4.The effect of posterior vitreous detachment on the prognosis of branch retinal vein occlusion
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2001;17(1):2-4
Objective To determine the effect of posterior vitreous detachment on the prognosis of branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Methods One hundred and sixteen patients (116 eyes) with BRVO who underwent vitreous examination were retrospectively studied. The relationship of vitreous conditions to posterior segment neovascularization and macular edema was statistically investigated. Results In 40 ischemic cases,12 of 25 eyes (48.0%) with no posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) or partial PVD developed retinal or optic disc neovascularization ,or both, but only one of the 15 eyes (6.7%) with complete PVD developed neovascularization during a mean follow-up period of 10.7±2.2 months (P<0.05).Diffuse macular edema was found in 45 eyes (38.8%).The incidence of macular edema was significantly higher in eyes with vitreomacular attachment (51.5%) than in those with vitreomacular separation (22.0%)(P<0.01). Conclusion It was suggested that complete PVD may play a role in protecting eyes with BRVO from posterior segment neovascularization and macular edema.

Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2017;37(4):252-254
Objective To investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine on tonsillectomy in children with sevoflurane combined with anesthesia recovery period of restless. Methods A total of 62 patients with tonsillectomy under general anesthesia from 2011 to 2015 in our hospital werecollected and randomly divided into the control group and the experiment group with 31 cases in each. Two groups of children were treated by 7%sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia induction, supplemented by a small amount of intravenous anesthetics propofol 2 mg/kg,sufentanil 2 μg/kg,CIS atracurium 150 μg/kg intravenous injection.Patients in the experiment group were treated by dexmedetomidine 0.2 μg/(kg·h)continuous intravenous infusion until the end of the operation, patients in the control group were treated by normal saline intravenous infusion.Compared the systolic blood pressure and heart rate of the 2 groups of before anesthesia induction, after anesthesia induction, after operation 5min,the end of the operation ; occurred rate of restless at after anesthesia extubation 5minutes,10minutes,15minutes,20minutes,25minutes.Results Compared with the control group, the systolic blood pressure and heart rate of the experiment group without statistical significance before anesthesia induction; after anesthesia induction, after operation,5min,at the end of operation, the systolic blood pressure and heart rate were lower(P<0.05); children recovery time, extubation time, recovery time of delivery from the anesthesia room were shorter(P<0.05); occurred rate of restless were lower after anesthesia extubation 5minutes,10minutes,15minutes,20minutes,25minutes(P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine can prevent tonsillectomy after sevoflurane anesthesia result in the recovery period of restless.
6.Senescence is a defensive mechasim against oncogene-induced tumorigenesis
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(05):-
Cellular senescence is a permanent cell cycle arrest that may prevent the aged or abnormal cells from further expansion and is therefore a safeguard mechanism against unlimited cell proliferation.Recent studies demonstrated that oncogene-induced senescence could prevent neoplastic transformation in vitro and in vivo, and oncogene might cause tumors only in senescence deficient cells.Although the mechanism of the cellular senescence has not been completely illustrated, activation of P16INK4a-RB and ARF-P53 pathways has been implicated in this process.Further investigation of the signaling pathways leading to senescence may offer new avenues for tumor treatment.
7.Identification of the Images of Chinese Herb Slices with Deep Convolutional Network
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;19(2):218-222
It is of great importance that deep learning of computer for the automate identification of the two-dimensional image of Chinese herbal slices is valuable in the application to medicine, production and education.Traditional methods usually extract low-level image features for the identification, but they cannot give robust recognition results under complex backgrounds. Therefore, higher level image representation is necessary in the image identification.A public Chinese herbal medicine database was constructed with 50 common categories and 2,554 images in total, for training and evaluating our recognition model. Then, the sofimax loss function was adopted to train the convolutional neural network model. As a result, the convolutional neural network can achieve the average precision of 70% under all the 50 medicine herbal classes. In conclusion, convolutional neural network can obtain good results in image identification with complex backgrounds and mutually occluded herbal slices, which has promising potential for future applications.

9.Effects of caffeine on cerebral cortical activity in preterm infants
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2017;35(6):435-440
Objective To investigate the effects of caffeine on cerebral cortical activity in preterm infants. Methods The preterm infants with 28-34 week gestational age and without asphyxia at birth were recruited as the subjects from January to September 2016. The infants who received conventional caffeine citrate were assigned to the caffeine group, while the infants with the same postmenstrual age did not receive any drugs that excite respiratory center were assigned to the control group. In the caffeine group, after the use of caffeine citrate stopped, the amplitude integration electroencephalogram (aEEG) recording were performed at 33, 34, 35 weeks of postmenstrual age. All the aEEG recordings were continuously monitored for at least 4 hours. The aEEG images were assessed by Burdjalov scoring system, and the interburst intervals were calculated. The effects of caffeine on preterm infants' cerebral cortical activity in early life were analyzed. Results In a total of 49 preterm infants recruited, 21 were in caffeine group and 28 in control group, and the ratio of male and female was 1.45:1. At the same postmenstrual age, the total score and individual scores of aEEG assessed by Burdjalov scoring system were not significantly different between caffeine group and control group. However, the length of interburst interval was significantly shorter in caffeine group than that in control group (P<0.05). All the recruited preterm infants had no seizure-like activity when the aEEG was monitored. Conclusion The use of caffeine citrate has effects on EEG activity in early life of preterm infants, which may accelerate the brain maturation of preterm infants
