1.Efficacy and Safety of TUEVP vs TURP for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of TUEVP vs TURP for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).MethodsLiferatures on randomized controlled trials(RCT),non-randomized controlled trials(NRCT) and retrospective controlled trials of both Chinese and English studies about TUEVP vs TURP for the treatment of BPH all over the world were searched by Pubmed,Ovid,ScineceDirect,NGC,EBSCO,EMBASE,CNKI,CBM,as well as manual search of four Chinese journals: Chinese of Journal of Androloy,National Journal of Androlgy,Chinese Journal of Urology,Journal of Clinical Urology.Two reviewers independently screened the studies for eligibility,evaluated the quality and extracted the data from the eligible studies,with confirmation by cross-checking.Divergences of opinion were settled by discussion or consulted by the expert.Meta-analysis was processed by Rev Man 5.0,fail-safe number(Nfs) was performed by SAS8.0.ResultsSeventeen RCTs involving 2413 men were enrolled the inclusion criteria in Meta analysis.The baseline of patients' characteristics was comparable in all the studies.By evaluating the relevant indicators,side effects and complications between TUEVP and TURP,the statistically significant differences of pooled estimates suggested a benefit of TUEVP over TURP for bladder wash-out time,catheterization time,hospital stay,incidence of ED(20.6% vs 29.0%).In contrast,pooled estimates of the difference favoured TURP over TUEVP for MFR and incidence of postoperative secondary hemorrhage(7.9% vs 3.6%).ConclusionThis formal meta-analysis suggests that both TUEVP and TURP in patients with BPH provide comparable improvements,whose efficacy and safety is similar.While comparative analysis is limited by the methodological shortcomings of the underlying studies and the short follow-up,both TURP and TUEVP may offer distinct advantages.More high quality trials with large sample and longer follow-up are proposed,which will provide more evidence about evidence based medicine.
2.Exploration of the training form of cardiopulmonary resuscitation popularization among agricultural residence registration population in towns and villages

Objective To explore the short and long-term effect of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for agricultural residence registration population with the language education and practice education,in order to establish a more effective method of first-aid training for agriculture population.Methods 989 agricultural residence registration people were divided into group A (721 people)and group B (268 people) randomly.Group A received CPR training with language education and group B adopted practice education.On the time before and after training immediatelythe 3rd and 6th month after training,we checked the training results and analyzed the data with statistical methods.Results The short- term effect of two methods was satisfying (accuracy more then 90% ) and without statistical significance.The effect of group B was better than group A in the 3rd and 6th month after training.Two groups showed higher forgetting rate and some accuracy were less than 50%.Conclusions Agriculture population is in urgent need of first-aid.It may be a more effective method of first-aid training for agriculture population to transform gradually from language education to practice education.At the same time,we may use 4 hours as CPR practice education training time and 6 months as re-training period.
3.Detection of apolipoprotein B-100 gene mutation in patients of primary hypercholesterolemia families.

Objective To detect genetic mutation of apolipoprotein B-100(apoB-100)in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia.Methods One special segment of apoB-100 gene from nucleotide 10549 to 10895 was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).The PCR products were denatured and hybridized with specific aligonucleotide labeled with digoxigenin,and were analyzed by single strand conformation polymorphism(SSCP)to detect the apoB-100 gene mutation 3531CGC→CGT or other mutations.Results Overall 41 members of 11 primary hypercholesterolemia families were detected,but the above genetic mutation was not detected.Conclusion This genetic mutation is unlikely to exist or of significantly low incidence in Chinese population,and might not be the main cause of primary hypercholesterolemia in the 11 primary hypercholesterolemia families.
4.Effect of shenmai injection on myocardial eNOS mRAN expression in myocardial ischemic rats

