Korean Journal of Pathology 2000;34(2):164-166
Cranial fasciitis is a rare fibroblastic tumor which shows a predilection for the scalp of young children. We present a child with a rapidly growing mass and lytic skull lesion which on pathologic evaluation was diagnosed as cranial fasciitis. Histologically this lesion was identical to nodular fasciitis which was typically found in the trunk and extremities of adults. Cranial fasciitis is unique in that it may present as a lytic lesion in the skull, but this disease entity is not widely known to pathologists and radiologists, and should be included in the differential diagnosis of fibroblastic lesion occurring in the cranium of young children.

Journal of the Korean Association of Pediatric Surgeons 1998;4(2):110-116
A clinical review was made on 2,191 cases of general pediatric surgery under the age of 15 years which were operated upon at the Divisionof Pediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, Chonnam University Hospital from January 1988 to December 1997. The number of operations in pediatric age were 13,144 (13.2%) out of total 99,555 operations at Chonnam University Hospital and the most prevalent age group was under 1 year of age (14.3%). The number of operations in Divisionof General Pediatric Surgery were 2,191 (16.7%) out of total 13,144 operations in pediatric age and the incidence of patients under 1 year of age in general pediatric surgery was 42.9% (941/2,191). The prevalent diseases under 1 month of age were anorectal malformations (20.6%) and hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (20.3%) and between 1 month to 1 year of age were inguinal hernia (32.4%) and intussusception (19.6%). The total motality rate in neonatal intensive care unit was 31.3%. Gastroschisis presented highest mortality.

Contact urticaria designates a local immediate and/or delayed urticaria reaction, with swelling and redness at the sites of contact with certain agents. Fruits are the frequently causative agent for immunologically mediated contact urticaria. We report herein a contact urticaria occurring in a 20-year-old male immediately aftar contact with peach and plum, and after ingestion of plum, peach and apple. Swelling and itching sensation of lips and oral cavity, and tightness of chest were also developed ofter ingestion of plum, peach and apple.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1991;29(2):187-192
Autograft using suction hlistered epidermis is one of the surgical therapeutic mod- alities of vitiligo, and has been successfully used by several authors. The maintenance of grafting pigment is belieued to be more important than repigmentation itself. To examine the maintenance of pigment, 22 vitiligo patients were treated by autograft using suction blistered epidermis and followed for 16.8 months. Repigmentation developed in 20 patients, Two patients were lost to follow up. Out of 20 patients, grafting pigment was maintained in 17 patients(85% ) and disappeared in three patients(15% ). By clinical subtype, the rates of maintenance were 100% in segmental type, 80% in localized type and 66% in generalized type. The best results were observed in a head and neck location and the worst rates and maintenance were in the hand. However, these differences were not statistically significant. likewise, age and sex were not factors in maintenance and repigrnentation. Based on this study, autograft using suction blistered epidermis appears to be a good therapeutic modality for stable vitiligo, particularly segmental vitiligo.

Journal of the Korean Knee Society 1997;9(2):168-172
The most commonly used graft source for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is the autogenous bone- patellar tendon-bone graft unit. Despite a good success record, intraoperative technical errors and postoperative complications have been known. Author analyzed intraoperative technical errors and postoperative complications, in 44 patients who were treated at the department of orthopaedic surgery, chosun university hospital from Jan. 1994 to Jun. 1996. The most common intraoperative technical errors was screw graft divergency in 5 cases. Other intraoperative technical errors were too anteriorly location of femoral tunnel in 1 case, too anteriorly location of tibial k femora) tunne.l both in 1 case, graft tunnel mismatching in 1 case, graft pullout in 1 case and partial destruction of posterior cortex of femoral tunnel in 1 case, fracture of the bone plug in 1 case. The most common postoperative complication was patellar tendinitis in 20 cases (45.5%). Other postoperative complications were anterior knee pain in 14 case. (31.8%), patellar crepitation in 12 cases (27.3%), quadriceps atrophy in 9 cases (20.5%), arthrofibrosis in 3 cases and graft failure in 2 cases. Author concluded the causes of intraoperative complications were technical errors, and anteriorly location of graft tunnel is most influenced factor to final fuctional results. To eliminate the postoperative complications, intraoperative technical errors should be avoided and also accelerated rehabilitation should be done.
