Korean Journal of Dermatology 1974;12(4):249-253
A case of familiar benign chronic pemphigus is reported. A 41 years old housewife has recurrent history of developing grouped vesicular eruptions with erythematous erosion on the intertrigenous area since 29 years of her age. The lesions were used to aggrevated in summer and improved in autumn. Familiar history revealed same disease of her grand mother, father, 44 year old elder sister and 39 year old younger sister. All of whom had similar clinical signs and symptoms. Routine physical and Iaboratoryfindings were within normal limits. The histopathological findings, from vesicular eruption of the lateral aspect of neck, showed multilocular suprabasal clefts with acantholsis, villi formation and hyperkeratosis. The lesions were improved hy the local application of corticostcroidoid ointrnent only.

Japanese Journal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine 2010;59(4):363-374
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of combined exercise on visceral fat, cardiac function, adipocytokine, and NT-pro BNP concentration according to angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE) genotype in obese middle aged men. Fifty three obese men (II type: 18, ID type: 20, DD type: 15), ratio of visceral and subcutaneous were over 0.4, were enrolled in the study. The combined exercise program included stretching, resistance training, aerobic exercise, and yoga. The exercise was conducted for 60 minutes, 4 times a week for 12 week period. ACE genotype was determined using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and the genetic subtype was classified in three patterns e.g. II, ID, DD. As a results, body weight, BMI, and WHR significantly decreased after 12 weeks of combined exercise in ID type and DD type. Body fat(%), visceral fat and V/S significantly decreased after 12 weeks in DD type. HDL-C and LDL-C significantly improved in II, ID and DD type. Cardiac structure decreased in all genotype and cardiac function increased in DD type. IL-6 and NT-pro BNP, the risk factors of cardiovascular disease, were significantly decreased in DD type, after 12 weeks. Therefore, exercises have shown to be most effective in type DD which is also considered as the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Among all the ACE genotype, DD type requires the most exercise.

BACKGROUND: As people have been interested in healt,h and as the microcomputers with multimedia steeing have been supplied more and more, there is increasing need of multimedia information about health. The CD-ROM, which is a representative multimedia tool, is capable of interacting between information-provider and users, offering audiovisual interface, and saving great deal of knowledge. METHODS: We developed the health-information system to provide ordinary people with hea1th information using multimedia tools. It, has 7 parts ; self-diagnosis, exploring human body, drug information, hospital information, first-aid treatment, Q and A, and medical common sense. We got image data such as figures, photos, X-rays, electrocardiograms and pathologic specimens with scanner and film scanner, also moving image(video) with video-capturing program. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: We hope the multimedia health-information system to become a useful methodology of patient education and to be used as an information source in medical information network in the near future.

Korean Circulation Journal 1991;21(2):350-355
Thirty patient with essential hypertension were administered Manidipine, a new calcium antagonist, 10~20mg once daily to evaluate the hypotensive efficacy and safety for 8 weeks. And the followings were the result. 1) Patients were consists of 14 male, 16 female, aged 53 in average and classified as mild in 21 and moderate in 9 patients. 2) Optimum intial dose was 10mg and 10 to 20mg were the doses recommended. 3) Blood pressure dropped after 8 weeks 24/13mmHg in average, rewarding 80% effectiveness and normalized in 87%. 4) Most frequent side reaction was facial flushing in 5 patiens followed by palpitation and dizziness, all of which did not disturb the continuation of medication. 5) Most of routine laboratory parameter were normal and unchanged between before and after the trial. 6) Overall rating of usefulness was 77%. In conclusion, Manidipine 10 to 20mg once daily regimen is well tolerated and effective in the treatment of mild to moderate essential hypertension.

10.Effects of Three Dimensional Corrective Osteotomy in Cubitus Varus of Adults
Moon Sang CHUNG ; Goo Hyun BAEK ; Sang Eun PARK ; Kwang Hyun YOO
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1995;30(5):1373-1381
Cubitus varus is a complex three-dimentsional deformity. In addition to deformity on varus-valgus plane, internal torsion of distal humerus is frequently combined. Also limitation of flexion-extension could be associated in some patients. Surgical correction of the cubitus varus after skeletal maturity, could have some different clinical course from those of growing children. However there have been few papers dealing with the surgical treatment of cubitus varus in adults. From May 1988 to December 1993, 23 patients who were older than 17 years of age, had correc- tive osteotomy for cubitus varus considering its three planes of the deformity at Seoul National University Hospital. To prevent serpentine deformity medial displacement of distal fragment was also combined during operation. The avereage age was 26 years(17-47), and the average follow-up after the operation was 1 year and 6 months(6 months-3 years). The presumed diagnosis of initial injury deduced from history and preoperative radiograms, was supracondylar fracture in 19 cases(86.4%). Others were lateral condylar fracture of humerus in two, and fractures associated with elbow dislocation in two. The average age at the time of initial injury was 8 years(2-14), and average delay from occurrence of deformity to the operation, were 13 years. Tardy ulnar nerve palsy was associated in 3 cases(13.6%). The preoperative average angle of cubitus varus was 26 degrees(16-45), flexion contracture 11 degrees(-5
