5.Effects of Job Stress, Physical Activity, Subjective Happiness on Wellness among Bus Drivers

Purpose:
This study aimed to identify the factors that influence the wellness of bus drivers by examining the relationships between job stress, physical activity, subjective happiness, and wellness.
Methods:
Self-report questionnaires were distributed during October 2017.
Results:
Based on a multiple regression analysis, the significant factors found to affect the wellness of bus drivers were physical activity (β=.48,p<.001), subjective happiness (β=.25, p=.001), and job stress (β=-.17, p=.025). The total explanatory power of the study variables for wellness was 45.7% (F=33.04, p<.001).
Conclusion
These findings highlight a need to develop workplace wellness programs to reduce job stress and improve physical activity and subjective happiness among bus drivers.
6.Two Cases of Thin Basement Membrane Nephropathy presented with Minimal Change Nephrotic Syndrome.

Thin basement membrane nephropathy(TBMN) is defined histologically as follows: 1) By light rnicroscopy only minor abnormalities are detected in the glomeruli at most minor mesangial widening. 2) By electron microscopy, diffuse thinning of glomerular basement rnembrane is demonstrated. 3) By immunofluorescence, absence of immunoglobulins and complement components is demonstrated. 4) Alport's syndrome and systemic diseases that may affect the glomerular structure have been excluded. TBMN presented frequently with recurrent or persistent microscopic hematuria. Massive proteinuria such as in nephrotic syndrome rarely occurs in TBMN. We reported two cases of TBMN presented with typical minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

7.The Effects of a Weight Control Program with Competence.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a weight control program and compliancy in overweight women. METHOD: This program was composed of strategies to modify diet and exercise and to change compliance and self determination over an 8 week period. The subjects were 19 overweight women who participated in our project voluntarily. Data was collected from May 4 to Jun 30 of 2007. The program consisted of regular rapid walking exercise, diet, mobile phone messages and e-mail. The data was analyzed by Repeated Measures ANOVA using the SPSS WIN program. RESULT: According to 3 assessment periods, there were significant differences in body weight, body mass index, and compliance. There were no significant differences in self determination. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that more intensive interventions may be needed to demonstrate a change in self determination.

8.The Meta Analysis of Trends and the Effects of Non-pharmacological Intervention for School Aged ADHD Children.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the trends and the effects of intervention related to ADHD children by meta-analysis. METHODS: After review of 200 articles released from 1990 to 2009 from RISS, KISS, and DBpia, 26 studies was conducted to determine methodological data, 362 research variables, using SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. RESULTS: Effects size of overall intervention is 1.32 which is high level in terms of Cohen criteria. The greatest effect of intervention is obtained from cognitive behavior control training (1.79). Also art therapy (1.29) and social skill training (0.97) are highly effective whereas parents education (0.66) is only moderate effective. Duration of each session and numbers of session are influential in cognitive behavior control and social skills training. CONCLUSION: The results reveal that ADHD intervention has large effect sizes for core features and peripheral features of target outcome variables. For improving the reliability of the meta-analysis results by minimizing publication bias, more intervention studies using appropriated study design should be done.

9.Factors Influencing Medication Adherence in Hypertensive Patients.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify factors that influence medication adherence in patients with hypertension. METHODS: One hundred sixty two patients with hypertension who visited the outpatient clinics of health centers in J City participated in the study. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey done from January 9 to February 25, 2008. To analyze the sample survey data, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and multiple regression analysis were performed with SPSS/WIN 12.0. RESULTS: Significant factors that affect medication adherence in patients with hypertension were autonomous motivation, competence, health status, and sex. These variables explained 24% of medication adherence (F=12.48, p<.001). CONCLUSION: The results indicate that in order to improve the medication adherence of patients with hypertension it is important to develop nursing programs that focus on autonomous motivation and competence and to give consideration to differences in health status and sex. Also further studies are needed to confirm autonomous motivation related to health behavior in patients with hypertension.

10.Gender Differences in Factors Influencing The Framingham Risk Score-Coronary Heart Disease by BMI.

PURPOSE: This study was to investigate factors influencing the Framingham risk score-Coronary heart disease (FRS-CHD) according to gender and body mass index (BMI) of adults who participated in the 5th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES V-3). METHODS: This study used a cross-sectional design with secondary analysis with KNHANES V-3. The FRS-CHD scores were measured with ages, sex, blood pressure, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, smoking, and diabetes mellitus. With demographic characteristics, family history of ischemic heart disease, types (intensity) and days of physical activities, perceived stress, drinking, menopause (in female), and BMI scores were measured. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions. RESULTS: FRS-CHD was significantly associated with types (intensity) and days of physical activities, educational level, occupation, and marital status, explaining 19.1~76.8% of the variance in men. FRS-CHD was significantly associated with types (intensity) and days of physical activities, menopause, and education level, explaining 55.0~59.5% of the variance in women. CONCLUSION: Factors influencing FRS-CHD were significantly different according to gender and BMI. To reduce the risk of coronary artery disease, it is necessary to develop gender-specific physical activity programs according to BMI.
