Adenocarcinoma of the Meibomian gland is very rare but lethal tumors. Clinically, most of the time sebaceous gland carcinoma is mistaken for a chalazion. Any recurrent chalazion should be submitted for histologic study, and any chronic, recalcitrant, atypical blepharitis should be biopsied. The treatment of the choice is excisional biopsy and followed by radiation therapy. A 30 year old Korean male had a hard, nontender mass on the left upper lid which had recurred after chalazion surgery. The tumor was removed surgically as repair with modified Wheeler direct full halving procedure, and found to be a adenocarcinoma of the Meibomian gland histopathologically. There was no evidence of recurrence and metastasis to remote site a year after surgery with radiation therapy.

Sebaceous carcinoma is a malignant tumor derived from the adnexal epithelium of sebaceous glands and is usually located on the meibomian glands of the eyelid, but may occur on the extraocular sites. We present two cases of sebaceous carcinoma developed on the unusual site. The first case was 66-year old woman, who had 2.2X3.0cm sized, yellowish, verrucous surfaced plaque on the abdomen for 20 years. The second case of 79-year old man had annular shaped erythematous greasy patch with peripherally located flat plaque on the left scapular area for 1 month. His past medical history included subtotal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer(type IIa) and could not find any recurrence or metastasis for 4 years duration. The histopathologic examination revealed irregular, variable sized tumor lobules. Each lobule was composed of sebaceous and undifferentiated cells showing considerable variation in the shape and size of their nuclei and prominent nucleoli. On the basis of clinicopathologic examination we diagnosed first case as sebaceous carcinoma and second case as Muir-Torre syndrome.

3.Two Cases of Meibomian Gland Adenocarcinoma.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1976;17(3):307-311
The Clinical Resemblance of the rare carcinoma of the meibomian gland to the relatively frequent chalazion should be kept in mind by anyone performing eye lid surgery. The author recently experienced two cases of Meibomian gland adenocarcinoma of upper lid. In the first case a 65-year old female visited our hospital in March, 1976 with a large mass in the right upper eyelid which had showed progressive enlargement of two years duration. A Diopsy was carried out and the histopathological examination revealed sebaceous adenocarcinoma. She was treated with local resection with full thickness containing normal tissue around the lesion of upper lid and reconstructive surgery for upper eyelid. A radiation therapy was performed with good result. In second case, a 80-year old female visited our hospital in Dec. 1975 with a large mass in the left upper eye lid which had showed progressive enlargement of one year duration. The tumor was resected and the histopathologic examination revealed sebaceous adenocarcinoma. A radiation therapy was performed with good result.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(5):568-572
Twenty six individuals with tattoos, who were seen during physical examination for conscription from Febrary to May, 1985, were biopsied for a histopatholigical study of tattoos. The results were as follows ; 1. There was perivascular deposition of pigment in all cases. 2. There cases showed deposition only in the upper dermis. 3. Six cases showed deposition in the upper and lower dermis. 4. Five cases showed deposition around the eccrine glands and two around the sebaceous glands. 5. Six cases showed mild lymphohistiocytic infiltrations in the dermis. 6. There was no difference in size of the particles regardless of infiltrated areas and tattoo materials.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2002;40(5):559-562
Proliferating trichilemmal cyst(PTC) is a rare benign neoplasm that is thought to be derived from the outer root sheath of anagen hair follicles differentiating toward the infundibular and matrical segments, sebaceous glands, apocrine glands, or acrosyringium. Clinically, it presents as a solitary elevated, lobulated mass on the scalp of elderly women. Histologically, it shows well demarcated multiple lobules of squamous epithelium. The center of the lobule undergoes abrupt keratinization without formation of keratohyalin and foci of calcification are often present in the areas of amorphous keratin. PTC can be associated with sebaceous nevus of Jadassohn, ectopic apocrine sweat glands, spindle cell carcinoma, etc. We report an unusual case of proliferating trichilemmal cyst with trichoepitheliomatous change in a young woman.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1989;27(4):448-451
We experienced an atypical case of sebaceous gland hyperplssis in a 28-year old male. He had asymptomatic, multiple, globoid, yellowish papules in a zosteriform distribution on the right lower abdomen (T8 dermatome) that were of 5 years duration. Histologically, there are many hyperplastic lobules of sebaceous glands, some of which are connected with a central dilated duct.
