By light and scanning electron microscopy, the morphologies of Korean pubic louse(Phthirus pubis) were described and measured. Especially, electron microscopic structures of palpus, tuft organ, sensilla basiconicum and palpal lobe were reviewed in detail. The variations were obserbed in the number of dorsal setae and the setae of membranous processes of abdomen. And also, the importance of public health and epidemiological aspects was discussed.

Korean Journal of Nephrology 1998;17(6):905-910
PURPOSE: We performed a retrospective study to determine the comparative characteristics of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) between the infants less than 1 year and children more than 1 year old and whether early treatment in infantile VUR may be of benefit to preserve the renal function and to prevent the new renal scar. MATERIALS AND METHODS: All of 62 cases (infant group 19 and children group 43) with primary VUR were managed as the ureteral reimplantation from January 1991 to December 1996. RESULTS: The average age of patients was 7.1 months in infant group and 6.0 years in children group. The sex ratio of male to female showed no difference between infant and children group (1.7:1 Vs 1.5:1). The average follow up periods were 20.5 and 23.7 months in infant and children groups, respectively. The high grade reflux and renal scarring in infant group were significantly more frequent than those in children group (P<0.05), but the prevalence of urinary tract infection in children group was significantly higher than that in infant group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the rates of bilaterality and in the sex ratio between infant and children group. The success rate of operation was 100 percent in both groups. CONCLUSION: We suggest that the early surgical treatment in infants with bilateral and higher grade VUR may be of benefit to the preservation of renal function and the decrease of renal parenchymal change.

Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1993;10(1):77-81
The clinical evaluation was done in eight eyes of four patients with bilateral branch retinal vein occlusion. The onset of age was from 36 to 65 years, and three pa dents were women. Hypertension was the most common associated systemic disease. Retinal neovascularization was complicated in six eyes, and five eyes had vitreous hemorrhage. The vitrectomy was performed in three eyes. We believe that branch retinal vein occlusion associated with hypertension should be followed carefully in the fellow eyes.

5.Two Cases of Cutaneous Larva Migrans.

Annals of Dermatology 1998;10(1):61-63
Cutaneous larva migrans(CLM) is a ubiquitous self-limiting skin eruption which has intensely pruritic, serpiginous, raised, sharply demarcated, red lesions. It is most frequently caused by larvae of dog and cat hookworms. We report two typical cases of cutaneous larva migrans that appeared as pruritic exanthems in two people after they had travelled in Southeast Asia. It is suggested one should consider cutaneous larva migrans in the differential diagnoses of erythematous pruritic lesions.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1999;42(1):53-57
OBJECTIVE: The patients of endometriosis may complain of dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and dyspareunia, but may be asymptomatic. We studied on the correlation between the pain and the psychologic stress, Also, we studied on the correlation between serum CA-l25 levels and the psychologic stress. METHODS: The data was obtained from il7 endometriosis patients. Psychological stress was studied with STAI(Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory) and BDI(Beck Depression Inventory). We compared the degree of anxiety and depression according to existence of pain and the duration of pain. Also we examed the scores of STAI and BDI according to the level of serum CA-125. RESULTS: The pain group had more depression and anxiety, in comparison to the pain-free group. And the depression and anxiety significantly increased in long-term pain group. There was no correlation between the level of serum CA-125 and the depression,or axiety. CONCLUSION: The pain of endometriosis may play a role of pychological stress to the patients, so it seems to increase depression and anxiety.

Korean Journal of Clinical Pathology 1999;19(3):326-328
Flavimonas oryzihabitans is a gram-negative, glucose non-fermentative bacillus, and is rarely reported as a pathogen in human. In recent years, reports of infection due to F. oryzihabitans, especially in immunocompromised patients with indwelling catheter or peritoneal Tenckhoff catheter have increased. We report two cases of F. oryzihabitans peritonitis in patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).

Korean Circulation Journal 1981;11(2):11-22
The clinical study was performed to 28 patients with the pericardiac effusion who were admitted in Busan university Hospital and Paik Hospital, In-Je Medical College, Busan, korea during March 1976 and July 1981. The results were as following; 1) 12 cases(42.9%) of total 28 pericardiac effusion occured in 3rd decade, 8(28.5%) in 2nd decade and 5 cases(17.9%) in 4th decade. Sex distribution showed male to female 2.5:1. 2) With etiological distribution there were 15 cases(53.6%) tuberculous, 5(17.9%) nonspecific, 3(10.7%) malignant, 2(7.1%) pyogenic, 2 traumatic and 1(3.6%) rheumatic. 3) On admission 28 cases(100%) complained of dyspnea, 24(85.7%) distant heart sound, 20(71.4%) each engorged jugular vein and edema, 18(64.3%) each cough and abdominal fullness, 17(60.7%) each sputum and chest discomfort and pain, 12(42.9%) fever, 11(39.1%) orthopnea, 10(35.7%) chilling, 7(25%) oliguria, 4(14.6%) palpitation and 3(17.2%) headache.
