Objective To observe the effect of atropine mydriasis, wearing myopia glasses for short or long distance, and massage on preventing and controlling myopia in teenagers and children. Methods A total of 198 myopia cases (involving 393 eyes) were randomized into control group and treatment group. The control group was given eyesight examination after mydriasis with atropine sulfate eye gel and wearing myopia glasses for long distance. The treatment group was given eyesight examination after mydriasis with atropine sulfate eye gel, wearing myopia glasses for short distance, and massage therapy. Eyesight examination was carried out once every 2 months and lasted for one continuous year. The changes of diopter were compared between the two groups. Results ( 1) Of 194 affected eyes from the treatment group, 96 eyes were effective, 68 were stabilized, and the effective rate was 45.5%and stabilizing rate was 35.1%. Of 199 affected eyes from the control group, 3 eyes were effective, 9 were stabilized, and the effective rate was 1.5%and stabilizing rate was 4.5%. The differences of effective and stabilizing rates were significant between the two groups ( P<0.01). ( 2) After treatment, the myopia diopter was increased in the control group ( P<0.01 compared with that before treatment) , and the myopia diopter in the treatment group maintained stable ( P>0.05). The difference of diopter was significant between the two groups (P<0.01). (3) The difference of astigmatism was insignificant in both groups before and after treatment and between the two groups after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion Mydriasis with atropine sulfate eye gel, wearing myopia glasses for short or long distance, and focal massage therapy show certain preventive effect on myopia in teenagers and children by controlling the development of myopia diopter.

Objective To investigate ventricular remodeling and glucose transporter 4(GLUT4) expression in rat with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) complicated with myocardial infarction (MI), as well as the effects of ramipril on ventricular remodeling and CLUT4 expression. Method Diabetic animal model (DM) was produced by cholesterol-diet and intraperitoneal injedtion of streptozotocin (STZ,30 mg/kg). The successful model was identified based on the blood gulcose value > 6.7 mmol/L. Left anterior descending coronary artery was ligated to produce the model of MI. 46 wistar rats were randomly(random number) divided into 5 groups: DM + MI + placebo group(placebo group, n = 9), DM + MI + ramipril group(ramipril group, n = 10), DM + sham-operation group (DM group, n = 10),non-DM group + MI (MI group, n = 9), and non-DM + sham-operation group (n = 8). After six weeks, echocardiographic studies was performed ; Left ventricular mass index (LVMI), myocardial infarct size and myocardial collagen volume fraction(CVF) of non-infarction area were also detected. GLUT4 mRNA in the myocardium away from infarction region was measured with real-time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR and the expression of GLUT4 protein was measured with western blot. Analysis of variance was used to compare the groups. P -values< 0.05 were considered to indicate statistically significant differences. Results Compared with Ml group and DM group,EF[(32 ±3)% vs. (65 ±4)%, P <0.01 and (32 ±3)% vs. (38 ±4)%, P <0.05 respectively] significantly decreased, while E/A ratio (P < 0.01), LVMI (P < 0.05) and CVF (P < 0.05) obviously increased in placebo group. The expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein were similar between placebo group and DM group, however, much lower than those in MI group(P<0.01).In rampiril group, E/A ratio (P < 0.01), LVMI(3.1±0.2 vs.4.2±0.4, P <0.01) and CVF(P < 0.05) significantly decreased compared with placebo group, while EF[(45±3)% vs.(32±3)%, P <0.01] and the expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein (P < 0.05) increased. Conclusions Rampiril could improve left ventricular hypertrophy and systolic/di-astolic dysfunction, increase the expression of GLUT4 mRNA and protein in diabetic rats complicated with MI.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of the upper- arm electronic sphygmomanometer for evaluating the blood pressure in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods Consecutive hospitalized patients with atrial fibrillation for coronary angiography were selected, and the application of upper- arm electronic sphygmomanometer and mercury sphygmomanometer of blood pressure were applied and in the process of coronary angiography, the radial artery invasive blood pressure was recorded and the correlation was analyzed. Results Mercury sphygmomanometer and radial artery invasive blood pressure measurement had a good consistency on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, mean arterial pressure in atrial fibrillation patients, the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Upper- arm electronic sphygmomanometer and radial artery invasive blood pressure