Journal of Gynecologic Oncology 2008;19(3):202-204
Epithelioid sarcoma of vulva is extremely rare. Only 20 cases have been reported in the literature so far. Early diagnosis is difficult because of its benign appearance as a painless subcutaneous nodule. Therefore treatment can be delayed, although epithelioid sarcoma requires prompt surgery. We report a case of epithelioid sarcoma that occurred in the left vulva with a brief review of literature.

Aspiration biopsy cytology is a convenient, easy and non-invasive method for diagnosis of tumors. The results and cytologic features of carcinoma in various organs have been reported frequently, however, those of soft tissue sarcoma are relatively rare to find.

Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(6):901-904
Retroperitoneal liposarcoma is reported to comprise 12 to 43 per cent of all liposarcomas that are about one-fourth of all the soft part sarcomas. Because of its early silent rapid growth and wide spread, there have been difficulties in early diagnosis and wide en-bloc excision in the retroperitoneum. Herein a case of huge retroperitoneal liposarcoma in a 41-year-old male is presented with a brief review of the literatures.

Alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is a rare form of soft tissue sarcoma, and frequently, metastases are found at diagnosis. In patients with metastatic or unresected ASPS, systemic treatment is extremely limited, because conventional chemotherapeutic agents have not been effective in most cases. A novel agent inhibiting angiogenesis, pazopanib, has been proven to be effective for metastatic soft tissue sarcoma in a second-line setting. However, the efficacy of pazopanib in ASPS has not yet been reported. A 22-year-old man presented with right calf ASPS and multiple lung metastases. Pazopanib as a second-line treatment showed significant tumor response. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the effectiveness of pazopanib in ASPS.
