Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(1):116-119
Both eruptive vellus hair cyst and steatocystoma multiplex are uncommon conditions. There are clinical similarities between these two entities, but histological features are distinctive. We describe a patient with multiple subcutaneous nodules on the chest and both axilla, showing combined histological features of both an eruptive vellus hair cyst and steatocystoma multiplex. This case suggests that eruptive vellus hair cyst and steatocystoma multiplex are variants of one disorder which originate in the pilosebaceous duct.

Journal of Korean Foot and Ankle Society 2005;9(1):9-12
PURPOSE: This study is to compare the medial longitudinal arch between heel pain group and normal painless group. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Heel pain group 242 feet and normal group 140 feet were evaluated through the radiographic images of standing foot-ankle lateral view. Four radiographic indices, talo-1stmetatarsal angle (TMA), calcaneal-1st metatarsal angle (CMA), calcaneal pitch angle (CPA), and arch ratio (AR), were used as well as BMI. RESULTS: There was no difference between heel pain group and normal group in the TMA, CMA, CPA, and AR. But in the BMI, heel pain group showed 1.7 kg/m2 (p=0.0002) higher than normal group. To eliminate the sexual error, male and female were evaluated separately. Male heel pain group showed 2.9 degrees more dorsiflexion (p=0.001) in the TMA, 3.1 degrees greater (p=0.007) in the CMA, 0.01 lower (p=0.028) in the AR, and 1.0 kg/m2 greater (p=0.033) in the BMI than normal male group. There were no difference in the CPA. Female heel pain group showed 3.6 degree greater (p=0.035) in the CMA, and 1.9 kg/m2 greater (p=0.002) in the BMI than normal female group. But other indices demonstrated no differences. CONCLUSION: talo-1stmetatarsal angle, calcaneal-1st metatarsal angle and arch ratio were radiographic indices related with heel pain.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1992;30(3):373-376
Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug used in the treatement of edema and hypertension. We report a case of hydrochlorothiazide induced photosensitivity in a 54 year old woman who had taken hydrochlorothiazide for 3 years for hypertension. She complained of itching and burning sensation with erythematous papules and lichenified plaques on light-exposed areas. Fhototest showed marked decrease of the minimal erythema dose(MED) for UVA. The symptoms subsided after the use of topical steroid and the substitution atenolol for hydrochlorothiazide.

7.The Effect of Finasteride, Tamsulosin and Doxazosin Therapy on Sexual Function in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.
Korean Journal of Urology 2004;45(8):777-782
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect on sexual function after finasteride, tamsulosin, doxazosin single or combination therapy according the sexual function state before these therapies. Materials and Methods: This study included 192 men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) who had neither diabetes mellitus nor hypertension. All patients were classified into 2 groups according to their erectile dysfunction (ED) severity based on IIEF-5 before treatment; the above mild ED group (severe + moderate + mild to moderate) and mild or no ED group. The patients were assessed by IIEF inventory at the baseline and 1, 3 and 6 months after finasteride, tamsulosin, doxazosin single or combination therapies, respectively. Results: In the above mild erectile dysfunction group the mean IIEF score was significantly decreased at 3 and 6 months with finasteride single therapy, at 6 months with finasteride-tamsulosin combination therapy and at 3 and 6 months with finasteride-doxazosin combination therapy (p<0.05). In the mild or no erectile dysfunction group the mean IIEF score did not change significantly with any of the medications. Conclusions: Sexual function tended to decrease in the above mild ED group with finasteride single or combination therapy. Therefore, the patients in this group should be treated carefully at the beginning of these therapies.

8.The Influence of Apolipoprotein E epsilon4 and Lipid Profile on Cognitive Function in Community-Dwelling Elders with Mild Cognitive Impairment.
Korean Journal of Psychopharmacology 2011;22(1):49-56
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between lipid profiles including total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-cholesterol) and cognitive function by the occurrence of the apolipoprotein E (APOE) epsilon4 in the community-dwelling elderly individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). METHODS: The total number of subjects was 203 (77 men and 126 women) who were diagnosed with MCI from a Korean project of "Early Detection of Dementia". Aged 65-85 years were included in this analysis. The eight neuropsychological domain from the Korean version of Consortium to Establish a Registry of Alzheimer's Disease neuropsychological test battery (CERAD-K, NP) were conducted to test subjects. The lipid profiles of all subjects were measured including TC, TG, HDL-cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol levels and the correlation between the lipid levels and the neuropsychological test scores was analyzed by the occurrence of the APOE epsilon4. RESULTS: There was significant correlation between HDL-C and Word List Recall Test (WLRT) of the neuropsychological test score in CERAD-K (NP) in the presence of APOE epsilon4 (WLRT/HDL-C: r=0.163, p<0.05). CONCLUSION: The HDL-C level might be correlated with verbal episodic memory domain in CERAD-K (NP) test in the presence of APOE epsilon4 in community-dwelling elders diagnosed with MCI.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(5):580-584
BACKGROUND: Glycolic acid has become an important and popular agent for chemical peel. Even though many clinicians perform superficial chemical peel to treat facial acne with glycolic acid, as yet there has been no well-controlled clinical trinls for the comparison of this new peeling agent and Jessner's solution. OBJECTIVE: To compare these two chemical peelI agents, our study was focused on three aspects : 1) treatment effects (acne improvement), 2) side effects (erythema, exfoliation), 3) patients preferences of the treatments. METHOD: Sixteen patients with facial acne vulgaris were treated with 70% glycolic acid and Jessner's solution on each side of the face simultaneously. Treatments were repeated biweekly with acne grading. Patient's subjective preferences were asked after the treatment.