measurement had some consistency (pulse rate range, pulse rate of 70-90 beats / min) on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, mean arterial pressure in atrial fibrillation patients, the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Upper-arm electronic sphygmomanometer and mercury sphygmomanometer had some consistency (pulse rate range, pulse rate of 70-90 beats / min) on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, mean arterial pressure in atrial fibrillation patients, the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The correlation between mercury sphygmomanometer and radial artery invasive blood pressure measurement were found on systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, mean arterial pressure in atrial fibrillation patients (r=0.71-0.78, P<0.05),which were better than those of upper- arm electronic sphygmomanometer and radial artery invasive blood pressure measurement (r=0.53-0.70, P <0.05). Conclusions The upper- arm electronic sphygmomanometer can be used for the assessment of blood pressure in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Objective:To compare the patient-centered doctor-patient communication skills in anesthesiologists with different working experience and genders. Methods:The second and third year residents who had been trained as residents in the Department of Anesthesiology in our hospital from September 2017 and September 2018 and senior physicians who had worked for 10-15 yr in our hospital, were recruited to perform a preoperative interview in a standardized patient counter.Consultation and Relational Empathy (CARE) measure was used to assess the communication skills among senior physicians, residents, and anesthesiologists of different genders. The residents also took the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) and theory examination.Results:Thirty-six residents and 20 senior physicians were included. There was no significant difference in the CARE measure score between residents and senior physicians and in the total CARE measure score between residents who received doctor-patient communication training at the stage of medical students and those who did not ( P>0.05). Compared with the residents in the second year, the listening ability score and decision-making ability score were significantly decreased ( P<0.05), and no significant change was found in the scores for the other items in the residents in the third year ( P>0.05). Compared with residents, the listening ability scores were significantly increased, and the caring ability scores were decreased ( P<0.05), and no significant change was found in the scores for the other items in senior physicians ( P>0.05). There was no difference in CARE measure scores between the male and female anesthesiologists. The resident′s CARE measure score was positively correlated with the annual OSCE score ( r=0.486, P<0.05), and there was no correlation between the resident′s CARE measure score and annual theoretical examination grade ( r=0.308, P>0.05). Conclusion:Senior anesthesiologists with more clinical experience are not superior to the junior residents in patient-centered communication skills, and the doctor-patient communication skills of residents are not related to their medical theoretical grade. Moreover, there is no significant difference between male and female anesthesiologists in terms of doctor-patient communication skills before surgery. Therefore, training of patient-centered doctor-patient communication skills should be strengthened at all levels of anesthesiologists.

This study was directed to the effects of macrophage-colony stimulating factors (M-CSF) concentration, recerptor activator of nuclear factor kappaB ligand (RANKL) concentration and M-CSF preinduction on osteoclastogenesis and the related resorption function. Bone marrow mononuclear cells were isolated and were divided into 4 groups. Group A underwent osteoclastogenic induction with the use of 30 ng/ml M-CSF and 50 ng/ml RANKL, while Group B received 50 ng/ml M-CSF and 100 ng/ml RANKL treatment. Both C and D Group underwent preinduction with the use of 30 ng/ml M-CSF for 3days, and then they were treated with 30 ng/ml M-CSF and 50 ng/ml RANKL, 50 ng/ml M-CSF and 100 ng/ml RANKL, respectively. Osteoclastogenesis was examined by TRAP staining 6 days after induction, and dentin resorption lacunae were detected by Scanning Electron Microscope 9 days after induction. TRAP positive multinuclear cells were observed in all groups of cells, and resorption lacunae were formed in all of them. However, more TRAP positive multinuclear cells were observed and more large resorption lacunae were detected in groups B and D than in groups A and C, respectively. The number of TRAP positive cells, number of resorption lacunae and lacuna areas in groups C and D were also greater than those in groups A and B, respectively. Higher concentration of M-CSF and RANKL and preinduction with M-CSF may benefit osteoclastogenesis and increase resorption function of osteoclast.