AIM: To study the effect of shenmai injection (SMI), a Chinese medicine, on nitric oxide and the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) mRNA in myocardium of rats with experimental myocardial ischemia. METHODS: Rats were randomly divided into four groups: control, model (ischemia), SMI 1 and SMI 2 group. A rat model of acute myocardial ischemia was established by isoprenaline treatment and the lift of ST segment in ECG was used as the index of myocardial ischemia. The nitric oxide (NO) contents in serum and myocardium and the expression of eNOS mRNA in myocardium were measured. RESULTS: Compared with control group, ST segment of ECG was significantly elevated 20, 30, 40 min after myocardial ischemia in model group, the lift peak of ST segment occurred 20 min after myocardial ischemia, the concentration of NO in the serum and myocardium and the expression of eNOS mRNA in myocardium were significantly lowered in model group. Compared with the model group, in SMI 1 group and SMI 2 group, the concentration of NO in the serum and myocardium and the expression of eNOS mRNA in myocardium were significantly increased, the lift of ST segment were significantly reduced 20, 30, 40 min after myocardial ischemia. Compared with SMI 1 group, the concentration of NO in the serum and myocardium and the expression of eNOS mRNA in myocardium and the lift of ST segment were not statistically different in SMI 2 group. CONCLUSION: Shenmai injection can increase the expression of eNOS mRNA in myocardium and the content of NO, and protect against myocardial ischemia in rats.
5.Analysis of malaria death cases in Henan Province from 2010 to 2015

Objective To retrospectively overview the malaria death cases reported in Henan Province and analyze the cause of death. Methods The data including basic information,epidemiological survey and medical records of malaria death cases in Henan Province from 2010 to 2015 were collected and analyzed. Results In the six years,a total of 14 malaria pa?tients were dead. All the death patients were adult males and imported from Africa. They had definite histories of living in malaria?epidemic areas and the symptoms of fever. Twelve patients were diagnosed as malaria after at least twice diagnoses. The average time from symptom appearing to correct diagnosis was 6.5 d. The causes of deaths were misdiagnosis and delayed treatment. Con?clusions The major reasons of malaria death cases in Henan Province are the failure of correct diagnosis and prompt treatment. Health education of malaria prevention and diagnosis and treatment training of malaria should be strengthened in order to im?prove the public awareness and the diagnosis ability of clinical doctors for malaria,which can prevent the death of imported ma?laria cases.
6.Investigation and analysis of overseas imported malaria prevalence in Henan Province from 2012 to 2014

Objective To understand the epidemic characteristics of imported malaria in Henan Province from 2012 to 2014,so as to provide the evidence for proposing the reasonable suggestions for imported malaria prevention and control. Meth?ods The data of imported malaria were collected and the epidemic characteristics were analyzed in Henan Province from 2012 to 2014. Results A total of 569 imported malaria cases were reported in Henan Province from 2012 to 2014,including 445 cas?es of falciparum malaria,48 cases of vivax malaria,61 cases of ovale malaria,14 cases of quartan malaria,and 1 case of mixed infection. All the malaria cases were confirmed in laboratory. During the three years,the time of higher incidence was in Spring Festival,and May and June,and the cases mainly distributed in Luoyang,Zhengzhou,Puyang,Xinxiang,Anyang,Xuchang and Nanyang cities,accounting for 68.54%. Totally 82.43%of the patients were male youth and middle?aged. Of the 569 pa?tients,534(93.85%)returned from Africa and 35(6.15%)returned from Southeast Asian countries. The average time was 6.22 d and the median was 4 d from the onset to diagnosis. Among 569 cases,290(50.97%)were confirmed by different levels of cen?ters for disease prevention and control,and 279(49.03%)were diagnosed by different levels of medical institutions. Conclu?sions The imported malaria cases have been increased obviously in recent 3 years in Henan Province. Therefore,the health ed?ucation for the knowledge about malaria prevention and control,and the technician training should be strengthened.
7.MRI findings and correlation with pathological features in breast phyllodes tumor

