1.Hair Casts in Sisters.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(6):1116-1118
Hair casts are firm, yellowish white accretions ensheathing but not attached to the scalp and are freely movable up and down the affected shafts. There are two types of hair casts. The common type is found frequently in association with parakeratotic scalp disorders. The uncommon type, peripilar keratin cast is not associated with any cutaneous abnormality either in the scalp or elsewhere and it develops in young girls aged between 2 and 8 years. We report two cases of peripilar keratin casts that had developed in sisters who have had tightly tied-up their hairs for a long time.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1995;29(5):684-686
Leiomyomas are benign tumors of smooth muscle origin and are very rare in the female genital tract. To date, approximately 35 cases of urethral leiomyoma have been reported in the literature. A 34-year-old woman presented with a 3-year history of a mass at the urethral meatus. Physical examination showed 2 x 1.5 cm lump at the urethral meatus, posterior lip. Histologically the tumor was mainly composed of benign cigar shaped smooth muscle izells which were arranged in interlacing fascicles without cellular atypia or mitosis. Immunohistochemistry confirmed leiomyoma with positive staining for vimentin, desmin and muscle specific actin.

4.Association Between Infection of Human Papillomavirus and Decreased Expression of Cyclin DI in Cervical Neoplasia.
Korean Journal of Gynecologic Oncology and Colposcopy 1999;10(4):315-323
Cyclin Dl, one of Gl cyclin gene subfamily, and human papillomaviruses (HPV) oncoprotein E7 have a homology in binding sites for the retinoblastoma tumor-suppressor protein. In order to evaluate the role of cyclin Dl in human cervical carcinogenesis, the level of its expression was measured and compared to HPV infection. In these studies, 38 normal control cases, 22 carcinoma in situ (CIN) cases, and 16 invasive cervical carcinomas were analyzed by immunocytochemistry and polymerase chain reactions for the detection of expression of cyclin Dl and infection of HPV type 16 and 18, respectively. The cyclin Dl expression was significantly lower in CIN and invasive carcinoma than normal control group regardless of HPV infection (p=0.026). The decreased expression of cyclin Dl in normal control group was not related with HPV infection. However, the levels of expression of cyclin Dl in CIN and invasive carcinoma were correlated with HPV 16and 18 (p 0.026). The expression of cyclin E was not changed in HPV 16 and 18 infected cases. These data provide the evidence that cyclin Dl expression in the lesions of cervical tumor is decreased and it is related with HPU infection.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(6):801-803
We report a case of mycosis fungoides in a 30 year-old man who had been treated for multiple open fractures after a traffic accident. Histopathologic findings showed epidermotrophism wiih hyperchromatic haloed lymphocytes and atypical lymphocytic infiltration in the upper dermis. The infiltrated cells were positively stained with CD45Ro, but not with CD20. He had no evidence of extracutaneous involvement by laboratory studies, Skin lesions improved markedly after treatment with systemic PUVA therapy combined with topical corticosteroids for 3 months.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1995;29(6):804-806
An unusual pattern of focal involvement of lymph nodes by Hodgkin's disease is described using the name Interfollicular Hodgkin's Disease. It is characterized by florid reactive follicular hyperplasia which overshadows involvement of the interfollicular zones by Hodgkin's desease. The importance of interfollicular Hodgkin's disease rests on its misdiagnosis as a benign lesion. We report a case of interfollicular Hodgkin's disease in a 34-year-old female patient in the inguinal area. The lymph nodes showed reactive follicular hyperplasia. The focal interfollicular spaces were invaded by Hodgkin's disease. The Reed-Stemberg cells stained positively with CD15 and CD30 antibody in the immunohistochemical stain. An in situ hybridization study looking for EBV was negative in these R-S cells.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(6):819-821
Aneurysmal benign fibrous histiocytoma(ABFH) is a relatively rare variant and has a distinctive histopathological features, that is collections of capillaries, foci of hemorrhage, siderophages, and foamy macrophages surrounding cleft-like and cavernous blood filled spaces in the tumor. But, in spite af the distinctive features, it is not infrequently confused with malignant melanoma, angiomatoid malignant fibrous histiocytoma, and vascular tumors such as spindle cell hemangioendothelioma, nodular Kaposi's sarcoma and angiosarcoma. We report a case of ABFH developed on the left upper extremity of a 41-year-old man.

Annals of Dermatology 1996;8(4):282-286
Clear cell hidradenoma, generally as an eccrine sweat gland origin, is a fairly uncommon tumor and occurs as a slowly growing, usually solitary nodule. The histological patterns vary from one tumor to another and in different parts of the same tumor. We experienced three cases of clear cell hidradenoma which were diagnosed by the histopathologic examination of the tumor mass removed by surgical excision. Clinical and histopathologic features of each case were reviewed and compared.
