A novel method was proposed for the quantification of nitrite ion in aqueous samples by the combination of an advanced quantitative fluorescence model with ratiometric fluorescence indicator 2 , 3-diaminonaphthalene . The proposed method was tentatively applied to direct quantitative determination of nitrite ion in turbid environmental water samples containing both scatterers and absorbers; and its performance was thoroughly investigated and evaluated. Experimental results showed that the proposed method could realize accurate quantitative determination of nitrite ion in environmental water samples with recovery rates in the range of 90. 8%-103. 0%, which were comparable to the corresponding values of HPLC-DAD experiments. In this paper, near infrared spectroscopy has been incorporated with an advanced calibration transfer method-loading space standardization to effectively eliminate the deteriorate effects of temperature variation on quantitative results and finally realize the fast and accurate on-line quantitative monitoring and control of tobacco flavors. The root mean square error value for the main constituents in syrup samples is successfully retained at a satisfying low level of 3 . 8%. The results of this paper will provide technical support for the preparation, preservation and use of tobacco flavors, and realize on-line process quality control of cigarettes.

The effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) against various diseases urges more low cost,speed and sensitive analytical methods for investigating the phamacology of TCM and providing a theoretical basis for clinical use.The potential of second-order calibration method was validated for the quantification of two effective ingredients of Schisandra chinensis in human plasma using spectrofluorimetry.The results obtained in the present study demonstrate the advantages of this strategy for multi-target determination in complex matrices.Although the spectra of the analytes are similar and a large number of interferences also exist,second-order calibration method could predict the accurate concentrations together with reasonable resolution of spectral profiles for analytes of interest owing to its ‘second-order advantage'.Moreover,the method presented in this work allows one to simply experimental procedure as well as reduces the use of harmful chemical solvents.

Objective:To observe the effect of point application-invigorate the spleen and kidney, circulation of blood formula (PA) combined with five-animal exercise (FAE) on improving the nutritional status for asthenia of patients with dialysis, and provide evidence for the rehabilitation treatment of dialysis patients.Methods:According to the random number table method, a total of 80 patients treated with regular dialysis at Department of Nephrology, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from April 2020 to December 2021 were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 40 cases in each group. Participants in the control group received regular dialysis, basic treatment and diet nursing (RBD). Participants in the experimental group received RBD plus PA+FAE. Labaratory test results, Subjective Global Assessment scale score and Traditional Chinese medicine symptom score were measured at baseline and 12-weeks after the intervention. The Fried Frailty scale score was measured at baseline, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the intervention.Results:The control group aged (54.08 ± 11.34) years old, 23 males, 17 females; the experimental group aged (57.38±9.89) years old, 19 males, 21 females. After 4, 8 and 12 weeks of intervention, the Fried Frailty Scale scores of the experimental group at different time points were 2 (2, 2), 1 (1, 2) and 1 (0, 1), respectively, lower than 3 (2, 4), 2 (2, 3) and 2 (2, 3) of the control group, and the differences in time effect, inter-group effect and interaction effect were statistically significant ( F=105.76, 18.38, 46.67, all P<0.01). Further pairwise comparisons within groups indicated significant differences of Fried Frailty scale scores at different time points ( Z=-2.78, -4.01, -6.08, all P<0.01). After 12-week of intervention, the results of hemoglobin, serum albumin and serum prealbumin were (107.88 ± 15.58) g/L, (39.10 ± 4.92) g/L, and (289.36 ± 72.05) mg/L in the experimental group, respectively, higher than (100.15 ± 17.62) g/L, (36.93 ± 4.72) g/L, (255.63 ± 75.35) mg/L in the control group ( t=-2.08, -2.01, -2.05, all P<0.05). Subjective Overall Assessment scale was found a significant difference between the 2 groups ( χ2=10.91, P<0.01): the number of grade A (good nutrition) and B (mild to moderate malnutrition) were 36 and 4 in the experimental group and 23 and 17 in the control group. Traditional Chinese medicine symptom score was (4.68 ± 2.50) in the experimental group, lower than (9.58 ± 4.40) in the control group ( t=6.13, P<0.01). Objective: To observe clinical effect of thunder-fire moxibustion with meridian point, including lumbar spinal cordacupoints of bladder meridian and abdominal acupoints of Ren channel, which treating on deficiency of kidney and spleen and blood stasis in chronic kidney diseases (CKD) stage 3. Methods: Totally 60 patients were randomly divided into treatment and control group. 30 patients in control were treated with blood pressure and lipid adjustment, Chinese medicine and nutritional therapy. 30 patients in treatment group were treated with thunder-fire moxibustion with meridian point based on control. A moxibustion-treated course has 2 weeks, patients were treated every other day. Observe blood urea nitrogen (Bun) , creatinine (Scr) , glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) , Chinese medicine syndrome and quantitative score, as well as clinical efficacy. Results: After 4 weeks of intervention, the TCM syndrome score [8 (4,10)] in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group [12 (10,14)], with a statistically significant difference (Z=-3.706, P = 0.000); in the quantitative score of symptom classification, the patients in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group [2 (0,2)], chills [2 (2,2)], fatigue [2 (2,4)], the difference was statistically significant (Z=-2.625, -3.593, -4.609, P < 0.01). The frequency of nocturia in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group (Z=-1.989, P < 0.05), while that in the treatment group was not significantly better than that in the control group (P > 0.05). In terms of clinical efficacy, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.3% (28/30), which was better than73.3% (22/30) of the control group (χ²= 38.19, P = 0.000). Conclusion Thunder-fire moxibustion with meridian point improve deficiency of kidney and spleen and blood stasis of patients in CKD stage3, such as weak waist, cold chills, poor appetite, weakness and nocturia, as well as ameliorate renal function.

