PURPOSE: Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP) application is increasing with sinus inlay bone graft, but there is few research with radiographic ananlysis on effect of PRP in maxillary sinus. The author investigated the amount of bony changes of maxillary sinus for dental implantation among the patients with maxillary inlay graft. MATERIALS AND METHODS: With 10 patients who were treated with sinus inlay autologous bone grafting combined with PRP technique, and with 5 patients who were treated with sinus inlay grafting only without PRP, the panoramic radiographys which were taken at preoperation, immediate postoperation, 3months postoperation, and 4 months postoperation(a month after dental implantation)periods were analysed. The films had been scanned, and then proceeded throughout image analysis system. The bone density of maxillary grafted sites was compared with adjacent tooth enamel density and remeasured according to density luminosity of each film. The density changes on PRP group and bone graft only group were an lysed with non-parameteric statistics method. RESULTS: In PRP combined patients group, bone density on postoperation periods was increased totally. The remarkable enhanced change of bone density was observed on 3 months postoperation period, thereafter the increasing rate was slightly reduced . In only bone graft patients group, bone density on postoperation periods was also increased compared with preoperation period, but the bone density of 4 months postoperation period was decreased compared with 3 months postoperation period. The amount of bone density on PRP group was significantly changed according to periods in contrast to bone graft only group. CONCLUSION: The bone density on PRP group was remarkably increased at 3 months postoperation compared to bone graft only group and it was seemed to be associated with more new bone formation, less grafted bone resorption at bone grafted sites with PRP.

Cubitus varus deformity is the late complication of the supracondylar fracture of humerus which is common in growing children. If the deformity is severe it causes tunctional problems as well as cosmetic ones necessitating conective osteotomy. Though many authors devised different methods of corrective osteotomy, the cosmetic results are not always satisfactory because of the development of the lazy S deformity hy the lateral prominence. Technically. the initial stahility of the osteotomy is also poor due to the poor contact of the osteotomy site. So we have devised a new quadrilateral displacement osteotomy to increase the initial stability of the osteotomy by creating a wedge on the osteotomy site & also to prevent the development of the lazy S deformity hy elimination of the Interal prominence. We treated 9 cases of cubitus varus deformity with the new quadrilateral displacement osteotomy. The correction technique was not difficult & the initial stahility of the osteotomy is rather good & the osteotomy is fixed by the conventional methods, & all of the cases were healed uneventfully. There developed no the lazy & deformity after osteotomy. We would like to report the details ot the supracondylnrquadrilateral displacemenl osteotomy.

Sacrococcygeal teratoma is the most common solid tumor to occur in neonates, in whom it mostly takes the form of an obvious exophytic mass. They are, however, rarely found in adults. We report the CT and histopathologic findings of an adult cystic teratoma arising from the lower sacrococcygeal region that was discovered incidentally. Unenhanced CT scans showed an oval-shaped, cystic lesion with hyperattenuating content and no contrast enhancement. After surgery, the gross specimen was seen to be a cystic lesion filled with mucin. Microscopy revealed three germ cell layers in the cystic wall and the lesion was confirmed as cystic teratoma.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2000;42(3):505-507
Polyarteritis nodosa is a systemic inflammatory disease resulting from necrotizing angitis of small to medium sized arteries. It involves various organs, including the gastrointestinal tract, which is involved in about 50% of all cases. Numerous complications-including abdominal pain, vomiting, and hematemesis-have been reported, but the CT findings have not been described. We report the CT findings in a case of gastric polyarteritis nodosa, and correlate these with the histopathologic findings.

Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 2000;26(1):80-84
Tumors of the parotid gland are the most frequently encountered salivary gland tumors. Knowledge of the histology and anatomy of the salivary gland is important when considering the histiogenesis of salivary gland tumors, requiring close cooperation between the pathologist and the surgeon. Most tumors are benign epithelial formations. Pleomorphic adenomas predominate. Superficial lobectomy is adequate treatment. When the tumor involves a deep lobe, total parotidectomy is indicated. Treatment of malignant tumors depends on the histology, its TNM stage and other factors. Total parotidectomy with lymph adectomy and radiotherapy are needed in case of high grade malignancy. In children, vascular neoplasias are the most frequent, followed by malignant tumors. Their histological features and treatment are the same as for adults. We reviewed 64 cases of the parotid tumors at Department of surgery, Dong-A University Hospital from July. 1990 to Jan. 1999 for the purpose of apprehension of parotid gland tumor by the clinical study and review. Over all sex ratio was 1: 1.13 (M: F), mean age was 38.9 years, mean size was 3.53cm. According to histologic findings of 64 cases, pleomorphic adenoma was 55 (85.9%), Warthin's tumor was 3 (4.7%), mucoepidermoid carcinoma was 3 (4.7%), squamous cell carcinoma was 2 (3.1%), acinic cell carcinoma was 1 (1,6%). Post op. facial nerve palsy 16 (25%), Frey's syndrome 11 (17.2%) cases were happened. Hence, the clinical manifestation of pain, tenderness, facial N. palsy suggest malignant tumors.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2003;49(1):47-49
Malignant transformation of mature cystic teratoma is rare and the vast majority are squamous cell carcinoma, but neuroblastomas are extremely rare. We report a case of neuroblastoma arising in a mature cystic teratoma of the retroperitoneum. In a 24-year-old woman with intermittent abdominal pain, sonogram and CT scan show a multiloculated cystic mass with calcification, fat, septum, and small solid component in the left retroperitoneal space. Complete surgical resection of the cystic mass was done and a small neuroblastoma in the septum of the cystic mass was incidentally detected at histopathologic examination.

Journal of Korean Society of Spine Surgery 2016;23(3):183-187
STUDY DESIGN: A case report. OBJECTIVES: To report a rare case of atypical spinal tuberculosis. SUMMARY OF LITERATURE REVIEW: In spinal tuberculosis, non-contiguous multifocal involvement and isolated involvement of posterior elements of the spine have been considered atypical features. There have been a few reports of each of these atypical features but no reports have described spinal tuberculosis with both of these atypical features. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A 39-year-old man presented with back pain and progressive weakness of both lower extremities. He was diagnosed with spinal tuberculosis from the cervical to sacral spine, showing multifocal non-contiguous involvement with multiple abscesses on magnetic resonance imaging. Notably, in the thoracic spine area, isolated involvement of posterior elements was found with an epidural abscess compressing the spinal cord. He underwent a total laminectomy of the thoracic spine and multiple abscesses were drained with pigtail catheter insertions into the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. RESULTS: At the 8-month follow-up, the patient's neurologic status had improved to Frankel Grade D, and the patient was able to walk with the support of a walker. At the 3-year follow-up, the patient had recovered completely without any neurologic deficit. CONCLUSIONS: Since atypical spinal tuberculosis may show various patterns, examination of the entire spine is important for early diagnosis. Treatment should be provided properly from minimally invasive procedures to open surgery depending on the extent of structural instability and neurologic deficit.
