2.Research progress of acupuncture for cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in recent 10 years.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(7):749-752
By searching relevant data from the PubMed database, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database and Wanfang database, a comprehensive analysis and review regarding acupuncture for cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury (CIRI) in recent 10 years were performed. The results showed that acupuncture could inhibit the inflammatory reaction, reduce oxidative stress injury, restrain brain edema formation, inhibit apoptosis, promote neural and vascular regeneration, etc. Acupuncture methods used included electroacupuncture, scalp acupuncture, eye acupuncture and "consciousness-restoring resuscitation needling", etc. The existing problem was that the intervention action of acupuncture was mainly focused on inhibiting inflammatory reaction and oxidative stress injury, and the study on apoptosis and neural and vascular regeneration was needed. It is suggested that from the aspect of multiple target points, the intervention mechanism of acupuncture for CIRI should be systemically studied in the future, which could provide new idea for clinical diagnosis and treatment on ischemic cerebrovascular diseases.

3. The effects of EIF4E gene down-regulation induced by siRNA on the proliferation and cell cycle of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231
Tumor 2011;31(3):197-202
Objective: To study the effect of down-regulation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (EIF 4E ) induced by the siRNA expression plasmid on the proliferation and cell cycle of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. Methods: The siRNA expression plasmid pGPU6/GFP/Neo-EIF4E was constructed and then transfected into breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells by LipofectAMINE2000. The expressions of EIF4E and cyclin D1 mRNAs and proteins were examined by RT-PCR, Western blotting and the immunocytochemistry method, respectively. The MTT method, plate colony formation assay and flow cytometry were performed to detect the proliferation ability, cell colony formation rate and cell cycle distribution of MDA-MB-231 cells transfected with siRNA expression plasmid. Results: The siRNA expression plasmid pGPU6/GFP/Neo-EIF4E was constructed successfully. The expressions of EIF4E and cyclin D1 mRNAs and proteins were all decreased markedly after transfection with pGPU6/GFP/Neo-EIF4E (P <0.05). The growth of MDA-MB-231 cells in the pGPU6/GFP/Neo-EIF4E-tranfected group was inhibited and the cell colony formation rate was statistically decreased (P<0.05) as compared with those in the blank control and the pGPU6/GFP-transfected groups. The result of flow cytometry showed that the percentage of cells in G1 phase in the pGPU6/GFP/Neo-EIF4E-tranfected group was higher than that in the blank control group (71.30%±0.47% vs 53.10%±0.43%); however, the percentage of cells in S phase was signifcantly lower (12.53%±0.13% vs 26.47%±0.38%, P <0.05). Conclusion: EIF 4E siRNA can downregulate EIF 4E gene expression in human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells, suppress cell proliferation to some extent, and increase the number of cells in G1 phase with a decreased number of cells in S phase. EIF 4E gene may become one of the important molecular targets to breast cancer. Copyright© 2011 by the Editorial Board of Tumor.
4.Analysis of clinical effect of periodontic treatment in type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2015;(9):842-844
Objective To explore the clinical effect of periodontic treatment in type 2 diabetic patients (T2DM ) with chronic periodontitis on basis of hypoglycemic therapy. Methods From September 2011 to January 2014 ,120 T2DM patients with chronic periodontitis were selected and divided into treatment group and control group with 60 cases in each group. Patients in control group were treated with conventional hypoglycemic therapy. Patients in treatment group were treated with initial periodontal therapy additionally on basis of conventional hypoglycemic therapy. Probing depth (PD) ,attachment loss (AL) ,plaque index (PLI) ,bleeding index (BI) and hypersensitive C reactive protein (hsC‐RP) levels were compared before and after 6 weeks treatment. Results PD ,AL ,PLI ,BI ,and hsC‐RP levels had no significant difference between two groups before treatment (P>0.05). PD ,AL ,PLI ,BI and hsC‐RP levels after treatment in treatment group were all significantly decreased [PD :(2.11 ± 0.28) vs (2.51 ± 0.68) and (2.42 ± 0.31) mm ;AL :(3.18 ± 0.41) vs (3.58 ± 0.83) and (3.49 ± 0.58) mm ;PLI:(0.41 ± 0.21) vs (0.96 ± 0.33) and (0.78 ± 0.26);BI:(0.97 ± 0.32) vs (2.65 ± 1.21) and (1.14 ± 0.30);hsC‐RP :(1.02 ± 0.63) vs (3.29 ± 2.88) and (2.72 ± 1.51) mg/L] as compared with those before treatment in treatment group and those after treatment in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Levels of inflammatory factors will decrease when periodontic treatment is added to the antidiabetic therapy in T 2DM patients with chronic periodontitis.
