1.Research on Leweiyin Intervening SP and VIP of Rats with Functional Dyspepsia
Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2006;0(02):-
[Objective]To disclose the mechanism of Leweiyin treating functional dyspepsia(FD) through experimental research. [Methods]Wistar rats are randomly divided into 7 groups: normal control, natural recovery, Madinlin, Shenling Baizhu pill, low dosage of Leweiyin, mediate dosage of Leweiyin, high dosage of Leweiyin, 6 in each group. Respectively administer to them with distilled water, Madinlin, Shenling Baizhu pill liquid, low, mediate and high dosage of Leweiyin at 2ml/100g, once every day, successively administer for 14 days one day after self model-making. Observe the gastric mucosa, measure gastro-intestinal hormones SP and VIP. [Results] Leweiyin can effectively increase SP and decrease VIP in experimental rats gastric antrum. [Conclusion] Leweiyin can increase gastro-intestinal tract excitement, regulate the contractility of gastro-intestinal smooth muscle, which may be the main mechanism for Leweiyin to treat FD.

Objective To estimate the life expectancy of persons with physical disabilities in China based on data related to representative national disability. Methods Life table technique was used to estimate the life expectancy and its standard error by various characteristics on the basis of average mortality rates from the monitoring cases during 2007-2010.Results (1)Females were expected to live longer than males. The life expectancy at birth for females was 63 years with standard error(SE)=2.6 while for males it was 55 years(SE=3.1).(2)Persons aged 35-50 in urban areas had higher life expectancy than those in rural areas.(3)Life expectancy of persons with mild disability [62.5 years(SE=2.4)] was higher than that of persons with severe disability[42 years(SE=5.4)].(4)Life expectancies of persons with physical disability were much lower than that of the Chinese general population.Gaps of male and female life expectancy at birth were 17.1 years and 12.7 years, respectively. Conclusion Persons with physical disability had higher mortality and actions should be taken to improve their life expectancy, accordingly.

Objective To observe the efficiency of immunotherapy on allergic rhinitis and explore irs correla- tive factors. Methods 185 patients with AR were treated with immunotherapy in this department between 1993 and 2003.Specific allergens were selected through skin test. The patients were given subcutaneous injections with al- lergen extract produced by Xiehe Hospital. The doses were gradually increased to the maintenance dose. The clinical effectiveness evaluation based on the symptoms and signs before and after immunotherapy was judged as marked, moderated and poor response. The possihie factors which affected the efficacy of immunotherapy were selected. These factors included sex, age, illness duration, disease condition, chronic sinusitis, asthma, duration of immunotherapy and reaction condition of the skin test. The correlative factors with efficacy were sifted with multifactorial stepwise re- gression analysis. Results The marked, moderated and poor responses were 22.9 %,51.7 %,and 25.4 % respective- ly.The efficacy of immunotherapy correlated well with the duration of immunotherapy(P

ObjectiveTo explore the value of simvastatin in improving endothelial function in the patients with acute coronary syndromes in shorter time.Methods60 patients with acute coronary syndrome(acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina/non-ST elevation myocardial infarction) were randomized to be treated with placebo(n=30) or simvastatin 20 mg daily(n=30) for 3~5 d.At the admission and endpoint,Brachial ultrasound was used to measure endothelium-dependent flow-mediated dilatation(FMD) and response to endothelium-independent nitroglycerin. ResultsFMD was unchanged with placebo, but increased with simvasatin,from(2.65±2.95)% to(4.19±2.59)%(P=0.027).Responses to nitroglycerin were similar during the time course of the study in the 2 groups. The improvement of FMD was not correlated with the level of TC(R2=0.081,P=0.37),LDL-C(R2=0.056,P=0.46) or HDL-C(R2=0.073,P=0.40).ConclusionSimvastatin initiated early after acute coronary syndromes rapidly improves endothelial function in short course. No correlation has been detected between the pharmacological effects of simvastatin with the fall in TC and LDL-C.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects and mechanisms of diethylhexylphthalate (DEHP) on morphology and function of progenitor Leydig cells (PLC) in rats.
METHODSTwenty pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups ( n = 5): normal control group, DEHP low dose group , middle dose group, and high dose group, which were treated from postnatal day (PND) 1 to PND 21 of the pubs with DEHP at the doses of 0, 10, 100, 750 mg/(kg · d) in 0.5 ml of corn oil by gavage respectively. At the end of the treatment, the male pups were killed and blood samples were collected for determination of serum testosterone concentration by chemiluminescence method. The body weight, testis weight and anogenital distance (AGD) were measured. The morphology of PLC was observed by light and transmission electron microscopy. The protein expression of steroidogenic acute regulatory protein(StAR) in PLC was determined by immunohistochemistry. The mRNA expression of insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) in the testis was assayed by real-time PCR.
RESULTSCompared with normal control group, the serum testosterone and AGD of male pubs from the middle and high dose groups were declined significantly (P < 0.01), the testis weight and body weight from high dose group were decreased significantly (P < 0.01), while the testis weight increased in the low dose group (P < 0.05). Under light microscope, PLC showed hyperplasia and cluster aggregation in the low dose group and focal hyperplasia in the middle and high dose group. The spermatogenic cells in seminiferous tubules showed decrease, apoptosis and unfix in the high dose group. Under transmission electron microscope, the PLC showed decreased lipid droplets, smooth endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondriae in the treated group. The mRNA expression of IGF-I increased in the low dose group, and the protein expression of StAR decreased in the middle and high dose group.
CONCLUSIONLactating exposure to DEHP may interfere with the synthesis of testosterone of PLC in male pubs, the decrease of StAR and the damage of PLC may be involved in it.