ObjectiveTo study the MR Imaging features of breast phyllodes tumor (PT),and to correlate it with pathological results.MethodClinical and MRI findings were retrospectively reviewed in twenty-seven women with 28 PTs lesions confirmed by surgical pathology.Statistical analyses were one-way ANOVA for size analysis,Fisher exact test for analysis of MR appearances and Spearman correlation to study the relationship between MRI findings and BI-RADS categories.Results( 1 ) The histologic findings were benign,borderline and malignant PTs in 14.3% (4/28),53.6% (15/28) and 32.1% (9/28) of lesions,respectively.(2) The mean maximum-diameter were (6.4 ± 3.9) cm,(5.7 ± 2.2) cm in borderline type and (4.8 ± 1.8)cm in benign type respectively.The results showed differences in lesion's size among the three type (F = 287.541,P =0.000),especially between malignant and benign type (P = 0.033 ).(3)Internal non-enhanced septations and silt-like changes on enhanced images,as well as time-signal curve on MRI correlated significantly with the histological grade ( P < 0.05 ).( 4 ) If the category BI-RADS ≥ 4a was considered to be a suspicious sign for malignant lesion,the diagnostic accuracy of MRI would be 96.4% (27/28),and the BI-RADS category of the MRI could reflect the PT's histological grade with a low correlation coefficient ( r = 0.382,P = 0.045 ).Conclusion The findings of PT on MRI have some characteristics,with tumor size and several MRI features correlating with the histological grade of breast PT.

Objective To observe the biological activities of human doppel (Dpl) protein transiently expressed and Dpl-like protein PrPΔ32-121 on a human neuroblastoma cell line SH-SY5Y. Methods Recombinant mammalian expression plasmids containing human PRND gene and truncated PrPΔ32-121 fragment were generated by PCR. The expression and location of Dpl and PrPΔ32-121 post-transfection were observed by IFA. The cytotoxicity was measured by MTT analysis. Cellular apoptosis was investigated by flow cytometry and Western blot. Results Both Dpl and PrPΔ32-121 protein were expressed and mainly located on the cell membrane. Remarkable cytotoxicity was detected on SH-SY5Y cells after 24 h transfection. Meanwhile, more Annexin V/PI positively-stained cells as well as lower levels of cellular pro-caspase-3 and Bel-2 were detected in the cells receiving Dpl and PrPΔ32-121 expressing plasmids. Conclusion Dpl protein transiently expressed and PrPΔ32-121 can lead to the similar neural cytotoxicity, probably triggering the cell apoptosis program.

10.Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in patients with primary lung cancer.

OBJECTIVETo assess the relationship between histological type and fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG) uptake in patients with primary lung cancer and the factors affecting FDG uptake.
METHODSFrom October 1998 to April 2001, 82 patients with lung cancer were imaged with FDG-PET (Positron emission tomography) before surgery or biopsy. Their maximum and mean standard uptake value(SUVmax and SUVmean) of tumor and SUV of normal lung (SUVlung) were measured.
RESULTSAll tumors were detected by FDG-PET(r)FDG uptake of tumor was higher than that of normal lung (P < 0.01). FDG uptake was lower in adenocarcinoma(AC) than in squamous cell carcinoma (SQC), and that of bronchial aveolar carcinomas(BAC) was the lowest [SUVmax was 8.42 +/- 4.05,5.91 +/- 3.91 and 2.97 +/- 1.10, respectively; SUVmean was 6.12 +/- 2.90,4.35+/- 3.10 and 2.25 +/- 0.99, respectively (P < 0.01)]. Correlations were found between FDG uptake and tumor size (P < 0.01)(r)Glucose level and SUV of normal lung could affect SUV of lung cancer (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSSUV is higher in cancer tissue than in normal lung tissue. FDG uptake is different among SQC,AC and BAC. FDG uptake and tumor size appear to be correlated with each other.SQC, AC and BAC have their own features respectively. The effects of glucose and SUV lung should be considered in the diagnosis of lung cancer with PET.
