OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of orotate phosphoribosyltransferase (OPRT) in colorectal carcinoma and analyze its correlations with the toxicities of chemotherapy.

METHODSThe expression of OPRT mRNA was detected using RT-PCR in colorectal carcinoma tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues from 58 patients receiving FOLFOX6 regimen chemotherapy. The toxicities of the chemotherapy were recorded, and the correlations between OPRT mRNA expression and the toxicities were analyzed.

RESULTSOPRT mRNA expression was significantly higher in the tumor tissues than in the corresponding normal tissues (P=0.001), but OPRT expression in the tumor tissues was not correlated with the toxicities of the chemotherapy (P>0.05). OPRT level in the normal tissues showed a significant positive correlation with the occurrence of diarrhea in these cases (P=0.013).

CONCLUSIONOPRT expression in colorectal carcinoma tissues is not correlated with the toxicities of 5-FU-based regimen, but OPRT expression in the normal tissues can help predict the toxicities associated with 5-FU.

Objective:To understand the driving factors of postpartum health promotion behaviors in pregnant women with gestational diabetes.Methods:From September to October 2019, the purpose of the sampling method was to select 14 cases of gestational diabetic gynaecologists who visited the outpatient department of diabetes care in our hospital as the research subjects. The phenomenological research method was used to conduct a semi-structured interview. Colaizzi′s 7-step analysis method was used to organize and analyze the data to refine the subject.Results:The driving force of postpartum health promotion behaviors of gestational diabetes mothers mainly came from the internal driving force and the external driving force. The internal driving force was mainly the uncertainty of gestational diabetes, the solution of the problem improves self-worth, and the post-traumatic growth made patients re-understand life. The external driving force was mainly family support, full mobilization of subjective initiative, quantitative diet intake and building of a healthy lifestyle.Conclusions:The driving factors for postpartum health promotion of gestational diabetic women are complex and diverse. Medical staff should timely grasp the post-natal health promotion status of gestational diabetic women, and promote their self-support and social support.

Objective To investigate the reliability and validity of the medical outcomes by applying short form-36 (SF-36) in evaluating gout patients’ health related quality of life (HRQOL).Methods Gout patientswere enrolled between March 2016 and June 2016 in Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Patients completed the SF-36 questionnaire.Summary scores,physical component summary (PCS) and mental component summary (MCS) were calculated by summing factor-weighted scores across all 8 subscales,with factor weights derived from general population.The indicators of reliability and validity included internal consistency,test-retest reliability,structural and discriminant validity,ceiling and floor effect.Results Totally 306 patients were enrolled.The internal consistency test showed that the Cronbach α coefficients ranged from 0.782 to 0.822,and the test-retest reliability coefficients ranged from 0.720 to 0.986 (P＜0.01).Structural validity analysis showed that there were two items whose eigenvalues were greater than one with the cumulative contribution rate of 66.1％.The discriminant validity analysis found that patients with more numbers of tophi,higher frequency of flare,multi-arthrosis involved and more complications had less scores of PCS and MCS (P＜0.05).There was a high ceiling effect on physiological function and a higher ceiling and floor effect on role limitation and emotional function caused hy impaired physical health.Conclusion The SF-36 can be used for the assessment of HRQOL in Chinese gout patients but disease specific questionnaire are warranted.
