Menetrier's disease is a rare disease characterized by the presence of large rugal folds involving part or all of the stomach. Patients with hypertrophic gastropathy often have distressing abdominal symptoms, weight loss and edema due to gastric protein loss. The 48-year-old male patient was admitted to the Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital with cheif complaints of indigestion and epigastric pain. The diagnosis of Menetriers disease is established by radiologic, endoscopic, and pathologic examination. He was treated with soft diet, antacid, H2- receptor antagonist, and IV albumin. We report a case of Menetriers disease with brief review of literatures.

Korean Journal of Urology 2005;46(10):1083-1087
PURPOSE: To make a histological study of a urethral plate using light and transmission electron microscopies to find evidence responsible for ventral curvature in hypospadias. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Full thickness biopsies of the urethral plate were obtained from 5 patients with proximal hypospadias; including 4 children and 1 adult. All specimens were examined with light and transmission electron microscopies. RESULTS: With the light microscope, all specimens demonstrated well vascularized connective tissue, comprised of smooth muscle and collagen. With the transmission electron microscope, all specimens demonstrated intact endothelial cells and fibroblasts, with dispersed chromatin distribution, intercellular loose collagen and a regular arrangement of collagen fibrils in intercellular spaces. No histological evidence of fibrous cord could be found in any of the specimens. CONCLUSIONS: No histological evidence of fibrous cord could be historically found that could be considered responsible for ventral penile curvature in hypospadias.

Journal of Dental Rehabilitation and Applied Science 2018;34(4):262-269
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the deformation of the complete denture artificial teeth arrangement after festooning over time. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 10 wax dentures of equal teeth arrangement and equal gingival contour were used in this study. Festooning of the wax dentures were conducted and 3D model scans were conducted every 10 minutes for 120 minutes. Interdental transverse distances were measured with the scanned images. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS Ver. 22. 0. RESULTS: Interdental transverse distance between teeth varied from 0.0999 mm to 0.1787 mm. Mean rate of deformation showed statistically significant change between the 40 – 50 minute interval and 50 – 60 minute interval and between the 50 – 60 minute interval and 60 – 70 minute interval. No statistically significant change of the mean rate of deformation was observed later on. CONCLUSION: Monitoring of the interdental transverse distance for 120 minute after festooning have shown the deformation and displacment of the artificial teeth arrangement. From after the 60 – 70 minute interval after festooning, the mean deformation showed no statistically significant change of the mean rate of deformation was observed. Within the limitations of this in vitro study results suggest that the final occlusal adjustment in wax denture before complete denture curing should be proceeded at least 60 minutes later after festooning.

8.Toxicity of Polylactic Acid Polymer in the Treatment of Paranasal Sinusitis.

Journal of Rhinology 1997;4(2):104-110
The authors, after inducing acute sinusitis in rabbits, compared cases where we opened the natural ostium and a general dose of administered antibiotics and cases where we opened the natural ostium and locally administered dose of antibiotics using polymer, and found that the application of local antibiotics using polymer is the superior of the two in treating sinusitis. To be able to develop a treatment for sinusitis using antibiotics incorporating polymer, we first need to examine the toxicity of polymer. The purpose of this study was to examine the toxicity of polymer through a general toxicity test as well as a special toxicity test in experiments using animals. As a result of this study, we discovered that poly-L-lactic acid (PLA) polymer works as an intraperitoneal foreign body and causes adhesion of viscera, but nethier acute nor subacute toxicity of PLA polymer was detected, and no negative effect on reproductive function was observed. It was also observed to induce neither immune reaction such as hypersensitivity nor local toxicity to the maxillary sinus mucosa of rabbit. We conclude that the results of this study can provide basic information for developing antibiotics-incorporating PLA polymer for the treatment of sinusitis and for clinical experiments involving such antibiotics.