5.Autoimmune hypophysitis
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2015;31(11):1008-1012
Autoimmune hypophysitis is an inflammation of the pituitary gland resulting from autoimmune response, which can be classified as primary hypophysitis and secondary hypophysitis according to the etiology. The clinical presentation includes hypopituitarism and a pituitary mass. The diagnosis is based on clinical findings and radiology, while the pathology serves as the golden standard. The treatment is aimed at reducing the size of the pituitary mass, replacing the defective hormones and decreasing hyperprolactinemia. This review is about the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of lymphocytic hypophysitis, hypophysitis secondary to cytotoxic T-4 blockade, and IgG4-related hypophysitis.
6.Effects of maternal obesity on the offspring
Tianjin Medical Journal 2016;44(1):124-126
The prevalence of maternal obesity has risen dramatically in recent years. Maternal obesity increases the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, and can lead to chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, the change of cell factor homeostasis. The metabolic status of maternal obesity in the pre-pregnancy and pregnancy can alter the level of DNA methylation in the placenta, change the fetal programming, influence the pregnancy outcomes, and increase the risk of obesity related metabolic syndrome and other chronic diseases of offspring. Actively preventing and intervening in the maternal obesity can reduce the adverse pregnancy outcomes and increase the survival quality of the offspring.
7.Therapeutic Observation of Electroacupuncture with Different Wave Patterns for Mild Cognitive Disorder After Ischemic Stroke
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2014;(12):1114-1116
ObjectiveTo observe the efficacy of electroacupuncture with different wave patterns, sparse wave, intense wave, and sparse-intense wave, on the therapeutic efficacy in treating mild cognitive disorder after ischemic stroke.MethodSixty eligible patients were randomized into a sparse wave group, an intense wave group, and a sparse-intense wave group, 20 in each group. The three groups were given electroacupuncture at Baihui (GV20) and Shenting (GV24) in addition to the basic acupuncture treatment. The Mini-mental State Examination (MMSE) and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) were adopted for evaluation before and after the intervention by the same practitioner.ResultThe total effective rate was 55.0% in the sparse wave group, 65.0% in the intense wave group, and 90.0% in the sparse-intense wave group, and thedifferenceswere statistically significant among the three groups (P<0.05); afterintervention, the MMSE score increased significantly and ADL score decreased significantly in the three groups (P<0.01), and the inter-group differences were statistically significant after intervention(P<0.01).ConclusionElectroacupuncture with sparse wave, intense wave, or sparse-intense wave all can improve mild cognitive disorder, while the general therapeutic efficacy of sparse-intense wave is higher than sparse wave and intense wave.
8.Aesthetic surgical treatment for middle and older patients with sunken upper eye lids
Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To treat the sunken upper eyelids in the midd le and older patients with a modified procedure so as to improve esthetic appeara nce of the patients. Methods Autolipoparticles collected from patients' abdomen were injected into the sunken upper eyelids beneath the o rbital septum. 3ml of the lipoparticles were injected for each upper eyelid as u sual. The blepharoplasty was also performed for most of the patients with lower eyelids bag before or during the operation. Results The decrepit phenomena of eyes in all the patients were improved by the operations. Owing to the phenomena that the sunken upper eyelids were associated with the fa t bags of lower eyelid in most patients, it was inferable that the sunken upper eyelids were probably caused by the tissues ptosis in the orbit. Con clusions The sunken upper eyelids associated with fat bags of lower eyelids are the decrepit phenomena of eyes in middle age and old people. The sun ken upper eyelids can be corrected by the method of autolipoparticle injection. After the operation the appearance of patients' eyes is obviously improved. The method is easily performed and its curative effect is reliable.
