Benign symmetric lipomatosis is characterized by massive symmetric fat deposition, predominantly in the neck and shoulder girdle ares. We present a case of benign symmetric lipomatosis with alcoholic liver cirrhosis in a 54-year-old man. About two years ago, solitary skin-colored, non-tender swelling on the right upper arm was developed. The lesion had been aggravsted abruptly and rapidly in size and distribution since about one month ago. Histopathologic findings showed completely replaced reticular dermis and invaded subcutaneous tissue by mature fat cells.

A case of 14 year-old female with linear porokeratosis is reported with review of articles. She has been suffering from dark brownish, typical porokeratotic patches on the face, neck, right axilla, left hand and left lower extremity. Each lesions are distributed in linear arrangement. Family and past history are not contributory. On histologic examination of skin specimen shows typical cornoid lamella which is hallmark of this disease. Treament was carried with 5go salicylic acid ointment and 0. 025% halcinonide ointment alternatively without successful response.

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a relatively rare, but is a well known tumor that occurs almost in male, most frequently during the adolescent stage. Its character is histologically benign but clinically malignant because of locally invasive character to the adjascent structures, massive bleeding tendency during surgical procedure and high recurrence rate after treatment. Recently many advancements diagnostic method and surgical technique has reached satisfactory result in treating this difficult tumor. The authors present a case of nasopharyngeal angiofibroma in 16 years old male patient, who was received surgical removal of the tumor through the transpalatal approach after full diagnostic evaluation and preoperative hormonal therapy.

Modified Mohs surgery is a procedure which eliminated chemical fixation step from Mohs chemosurgery. This technique is faster, less painful and more tissue conserving, allows for immediste repairs, yields higher quality histologic preparations and facilitates an interdisciplinary apporoach; it is the treatment of choice for recurrent or difficult skin cancers. A 58-year-old femele patient presented with a 2x 3cm sized dark brownish, ulcerated nodule on the left upper eyelid. Histopathologic findings revealed several small solid nest composed of basalioma cells in the dermis. We treated with modified Mohs surgery and obtained good result.

Pityriasis rotunda is characterized by perfectly circular to oval brownish scaly patch on the trunk and extremities. This disease is considered to be a form of acquired ichtkyosis of unknown etiology and develops usually in association with certain systemic diseases, such as tuberculosis, malignant neoplasrn, leprosy, ovarian cyst and uterine myoma etc, We experienced 2 cases of pityriasis rotunda on the abdomen, chest and back associated with liver cirrhosis in 66 year old man 43 year old woman and clinical presentation was made with review of related literatures.

A 22-year-old-male patient has numerous brownish-black, soft follicular papules which compatible with acne are scattered on the chest, scapular regions, back and buttocks for 4 5 years duration. Biopsy specimen revealed cystic structures in the mid-dermis lined by squamous cell epithelium w4ich contained laminated keratinous material and varying number of vellus hairs, histopathologically, compatible with diagnosis of eruptive vellus hair cysts. We reviewed clinically the 56 patients, who had anterior interbody fusion of the cervical spine due to various causes, from 1975 to 1984. The result of the studies are as follows; 1. Inawaisting sign of the grafted level is the one of the most important prognostic factors which indicates the favorable fusion. 2. The mechanism of the inwaisting sign is not confirmed, however plausible explanation is the flexure drift law, which cause the inwaisting phenomena. 3. The time of clinical, radiological union and the appearance of the inwaisting sign of the grafted bone in the fusion of the lower cervical spine are displayed earlier than in the upper cervical spine. 4. Fusion at the one level is obtained one or two weeks earlier than the two level fusion. At the two level fusion, one large bone block operation achieved the earlier bony union than the two separate bone blocks fusion; it could shorten the fusion time by 4 weeks radiologically, although there were no significant difference in clinical aspect and inwaisting sign. 5. In the anterior interbody fusion of the cervical spine, clinical fusion took place in 6–7 weeks, and radiological one in 10-14 weeks after the fusion operation. And it was not influenced by the type of injury or neurological complications. The inwaisting sign appeared from the 4th to 7th week postoperatively. 6. There are no problems in the case of posterior instability initially. The reason is that we have performed the cervical traction and absolute bed rest for 4 to 6 weeks before the anterior interbody fusion in order to take the healing of the poterior ligament complex.

Purpose: The purpose of our study is to examine early radiographic findings and clinical signs of failure of the microstructure surface HA-coated acetabular cup. Material and methods: This study included 41 revisions of 204 THA with hydroxyapatite-coated acetabular cup from April 1992 to November 1996. Radiolucent line around cups, change in the cup angle and osteolysis were evaluated in serial radiographs. Acetabular cup was defined as loosening if any movement occurred at the bone and socket interface by manual rotation and extension force intraoperatively or migration of more than 2 mm and change of the cup angle by more than 5 degrees in radiographs. Results: The radiolucent line was observed in 12 of the 41 hips at an average of 55.4 months postoperatively and was most commonly located in zone III. All of the 12 hips showing radiolucent lines were classified as loosening by radiographically in 8 cases and intraoperatively in 4 cases. Radiographic loosening occurred at an average of 28.8 months after the appearance of a radiolucent line. Inguinal pain was noted in 18 of the 19 cases revised for acetabular cup loosening. Conclusion: The most important radiographic finding for the early diagnosis of loosening was progressive radiolucent lines, which occurred most frequently in zone 3.
