Entrapment syndrome of suprascapular nerve by a ganglion has been reported not frequently. We experienced a case of suprascapular nerve entrapment by ganglion which was treated with non-operative treatment, and report it with literature.

Lichen aureus is a variant of pigmented purpuric lichenoid dermatitis. The skin lesions usually appear asymptomatic rusty, copper, or orange colored roundish lichenoid erythematous-purpuric papules and patches on the lower extremities. Histologically, the epidermis shows minimal changes, with a dense lymphohistiocytic infiltrate observed in the superficial derrnis, typically distributed in a band-like fashion. The typical lesion is a single patch localized on the lower extremity. We report a rare case of segmental lichen aureus localized on the right lower extremity.

6.Nutrient Intakes and the Physical Activities of the Mentally Retarded Persons According to the Degree of Handicap Who Were Accommodated in Institutions in Andong Area.
Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2007;12(6):790-797
This study was conducted to evaluate the nutrient intakes and the physical activities of mentally retarded persons (MRPs) accommodated in welfare institutions. A total of 194 cases of MRPs (130 males and 64 females) were surveyed through interviews of the 35 caregivers of the institutions during the period from March 2 to 12, 2005. The mean age of the 2nd degree is the highest, and the duration of institution stay of the 2nd degree is the longest. There were no significant differences in height, weight, but there were still significant differences in BMI by the degree of handicap. The MRPs with the 1st degree handicap consumed less nutrients than the MRPs with 2nd or 3rd degree handicaps, except for vitamins C and E. The mean activity factor was 1.737 +/- 0.422 meaning 'active'. Among the comparative groups, the activity factor of the 2nd handicap degree MRPs was the highest. Note that the percentage of protein is the lowest in the case of the 1st degree handicap. The intake of the folic acid, in particular, was less than the Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) in case of all the MRPs while that of vitamin C, riboflavin and calcium was less than the EAR in case of 65~80% of the MRPs. MRPs with higher activity factors showed higher intakes of most nutrients except vitamin C. MRPs with higher marks in the 'balanced dietary habit' field showed more nutrient intakes. More consumption of vegetables and fruits by the MRPs was recommended. Also, more efficient dietary guidance was recommended for the MRPs.

A 5-month-old male infantshowed greasy sealy papules on the scalp, dirty scaly papules on the trunk and scaly petechial papules on both the palms and soles since birth. When admitted to the hospital, the patient exhibited lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, abdominal distension, mild fever and skin eruption. The biopsy specimens from the skin and lymph node showed an infiltrate composed almost entirely of histiocytic cells with irregularly shaped nuclei and abundant, well demarcated cytoplasm. The histiocytic cells of the infiltrate were proved as Langerhans cells by electron microscopic examination and S-100 protein study. He was treated with methotrexate 30mg/m twice a week and prednisolone 40mg/m daily. Initially skin lesions and general condition were improved, but the patient expired. due to septicemia after 3 months.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(3):371-375
Although a number of remedies like corticosteroids, retinoids, griseofulvin, PUVA, cyclosporine, antibiotics, dapsone, cyclophosphamide, surgery, methotrexate, radiation therapy, antimalarial drugs, psychotharapy and psychiatric medications have been used to treat lichen planus, there were no specific methods until now. We report herein an interesting case of lichen planus in which complete healing was achieved by griseofulvin administration. The patient was a 54-year-old male who for 3 months had variouly sized and shaped, flat-topped, scaly, violaceous papules and plaques on the whole of his body. We confirmed the patients disease as lichen planus by a histopathologic examination of a skin biopsy specimen and gave him 500mg ultramicronized griseofulvin daily in divided dosages. After 12 weeks of the medication nearly all of the skin lesions were regressed, and by 14 weeks all skin lesions had disappeared leaving hyperpigmentation. Up to now, l9 months after discontinuation of the medication, no recurrence of the disease has been noted.

PURPOSE: To investigate the role of porous polyethylene sheet in preventing the recurrence of ptosis after frontalis sling with Prolene(R) and the safety of porous polyethylene sheet. METHODS: Prolene(R) was placed subcutaneously in the thigh of white rabbits. In one group, Prolene(R) was placed with porous polyethylene sheet (treated group) and in the other group, Prolene(R) was placed without porous polyethylene sheet (control group). Prolene(R) was tightened and the loosening of the skin was evaluated at 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks postoperatively. At the same time, the occurence of complications such as infection, granuloma formation was observed. Histologic examination was done at 2, 4 and 8 weeks postoperatively. RESULTS: In the treated group, skin loosening was progressed significantly for 2 weeks (p<0.05, Mann-Whitney U test) but thereafter there was no significant progression. In control group, skin loosening was progressed for 8 weeks (p<0.05, Mann-Whitney U test). Skin loosening was more severe in the control group at each follow-up evaluation (p<0.05, Wilcoxon signed ranks test). No complication was observed during the follow-up period of 8 weeks. On histologic examination, inflammatory reaction and fibrosis ere seen around Prolene(R) in the control group and fibrovascular ingrowth into the pores of porous polyethylene sheet was seen in the treated group. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that porous polyethylene sheet can be safely used to prevent the slippage of Prolene(R) and the use of porous polyethylene sheet will be helpful in preventing the recurrence of ptosis after frontalis sling with Prolene(R).
