Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(5):606-612
In order to study immunological responses in psoriatic lesions, direct immunofluorescence(DIF) findings in stratum corneum of psoriatic lesions are compared with histopathological changes. The results are summerized as follows: 1) Deposition of Igs or C 3 in stratum corneum of psoriatic lesions was demonstrated in 14(56%) of 25 psoriasis patients. IgG was present in 40% IgA in 48%, IgM in 24%, and C 3 in 32%. However, DIF findings are negative in the str, atum corneum in the uninvolved skin of psoriasiis. In control groups of 12 cases of various skin diseases, DIF findings were negative in the stratum corneum except 1 case of a patient with acne rosacea. 2)DIF findings in 22 cases of histopathologic changes of psoriatic lesions were found in 50% of hyperkeratosis in 48% of parakeratosis in 50% of Munro microabscess, in 50%, of spongiform pustule, and in 57% of the absence of stratum granulosum: ie, about only 50% were positive in DIF results. Histopathologic changes in 11 cases of positive DIF finding in psoriatic lesions were hyperkeratosis in 100%, parakeratosis in 91%, Munro microabscess in 64%, spongiform pustule in 55%, and the absence of stratum granulosum in 73%.

Osteoarthritic changes in experimental animals has been induced by several different methods. In order to study the changes of the articular cartilage induced by injuries of ligaments and/or meniscus of the knee joints, the author performed the experimental study that section of the medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments (group I) and section of the medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments combined with excision of the medial meniscus (group II) in twenty adult rabbit's knees caused instability. Histological changes of the articular cartilage were observed up to four months. The results were as follows: 1. The changes of the articular cartilage were gradually advanced depend on the time lapse after experimental procedures, in group I and ll. 2. The changes of the articular cartilage could be noticed from eighth week after experimental procedures in group I and from fourth week in group II, and more severe at sixteenth in group I and at twelfth week in group II. 3. The changes of the articular cartilage in group ll were appeared earlier and more severe than in group l. 4. The changes of the articular cartilage in the medial side of the knee joint were noticed more severe than in the lateral side.

Malignant lymphoma of the bone is a rare, but involves the shaft or metaphysis of the bone, producing destruction, frequently pelvis, spine, skull and femur. Most of the patients are over thirty years old and equal sex distribution. The authors experienced one case of lymphoma involving the left ilium.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1986;21(5):791-798
For the management of adult dysplastic hips with early degenerative arthritis, we can prevent further progress of secondary degenerative changes of the hip by a Rotational Acetabular Osteotomy, which effectively corrects the preoperatively inadequate acetabular coverage of the femoral head. Biomechanical advantages of this procedure are, l. An adequate coverage of tl; femoral head then enlarges the actual weight-bearing surface area, and so diminishes the resultant force per unit area of the acetabular weight-bearing surface and femoral head. 2. The resultant forces are also diminished by a medial shift of the femoral head. 3. The shearing force is decreased by the reduction of roof obliquity. 4. Because of the rotation of the original articular surface, remodeling the post-operative acetabular articular surface as Chiari operation is not necessary, and so can be performed even on elderly patients.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1989;24(5):1503-1506
The Congenital Ulnar Drift of the fingers is a relatively uncommon and has symmetrical malformations of hand, face and foot characterized by MP joint flexion contracture and ulnarward deviation of the fingers and microstomia, In tarsal deformity, there are clubfoot and congenital vertical talus with rocker bottom deformity. In treatment, the report of the surgical treatment was rare. We experienced congenital ulnar drift of fingers in 2 patients in one family, which were treated by dome resection corrective osteotomy of the metacarpals. Therefore remarkable symptomatic improvement was obtained.
