). Delivery within 24 hours after administration occurred more often in the misoprostol group than in the dinoprostone group (86.3% vs 65.2%, P<0.05). More than two doses for completion of delivery were frequent in dinoprostone group(36.96% vs 9.8% in misoprostol group, P<0.05). Additional Oxytocin augmentation was needed more commonly in the misoprostol group(3.64%) than in the dinoprostone group(14.29%)(P<0.05), but no significant differences were noted between two groups in total oxytocin doses and indications. Tachysystole occurred more often in the misoprostol group (12.73% vs 1.79% in the dinoprostone, P<0.05) Precipitating delivery occurred more commonly in the misoprostol group(21.82% vs 7.14% in the dinoprostone group, P<0.05). No differences in the cesarean section rate, fetal heart rate abnormalities, hyperstimulation syndrome, meconium staining, fetal outcome (Apgar score at 1 and 5 minutes, birth weight), and marternal outcome (nausea and vomitting, postpartum bleeding) were noted. The cost of misoprosl is one hundredth cheaper than dinoprostone. There was no significant differences in the fetal outcome and maternal outcome. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that intravaginal misoprostol(PGE1) is a safe drug for labor induction which is more effective and cheaper compare to intravaginal dinoprostone(PGE2).

Journal of Dental Rehabilitation and Applied Science 2022;38(1):18-25
Purpose:
This study aimed to evaluate the color stability and antibacterial properties of the surface of polyethyl methacrylate (PEMA) resin with zirconia nanoparticles added.
Materials and Methods:
The control group was pure PEMA resin, and the experiment group was PEMA resin 15 mm in diameter and 2.5 mm in thickness disk-shaped specimens with 2, 4 and 8 w/v% of zirconia nanoparticles added, which were respectively divided into Group Z2, Group Z4, and Group Z8. After analyzing the surface roughness and color stability of the specimens, their antibacterial properties were evaluated using Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis). The Statistical analysis was performed using when normality was met in the Shapiro-Wilk test, one-way ANOVA was used to test parameters, and Tukey’s test was used as a post hoc test. When normality was not met, the Kruskal-Wallis test, a non-parametric test was used (P < 0.05).
Results:
The surface roughness measurement found that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The color stability evaluation showed that the Z2, Z4, and Z8 groups were within the color range of natural teeth. The adhesion of P. gingivalis was evaluated to be significantly reduced in Group Z2 compared to the control group (P < 0.05). In the Z2 group, Z4 group, and Z8 group, dead cells bacteria than the control group were observed.
Conclusion
In conclusion, PEMA resin with zirconia nanoparticles added was within the range of natural teeth in color and reduced the adhesion of P. gingivalis

The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2024;62(3):183-192
Purpose:
This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and information quality of YouTube videos on implant overdenture searched in two languages (Korean and English).
Materials and methods:
Youtube, an online video sharing platform was searched using search terms in two different languages related to implant overdenture. A total of 120 videos were selected (60 videos for each search term), then the reliability and information quality of the videos were evaluated. Topic domain, DISCERN instrument, and JAMA benchmark were used to evaluate the reliability and information quality of the videos. Statistical analyses were performed by using the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test.
Results:
Out of a total of 120 videos, the topic domain scores of 78 (65.0%) videos were evaluated as ‘poor’, and the DISCERN scores of 104.5 (87.1%) videos were evaluated as ‘very poor’ and ‘poor’. The Korean videos had significantly higher topic domain scores and DISCERN scores than the English videos (P < .05). 3.5 Korean videos and 4 English videos met the criteria for attribution of JAMA benchmark.
Conclusion
The reliability and information quality of YouTube videos on implant overdenture were low.

Journal of the Korean Society of Virology 2000;30(1):19-28
Two distinct hantaviruses have been isolated from Apodemus agrarius in 1976 and Rattus norvegicus in 1980 in Korea. Since our serosurveys conducted in 1994, a genetically distinct hantavirus from Apodemus peninsulae has been investigated. To isolate hantavirus from A. peninsulae captured in Korea, the lung homogenate of seropositive A. peninsulae inoculted Vero E6 cells. Viral antigen was detected in a progressively higher percentage of cells with subsequent passage after 80 days postinoculation. The new isolate from seropositive Apodemus peninsulae was designated Suchong virus after Suchong valley located in northeastern region of South Korea. Comparing with hantaan virus 76-118 strain, Suchong virus-1, 2, 3 and 4 showed the similarity of 71.0~91.8% at nucleotide and 90.9~94.8% at amino acid sequences in 231 nucleotides region of M segment, and the similarity of 75.1~81.0% at nucleotide and 97.5~100% at amino acid sequences in 237 nucleotides of S segment.
