Journal of Kunming Medical University 1986;0(04):-
There is a high incidence of malignant lung tumor in Yunnan tin mine area.In order to detect the causes, the mixtures of artificial synthetic mine dust containing As,Pb,Fe etc(No. 1,2,3)were used for tumor-inducing experiments on Wistar rats. The results were as follows: 31 lung sarcomas were developed in 3 experimental groups and the incidence was 22.6%.The malignant lung lymphomas developed in 28 of 31 sarcomas, the rate being 90.2%.In addition, 3 cases of lung cancer were found. No benign or malignant lung tumor was found in the con- trol group. The results showed that the artificial synthetic mine dust(No.1,2,3)was related to the lung sarcoma formation on Wistar rats, which is reported for the first time.
2.Cell Transformation Test of Vanadium (V) and Zirconium (Zr) in Yunnan Tin Mine Dust
Journal of Kunming Medical University 1988;0(03):-
There is a high incidence of lung cancer among the miners of Yunnan Tin Mine. We have successfully induced lung cancer in hamsters separately by mine powder, mine powder plus radon or flue dust of the refinery. There are more than thirty similar chemical elements in both mine and flue dust. In order to exclude the action of the trace radioactive chemical elements and to confirm the carcinogenic effect of the non-radioactive inorganic chemical substances, We choose vanadium (V) and zirconium (Zr) to carry out cell transformation test in vitro. The results are as follows: 1. The cell toxicity test of V and Zr is positive.2. The cell transformation test of V shows positive and that of Zr is negative. This is reported for the first time.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2001;0(03):-
Objective To investigate HR-MR imaging characteristics of non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) of the orbits in extraconal compartment. Methods The HR-MR images of 16 patients with NHL of the orbits identified pathologically were retrospectively analyzed. MRI of the orbit at a 1.5 T scanner was performed with 4-cm surface coil, thin slice, suitable bandwidth, small FOV, and large matrix. T1-weighted (before and after i.v. bolus injection of contrast medium) and fast spin-echo T2-weighted sequences were acquired in all patients. All cases were performed with fat suppression techniques. The analyzed criteria of imaging appearance included location, number, size, shape, margins, extension, adjacent structures, and signal intensity of the lesions. Results The lesions in 13 of 16 cases located in anterior part of extraconal compartment, posterior to the orbital septum, and with irregular cast shape. The other 3 patients showed diffuse lesions with infiltration in extraconal compartment and with irregular shape. Eleven lesions had the large volume above 3.0 ml, 4 lesions with medium volume ranging from 1.0 to 3.0 ml, and only one with small volume less than 1.0 ml. 13 cases had a poor-defined margin with infiltration of extraocular muscles, but without mechanical shift of the muscles. 7 patients had infiltration of eyeball, but only 3 cases with exophthalmos. Destruction of orbital bone was evident in 2 cases with diffuse lesions but never in isolated orbital lymphoma. On the T_1-weighted images, the signal intensity of the lymphoma was isointense compared with that of the muscle in all patients. The T_2-weighted fast SE images showed a hyperintense signal in 13 cases and intermediate in 3 cases. All lesions enhanced after intravenous Gd-DTPA administration, 15 cases with homogeneous enhancement, and 10 cases with reliably visible enhancement in the T_1-weighted fat-suppressed sequences. Conclusion Most NHL of the orbits in extraconal compartment have the characteristic findings on HR-MR imaging, including anterior part of extraconal compartment location, posterior to the orbital septum, irregular cast shape, large volume, poor-defined margin with infiltration but without mechanical shift of extraocular muscles, uniform signal characteristics and marked enhancement after injection of contrast medium, and without bony destruction in isolated orbital lymphoma. The understanding of HR-MRI features of orbital NHL in extraconal compartment is very useful for making the differential diagnosis with other orbital diseases.

Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
Protozoans, the natural host of the facultative intracellular pathogen Legionella species, play an important role in survival, proliferation, virulence and stress resistance of Legionella species. By repeating transformation and selection,a spontaneous mutant of plasmid over expressing green fluorescent protein was obtained. This mutant replicates and is maintained stably in Legionella cells. The colonies of L. pneumophila harbouring the mutated plasmid were intense green in colour even under the daylight. After feeding BF1 strain of Tetrahymena thermophila with transformed L. pneumophila, the intracellular dynamic of changing of bacterial shape, bacterial proliferation and lysis of the host cell due to the bacterial proliferation were observed clearly under fluorescent microscopy. Thus, the present paper provides a simple and intuitionistic strategy for investigating the ecological and cellular relationship between L. pneumophila and its host.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;36(1):17-21
Objective :
Objective To investigate the demand for health management and influencing factors among occupational population at high risk of stroke, so as to provide insights into the development of stroke health management strategies among occupational population.
Methods:
Occupational population aged 40 to 60 years who participated in health examination were sampled from three tertiary hospitals in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province using a quota sampling method in the ratio of 4∶1∶1, from August to December 2020. Participants' blood biochemistry tests and health examination were collected through the examination reports, and the participants at high risk of stroke were screened using the assessment criteria for high-risk of stroke. Participants' general information and demand for health management were collected using questionnaire surveys. In addition, factors affecting the demand for health management were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 3 003 people who participated in health examination were investigated, and 1 062 participants met the assessment criteria for high risk of stroke, accounting for 35.36%. There were 1 000 men (94.16%) and 62 women (5.84%), with a mean age of (49.26±4.97) years. There were 414 professional and technical staff (39.50%). There were 709 participants (66.76%) with demand for health management, with the top three in the demand as health checkups (915 participants, accounting for 86.16%), health consultation (601 participants, accounting for 56.60%) and exercise guidance (560 participants, accounting for 52.73%), and 210 participants (19.77%) received health management. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that occupational population at high risk of stroke who received health management were more likely to have the demand for health management (OR=2.158, 95%CI: 1.479-3.149).
Conclusions
The occupational population at high risk of stroke have the demand for health management. Having received health management may affect the demand for health management among occupational population at high risk of stroke.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2020;49(1):76-81
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the prognosis of patients with vulnerable plaque indicated by coronary CT angiography (CCTA).
METHODS:
Totally 1963 patients underwent CCTA from February 2nd 2015 to September 13th 2015, and 2728 coronary borderline lesions (stenosis of 50%-70%) were detected. Among them 804 patients had vulnerable plaques and 1159 patients had stable plaques. The primary endpoint was major cardiac adverse events (MACE), including cardiac death, acute myocardial infarction and target lesion revascularization.
RESULTS:
Patients were followed up for a mean follow-up of 27.4±2.3 months. The incidence of MACE in the vulnerable plaque group was significantly higher than that in the stable plaque group (10.8%vs 2.3%, < 0.01). After adjusting for age, gender, smoking, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, the MACE hazard ratio () in the vulnerable plaque group was 5.022 (95% :3.254-7.751, < 0.01).Subgroup analysis showed that in the vulnerable plaque group, the incidence of MACE in patients taking antiplatelet and statin ≤3 months and those taking antiplatelet and statin > 3 months was 17.0%and 5.8%, respectively (=3.149, 95% :1.987-4.992, < 0.01); but the difference did not seen in stable plaque group (=1.721, 95% :0.798-3.712, >0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
This study confirmed the risk of MACE in patients with vulnerable plaque detected by CCTA and the drug treatment may reduce the risk for patients with vulnerable plaque.

9.In vitro effect of interferon alpha on proliferation of human marrow fibroblast.
Chinese Journal of Hematology 2004;25(8):478-481
OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of interferon alpha (IFN-alpha) on proliferation of human marrow fibroblasts.
METHODSMarrow fibroblasts were isolated from patients with iron deficiency anemia. Platelet derived growth factor-AB (PDGF-AB), transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-beta1) or INF-alpha2b was added in the cell cultures each alone or in combinations. Cell proliferation and cell cycle of fibroblasts were detected by MTT and flow cytometry, respectively.
RESULTSPDGF-ABqa (1 approximately 50 ng/ml) or TGF-beta1 (0.01 approximately 1 ng/ml) could stimulate the proliferation of the fibroblasts, while PDGF-AB was more effective (P < 0.01). IFN-alpha2b partially suppressed PDGF-AB induced proliferation of fibroblasts,the inhibition rate was 7.62%. IFN-alpha2b and TGF-beta1 combination suppressed synergistically not only the proliferation of the fibroblasts (P < 0.01) but also the PDGF-AB induced-proliferation (P < 0.01) at S phase.
CONCLUSIONIFN-alpha2b combined with TGF-beta1 could synergistically suppress the PDGF-AB induced proliferation of fibroblasts at S phase in vitro.

10.Evaluation of test methods for defecation disorders.
Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery 2016;19(12):1345-1347
Defecation disorders is a common gastrointestinal disease characterized by slow colonic transit and/or paradoxical anal contraction. Gastrointestinal motility test plays an important role in the diagnosis, classification and treatment of defecation disorders. Anorectal manometry (ARM) provides comprehensive information about rectal and anal sphincter function, including resting anal sphincter pressure, squeeze anal sphincter pressure, the rectal and anal sphincter pressure changes during an attempted defecation, rectal sensory testing, rectoanal inhibitory reflex and rectal compliance. However, ARM can not diagnose the defecation disorders without the other tests. It should be combined with defecography and balloon expulsion test. Defecography demonstrates the anatomy and function of the anorectum and pelvic floor. Gastrointestinal transit test assesses regional and whole colon transit time. They are valuable methods in diagnosis of defecation disorders, but these tests have their respective advantages and disadvantages, and combined use should be carried out usually.
