Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2003;48(2):121-125
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate US and CT features of choroidal osteoma. MATERIALS AND METHDOS: US and CT scans of seven cases of choroidal osteoma occurring in six patients were retrospectively analyzed. We analysed US and CT findings with particular attention to the location, size, and shape of calcification associated with choroidal osteoma, and sought the possible cause of the tumor, if any. RESULTS: None of six patients had any possible cause related to choroidal osteoma. All of seven cases of choroidal osteoma were manifested as calcified mass which were located in the posterior wall of the eyeball near the juxtapapillary region. Calcification ranged in size from 1 to 2 cm and had curvilinear shape. Both US and CT were equally useful to evaluate choroidal osteoma. CONCLUSION: By depicting the characteristic calcification, US and CT are useful imaging modalities in evaluating choroidal osteoma.

Annals of Dermatology 2003;15(2):71-74
A 43-year-old woman presented with numerous cutaneous neurofibromas, limited to the left anterior chest(T2-3) and the right lower back(L1-2). These had been present for 10 years. Neither cafe-au-lait spot, intertriginous freckle, nor Lisch nodule was found. The family history was negative for neurofibromatosis. Biopsy specimens showed circumscribed, nonencapsulated neurofibromas. The present case was a rare form of bilateral segmental neurofibromatosis in that while most of the reported cases involved the same dermatome bilaterally, she had bilaterally different dermatomal neurofibromas.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 2011;52(4):407-413
PURPOSE: To study theeffect of micro incision (1.8 mm) and small incision (2.2 mm and 2.8 mm) coaxial phacoemulsification on surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) and high-order aberrations (HOA) of anterior and posterior corneal surface. METHODS: The present randomized clinical study included 32 eyes having a 1.8-mm, 38 eyes having a 2.2-mm, and 30 eyes having a 2.8-mm corneal incision. SIAs were measured at 1 and 3 months postoperatively. HOAs included coma, trefoil, and spherical aberration. The coma-root mean square (RMS) and trefoil-RMS were evaluated at 1 month after the cataract operation. RESULTS: Surgically induced astigmatisms were 0.41 +/- 0.30 diopter (D) in the 1.8-mm incision group, 0.47 +/- 0.21 D in 2.2-mm group and 0.71 +/- 0.50 D in the 2.8-mm group. The SIA of the 1.8-mm group was smaller than the other groups (p = 0.002). There was no statistically significant difference in coma, spherical aberration of the corneal anterior surface and trefoil, or spherical aberration of the posterior surface among the 3 groups at 1 month after surgery. CONCLUSIONS: Incision size contributes to postoperative corneal astigmatism. Phacoemulsification cataract surgery with less than 2.8-mm incision does not significantly influence the corneal aberrationsof anterior and posterior corneal surfaces.

Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 2003;29(3):173-181
PURPOSE: This study was intended to evaluate the positional relationship between the hyoid bone and the mandible in patients with mandibular protrusion after mandibular set-back surgery by means of 3D-CT. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Preoperative(3 weeks before) and postoperative (6 weeks after) 3D-CT and cephalogram were taken on 32 patients(12 male, 20 female, mean age of 23.2) treated by bilateral sagittal split osteotomy with rigid fixation. The angular measurement on 3D-CT basilar view were deviation of Me and H, long axis angle of left and right cornu majus. The lineal measurement on 3D-CT basilar view were composed of intercondylar line and coordinates(x,y) of Me and H. The angular and lineal measurement of lateral cephalogram were composed of mandibular plane angle, SNA, SNB, ANB, FH-NA and FH-NB, and coordinates(x,y) of B, Pog, Me and H, PAS, Lpw, MPH and IAS. On the frontal cephalogram, deviation of Me were evaluated. RESULTS: The mean mandibular set-back was 8.0mm horizontally and mandibular plane angle was slightly increased. The hyoid bone was displaced postero-inferiorly, the distance between MP(mandibular plane) and H(hyoid bone) was increased and the posterior airway space values (PAS, Lpw, IAS) were decreased. The coordinates Me(x,y), H(x,y) and deviation angle Me' and H'were revealed the strong positive correlation. CONCLUSION: The results revealed that the horizontal, vertical and transverse relationship of the mandibular and the hyoid bone movements were significantly correlated in patients performed mandibular set-back surgery.

9.Tracheobronchopathia Osteochondroplastica detected during Difficult EndotrachealIntubation : A case report.
Anesthesia and Pain Medicine 2007;2(2):102-105
Tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica is a rare and usually benign disorder characterized by cartilaginous and/or osseous submucosal nodules projecting into the laryngotracheobronchial lumen. It has been an incidental finding at autopsy but nowadays it is discovered during fiberoptic bronchoscopy or chest computed tomography. We describe a case of 61-year-old man who was diagnosed to have tracheobronchopathia osteochondroplastica due to unpredicted difficult intubation.

10.The development and evaluation of curriculum for developing physician’s competencies in public health
Sang Hyun KIM ; Jeong Hun PARK
Journal of Agricultural Medicine & Community Health 2020;45(4):194-207
Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the curriculum, that was the continuing professional development program, for cultivating physician’s competencies in public health.
Methods:
This study was conducted through in-depth interview and survey in the frame of ADDIE, from 2 May to 30 June in 2019. Participants were 7 physicians by in-depth interview and Respondents were 46 physicians worked in public health by survey.
Results:
The results were analyzed and described in the frame of ADDIE model. In the stage of Analysis, physician’s core competencies in public health was presented to practical education, management of organization and labor force, communication with community, and director’ role of public health center in the community as core competencies by in-depth interview. The skill–knowledge-attitude competencies were highest in order in the survey for placing priority (by Borich score) of 29 core competencies. In design stage, the educational objective of curriculum was established, that is to develop the competencies of knowledge, skills, and attitude needed for physician of public health in 21th century. In development and implementation stage, it is important to decide to lecturer, to get in advance educational materials to do the maintenance and management of curriculum. In the stage of evaluation, the educational satisfaction was high on the whole and educational effect was statistically significant.
Conclusions
This study was an initial study of Korean doctors, and it aims to pursue competency-based education as a continuing professional development (CPD) beyond continuing medical education (CME) including knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