Objective: To evaluate the correlation between alcohol consumption and obesity in adults in China. Methods: The information about alcohol consumption were collected at the baseline survey of the China Kadoorie Biobank. The general obesity and central obesity were defined by BMI and waist circumference (WC) respectively. Logistic regression model was employed to examine the relationship of drinking behavior with general obesity and central obesity. Results: A total of 249 873 adults were included. A J-shaped relationship was observed between alcohol consumption and obesity measurement index (BMI and WC) in men. Compared with non-drinkers, the proportion of general obesity and central obesity were lower in light drinkers (men: OR=0.65, 95%CI: 0.59-0.71 and OR=0.93, 95%CI: 0.88-0.98; women: OR=0.77, 95%CI: 0.65-0.91 and OR=0.89, 95%CI: 0.80-0.99). In men, the proportion of general obesity and central obesity was highest in heavy drinkers (OR=1.21, 95%CI: 1.12-1.32; OR=1.33, 95%CI: 1.27-1.40). BMI and WC were higher in those with a drinking frequency of 3-5 d/week, with largest of proportion of central obesity (men: OR=1.23, 95%CI: 1.16-1.31; women: OR=1.13, 95%CI: 0.99-1.28). The risk for central obesity in men who began drinking every week before 20 years old was 1.24 times higher than non-drinkers (95%CI: 1.16-1.33). Those who drank beer had lower proportion of general obesity (men: OR=0.74, 95%CI: 0.67-0.82; women: OR=0.54, 95%CI: 0.43-0.68). Conclusion The proportion of obesity was lower in light drinkers but higher in heavy drinkers; and the earlier drinking started, the higher the risk for obesity was.

Objective: To understand the fruit consumption of adults of Qingdao and examine the association between fruit consumption and stroke. Methods: We analyzed baseline data and stroke incidence of the participants who were aged 30-79 years and had been enrolled into the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study from Qingdao city. Cox proportional hazards regression model was conducted to estimate the association of fruit consumption with risk of stroke. Results: A total of 35 509 participants were investgated in the baseline survey. Ratio of male to female was 1∶1.27, and the average age was (50.3±10.2) years. Respondents with higher frequency of fruit consumption were younger, more women, with higher education level and higher income (P<0.05). A total of 1 011 new cases of stroke were observed, with a stroke incidence of 387.63/100 000 person-years. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that fruit consumption had a protective effect on stroke incidence. Compared to the respondents who never consumed fruit, respondents who consumed fruit more than 4 days per week had a 44% lower risk of stroke incidence (HR=0.56, 95%CI: 0.50-0.62, P<0.05), and the risk reduced by 46% (HR=0.54, 95%CI: 0.46-0.64, P<0.05) and 42% (HR=0.58, 95%CI: 0.52-0.69, P<0.05) in male and female, respectively. Further adjustment for WC, BMI, SBP and random blood glucose did not change the association. Conclusion Increasing fruit consumption can effectively decrease the risk of stroke. People should increase fruit consumption advisably to set up reasonable and healthy dietary habits.
