BACKGROUND: To describe the fast experience of case-leased advanced cardiac life support(ACLC) course in Korea. METHODS: We have given case-based ACLC course to 13 nurses(6 emergency nurses, 4 coronary care unit muses, 3 professors) and 17 physicians(4 emergency physicians, 12 emergency residents, 1 intem). We performed the case-based ACLS course according to 1992 American Heart Association guidelines and recommendations for advanced cardiac life support by american ACLS instructors(1 pulmonologist, 4 critical care nurses). We performed final theoretical written test and 2 times written survey (immediate and 100th day after the course) about the course. RESULTS: On final written test, all practitioners answered at leasts 70% of the questions correctly. There was no significant difference between nurses and physicians(86.2+/-3.6 of physicians and 82.5+/-6.8 of nurses, p=0.06). 90%of participants considered that case-based advanced cardiac life support was acceptable. 100th day after the course, 93%of participants answered that ACLS course have been helpful on his/her job and also want retraining of ACLS course. 70%of participants considered that ideal ACLS training committee in Korea is the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine. CONCLUSION: Case-based ACLS course is a useful educational method far physicians and nurses in Korea. In the future, we should organize Korean resuscitation committee and then make guidelines for ACLS, and then continuously educate physicians and nurses.

2.Study on the consumption practices and Importance-Satisfaction Analysis of meal-kit selection attributes among adults in their 20s and 30s
Journal of Nutrition and Health 2023;56(3):315-329
Purpose:
This study examined the meal-kit consumption practices of adults in their 20s and 30s and analyzed the properties that should be given priority for improvement among the selection attributes to improve the quality of meal-kits.
Methods:
Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS program (ver. 28.0) for χ2-test, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan’s multiple range test, factor analysis, and Importance-Satisfaction Analysis (ISA).
Results:
Of the 249 subjects surveyed, 85.5% had some experience of purchasing meal-kits, with significantly more females than males (p < 0.01), significantly more married people than single people (p < 0.05), significantly more employed people than unemployed people (p < 0.05). Meal-kits were purchased most frequently for meals (60.6%), from discount stores or supermarkets (44.6%), and priced between 10,000 won and 20,000 won per person (46.9%). The overall satisfaction with meal-kits was 4.1 out of 5.0 points. The frequency of purchases was Korean soup dishes (69.5%), Korean main dishes (47.4%), and Korean street snacks (46.9%). Factor analysis of the meal-kit selection attributes revealed, 4 factors: ‘quality of food,’ ‘packaging and diversity,’ ‘quality of meal-kit,’ and ‘convenience and price.’ Compared to single-person households, multi-person households placed significantly higher importance on the ‘quality of food,’ ‘packaging and diversity,’ and ‘quality of meal-kit.’ The factor, ‘packaging and diversity’ were significantly higher in the importance evaluation scores for females (p < 0.01), married people (p < 0.05), and people in their 30s (p < 0.05) among meal-kit consumers. According to the ISA results, a critical aspect that meal-kit manufacturers or sellers should strengthen is ‘price.’
Conclusion
Meal-kit products will need to be developed for various purposes that offer high value for money that can satisfy the consumers’ needs to improve the satisfaction of meal-kit consumers.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of chin tuck maneuver on aspiration and pharyngeal residue using both videofluoroscopic swallowing study (VFSS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES). METHOD: Subjects with dysphagia were trained by occupational therapists for chin tuck maneuver at least for a week. After training, all participants underwent VFSS and FEES simultaneously with each neutral and chin tuck posture with various tests diets. The modified penetration-aspiration scale (mPAS) and a new scale for pharyngeal residue were used for evaluation of aspiration and pharyngeal residue. RESULT: A total of 35 patients (mean age, 64.2±12.1 years) were included. A significant change in the mPAS was caused by chin tuck posture in thin liquid (P=0.02) only in the VFSS evaluation. The vallecular residues were decreased by chin tuck posture in rice porridge (right, P=0.01; left, P=0.009), and thin liquid (right, P=0.007; left, P=0.01). The pyriform sinus residues were also decreased by chin tuck posture in rice porridge (right: P=0.02; left: P=0.03), curd-type yogurt (right, P=0.02; left, P=0.005), and thin liquid (right, P=0.001; left, P=0.003). CONCLUSION: Chin tuck maneuver is effective in preventing penetration or aspiration and in decreasing pharyngeal residues when evaluated by simultaneous VFSS and FEES.

Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2011;17(3):293-300
PURPOSE: This study was done to explore time management behavior and self-efficacy in nursing students and to analyze the correlations between time management behavior and self-efficacy. METHODS: The data were collected from May 12 to 20 2010 using self-report questionnaires about time management behavior and self-efficacy of nursing students. The data from 508 students were analyzed using descriptive analysis, K-means clustering, and one-way ANOVA. RESULTS: The mean score for time management behavior was 3.03+/-1.11 out of a possible 5, and self-efficacy was 3.65+/-0.42 out of a possible 6. Four groups were identified according to time management behavior. The four groups were significantly different on self-efficacy total (p=<.05) and self-regulatory efficacy (p=.<005). The group with the highest score for time management had the highest score for self-efficacy. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study indicate that time management behavior styles are related to self-efficacy for nursing students. Therefore, time management education programs based on the time management behavior styles are needed to increase self-efficacy in nursing students.

BACKGROUND: When using the data based on history, ECG and cardiac enzyme, two to eight percent of patients with acute chest pain are incorrectly perceived as being at low risk and therefore sent home mistakenly. It is known that changes of Doppler parameters appear first, before regional asynergy in 2D-echocardiography, electrocardiographic change and chest pain. however, the clinical application of Doppler information in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction remains uncertain, especially in elderly patients. METHODS: From March 1998 to March 1999, pulsed wave Doppler echocardiography was performed in patients with acute myocardial infarction within 6 hours, and Doppler parameters were evaluated. Each Doppler parameters were compared between elderly (age > or =65) and young(age < 65) groups. RESULT: E peak velocity & E/A ratio showed significant differences between two groups(p<0.05). especially, Stroke volume, isovolumic relaxtion time & myocardial performace index showed marked difference(p<0.01). CONCLUSION: Diastolic Doppler parameters of elderly group were significantly changed than younger group. however systolic Doppler parameters were relatively preserved. Among Doppler parameters, myocardial performance index is a conceptrally new, simple and reproducible Doppler index of combined systolic and diastolic myocardial performance, and it may be useful as screening test for patients with AMI in elderly patients.
